My best friend treated my sister and I to a head spa for our birthday and it was such a stress-free experience booking at this place! It was awesome that they had a dual room to do the head treatment. When my sister and I came in, they used the probe to look deeply into our scalp and because my sister needed extra attention, we opted into the more expensive Japanese treatment. Summer did my head spa, she was really nice and loved her techniques! 75 minutes went by so quickly. They took us to our room where we got comfortable and I was very impressed with how clean everything was. There was a neck massage and she placed an eye mask on me. She blow dryed my hair with a Dyson and straightened my bangs because they got really curly. I came here yesterday for a Japanese purifying scalp treatment. The first floor is the picture and styling area, while the second floor has the treatment rooms. I was the only one getting a treatment at that time so the whole place was quiet and calm with soft music playing in the background. The ladies were all nice and friendly I have psoriasis on my scalp and it's been feeling extra dry and itchy lately so I needed a refresh (as well as booking an appt at my derm). Annie took pictures of my scalp, while another lady also looked at the pictures and noticed my sleep has been off based on how dry my scalp was. Annie did my scalp treatment. She had great pressure during the scalp and neck/shoulder massage. She was gentle but effective when using tools on my scalp. The 'waterfall' was as relaxing as I hoped it would be. I do wish I could hear the music better, especially when she's not running water. I think it would be even more relaxing. My scalp felt so clean after and the pictures proved it! Had the detox scalp treatment with Emily and enjoyed every minute of my experience. The place was clean, quiet and very relaxing. I was able to call and get an appointment the very same day. I couldn't believe what I was seeing on the camera they use to do the scalp analysis, which tells me I was way overdue in addressing the constant dandruff buildup that comes with a dry scalp. The post-pics showed a much healthier surface. Total time for my treatment was about 75 min which included the neck and shoulder massage, treatment of 2x shampoos and 2x scalp masks, washing and blow drying. I should treat myself to this at least 4x/year. I highly recommend this spa and Emily as your scalp therapist. read more

Easy to make appointments online. They have a room for 2 people and it was 20% for first time visit this month. Had no idea what to expect. I usually don't do things like this. It was a wonderful experience. Walked in a little early and they were ready for us. We sat in the 2 chairs next to each other and they did the photos of our scalp, looking so close at your scalp is pretty cool. Then you go inside the room to change out of your top and put on their wrap. They do an hour of scalp treatment and massage on shoulders, head and neck. I was in the area for work and forgot to pack my hair products (hotel conditioners don't cut it for me). I have fine, wavy hair and I've been two DIFFERENT head spa I went to in the US and two in India that had no idea how to handle my hair. I saw all the good reviews here and that they offer multiple services so I figured this would hopefully be better. And it was! I got the Korean treatment because I liked that it came with a massage. I'd say the massage had moments of light pressure and harder pressure; if you want light pressure only be sure to tell them (Annie asked me if I was okay with it). Annie and I chatted a bit during the initial scalp review where i mentioned once I liked to keep my hair more natural/not straightened. When she was doing the end styling, she remembered that and didn't straighten my hair (first time a head spa has done that). And while we first looked at my scalp, I was telling her I had dry hair and she agreed. So during my hair treatment she let the hair mask sit for a good chunk of time. There was another client who had much curlier hair than me and he also seemed pleased with his service, but I would call ahead to talk to them on how you want your hair done. Annie was very communicative and open to discussion. Products were high quality and they dried my hair with a Dyson hair wrap. Because this was treatments focused, there wasn't a lot of time remaining for drying/styling so if that's important to you, I'd mention it (it wasn't to me so I was fine with it). I don't live in the area, but highly recommend it to people who do. I'm so glad I finally went to a head spa that didn't straighten my hair, had diffusers, and knew to add some oil at the end to make sure my hair stayed hydrated for longer. This wasn't an issue for me, but their treatment area is upstairs so be careful if you have mobility issues. Otherwise can't recommend this place enough! read more

I had an excellent experience at Transforms Head & Beauty Spa with Annie, the Head Therapist. She started out with analyzing my hair- I had just taken a shower, so my scalp was clean with the exception of a few dry flakes! There were no angry red patches, which she informed me can be caused by restlessness/poor sleep quality. Overall she said my scalp and hair was healthy, even the bleached portions of it (since I have partial highlights). I initially booked the Korean hair care treatment but decided to upgrade to the Japanese purifying scalp treatment since they mentioned that the hair product being used penetrates the hair strand and follicle a lot deeper than the Korean product. It was also around 15 minutes longer and cost $30 more, I wasn't in a rush so I decided to go for it. She started off with a deep scalp massage to increase bloodflow and worked her way down to my shoulders with massage oil, asking if I was comfortable the entire time and if she needed to go lighter or harder on the pressure. She then put a self-heating eye mask over my eyes, it was so comfortable! She proceeded to work all the scalp product into my hair. The water got on my eye mask and it got a bit soggy, but that wasn't a big deal. She then asked me how I wanted to style my hair, straight or curly. I opted for curly and I love it! She proceeded to style my hair with the Dyson Airwrap. They've stayed intact for over a day and are so cute. I would definitely come back here if I had time. The women here speak Cantonese and Mandarin and are incredibly friendly. read more

After confirming our services, they took my mom upstairs for her facial and I stayed downstairs to start my scalp therapy. I won't go into step-by-step details about the service, but I will say that the before and after of my scalp was eye opening and I truly felt like this experience was well worth the money. The store is very modern, clean, and well decorated for the holidays. We worked with Annie and Amelie and although both speak English well (Amelie moderately better than Annie's), I do think that you would benefit the most if you spoke Mandarin. They gave me a very detailed explanation of my scalp's condition and what they recommended I do to improve my scalp quality. The treatment itself was 60 minutes including a face massage, neck and shoulder massage, head massage, shampoo twice, conditioner, and wrapping it up with a small back massage. I've been dealing with dry, flaky scalp for months after switching hair products, so I booked a Moroccan Hydrating Scalp Treatment here on a coworker's suggestion. Amelie walked me through a 10-minute pre-treatment consult first, asking about my scalp sensitivities and recent hair routine before starting. She used a mint-infused exfoliant first that didn't sting at all, then massaged the hydrating mask in for 15 minutes before letting it sit under a steamer. What an amazing experience! I took my mom here for her birthday on 12/31 and it was our first time at a head spa. The spa was very clean and looked so relaxing. We sat and waited a couple minutes and there was water and cookies on the table. They had us sit down and they immediately did a scalp analysis and WOW. I recently had eye surgery and couldn't wash my hair on my own for a while, so I decided to try a head spa. I had great experiences at Transforms. Angela, who took care of me, was super warm and attentive. I have very thick, coarse hair, and she did a great job deep cleaning my scalp and taking care of my hair, it felt much better afterward. All of their dryers and styling tools are Dyson. They also check your scalp condition both before and after the treatment, and fair warning: seeing the "before" can be a little shocking.
