Following my previous review, Kaitlin (the manager or owner) reached out to address our concerns and invited us back for another session. We stopped in on a Sunday evening, and I'm delighted to say that I was very pleased with the experience this time around. I opted for the 40/40 combo (40-minute foot/40-minute body) and had Heidi as my therapist. She led me to a dedicated foot massage room that where the ambiance was quiet, relaxing, and clean. While there weren't privacy curtains, the layout provided enough space to not feel like we were packed in like sardines - something most other foot massage places do. I especially appreciated that the staff didn't chat during the session and having a dedicated room with a door really helped minimize outside noise. Heidi did a fantastic job and I actually fell asleep during my session. The body massage was excellent. Heidi had the proper cadence and flow for each stroke, which was a stark contrast to my previous visit where the therapist simply rubbed oil up and down like they were washing my back rather than massaging the muscle. She also checked in periodically to ensure the pressure was right, showing she was truly in tune with her craft. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars was due to a few minor points: 1) I wasn't asked about my trouble spots beforehand. On the way out, I noticed a clipboard for clients to circle focus areas, but I was never offered one at check-in. 2) Having to move rooms mid-session was a slight inconvenience. 3) The ergonomics of the foot massage chair weren't ideal as it put a lot of pressure on my lower back, despite having the small lumbar support. read more

The massage therapist was very efficient and had soft hands though seemed that the technique was very standard as if counting the number of movements for each part of foot and also the body. We took a chance on Cloud 9 Foot Spa in Burlingame based upon the numerous good reviews on Yelp and came away satisfied with our experience. The "spa" name is a little misleading in its name as the vibe and ambiance of this establishment is almost nonexistence. If you get a foot massage or a combination of some sort, you'll find yourself sitting in a large communal room along with six or seven other patrons. Okay by mall standards, but for somewhere with "spa" in its name, I would hope each would have its own room, but that's neither here or there. The massage was good, but like others have mentioned we weren't asked for our pressure preference and while luckily came away with a good massage, I would have liked more with the experience. Also, during my massage there was a gentlemen that was snoring pretty loudly which made it both bothersome and humorous. Overall, I would recommend this establishment if you're in the mood for a good massage, but if you want more pampering you might want to look elsewhere. read more

Surprisingly not great. We arrived on time for our 10am appointment, but there was a lot of confusion among the staff. We eventually learned that the front desk person was late, and no one else could assist us. We were finally placed into a room about 15-20 minutes after our scheduled time. Once the couples massage began, I noticed I wasn't asked about pressure preferences, areas of focus, or any other details. The masseuse just started working. We booked a 90 minute shiatsu massage, but it felt more like a deep tissue session, which I didn't want at all. The facility itself was clean, but the bathroom was out of soap, and the massage room lacked any relaxing ambiance. There was no music, and we could clearly hear conversations in the hallway and lobby throughout the session, not what I would expect at any establishment. If you're looking for a truly relaxing experience, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Also, make sure they provide you with the intake form to specify your preferences, something we never received. I booked a day of appointment online. I opted for a hot stone massage and I went with Cindy. Upon walking in, I noticed the storefront to be very clean. When you check in, make sure you state which masseur you have scheduled with to ensure that no mistakes occur. There were a couple of couches for you to sit and wait as well as a water and tea dispenser. The hot stone massage was $80 before tip and honestly so worth it. Cindy was very attentive and would check in when applying pressure to ensure that it wasn't too hard or soft. I told her that I have some lower back pain/injury and she was very careful with that area. What I enjoyed most about the massage was that Cindy really incorporates the hot stones. I felt like with other experiences I've had at other places, they do not really use the hot stones as much. She would use it and lay it on the back, do some more massaging and then go back and grab more hot stones/ swap it out. As for the room itself, it was a tad small. It was not too much of an issue since you're laying in the bed but I can tell/hear when she had to walk around certain objects to get around the room. The spa music was a little low so you can hear the noises outside the door unfortunately. The room and bed was nice and warm and dark enough to create a relaxing atmosphere. Today, January 3, 2025, my wife treated me to a visit to this place, which we've been to twice before. It's a decent spot, but today was exceptional. Both of us had great therapists. My wife mentioned that her therapist, Jenny, was excellent, and I found my therapist, Jerry, to be outstanding. Everyone's experience is different, but when I explained the type of treatment I was looking for, Jerry delivered exactly what I needed. This was one of the two best massages I've ever had ~ the other being at the Lotte Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam, back in 2018. Additionally, the young lady from Mills High School who works at Oceanic Massage is phenomenal. This is a decent spa with reasonable prices. They have specials where if you pay cash you get a discount. The problem is they never have any change and expect you to bring exact change. I find the front desk to be unhelpful and sometimes that one woman can be downright unhelpful and not a people person. I feel that businesses, if they want cash, should be able to offer change. They also had a couple of black friday specials where they had 20% off giftcard purchases. I've had their one hour foot massage which needed more pressure, and they'll do it for a little while, then revert back to the same. I also came here for a massage for my tight neck and shoulder, and it was all elbows. It's classy and zen in presentation and it's quiet with no yelling or talking loudly while you zen out and try to get de stressed . ( honestly prefer quiet when I get my nails done too ..which I don't do often because I work with kids) So many foot spas are loud with talking, laughing and people on the phone. This spa keeps the noise down which is a very important part of relaxing. This loud noise rule includes not only employees and customers but also owners , custodial , front desk and managers. It's very easy to book an appointment (even last minute if you're not particular about your massage therapist), the environment is relaxing, clean, and quiet, and their prices are very reasonable. There are lots of services to choose from. I prefer to get the hour long foot massage which also includes 20 minutes on your back, arms, and legs. I have had a few different massage therapists, and all of them have been good in their own way. Sophia gives a relaxing massage, Jerry always checks in and asks how the pressure is, and Kelly gives a very firm massage. There seems to be something for everyone!
