    Shut down jungle

This waterpark gave a discounted rate of $35 a person. However, there was only 1 waterslide working, the hot tub was broken and Jungle falls was shut down on day 2 of being at the water park. The website should include a list of broken rides so that buyers know what to expect. There was also a 50 minute wait for overpriced food and many of the bathrooms were out of order.

Getting ready to enjoy lunch. Hot dog ,fries, bacon and cheese fries, chicken sandwich.

Great place. My husband and I took out 11 yr old son, 3 yr old grandson and our 6 yr old granddaughter and they had a great time. Lots of fun in the water park, wave pool, slides, little kiddie area. The food was pricey but everything tastes good. Hot dogs, fries, chicken sandwiches. There was pizza available and other items. We all loved this water park and had a great day! We recommend it.

One of two hot tubs advertised.

H2Oooohh is a great example of what happens when marketing and sales take a severe departure from the reality of a product. The water park does have water; unfortunately, none of it is in any of the hot tubs the park falsely advertises as operational. Where there is water, it's a very cool 77°, which is a great air temperature, but cold for water. The park advertises three water slides, only one of which is running, and it isn't the fun one. What happened? H2Ooohh appears to be a failed experiment in attaching an indoor water park to a time share development. Time share owners are forever trying to either get rid of their time shares or reduce the annual maintenance costs they're obligated to pay for the rest of their lives. No doubt the cost of upkeep for a water park they are free to enjoy for all of one week a year was among the first cuts every owner targeted after their first maintenance bill showed up in the mail. As a result, here we are, years later, with a cold, barely functioning water park that our kids almost enjoyed for about ten minutes. (I did add an extra star to my one-star review because the surf machine was working, though only for short periods due to understaffing.)

    This place is so dead

I would rate it a 0 but that's not possible so I give it a 1. This is the worst experience I have ever had at a waterpark in my life. I used to come here as a kid all the time and I would get sick after EVERYTIME. Now fast forward a few years later I have decided to give it another chance. I was looking foward to stepping in the nice warm hot tub but guess what. It was closed. Along with the 2/3 water slides and play gym. On top of that the water in the pool was colder than the water I shower with. This place is a complete waste of money that no one should spend . I would have rather went anywhere else if the tickets weren't sold out.

    Wave pool

This place is great for the price. We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights on Presidents' Day weekend and paid $410 total. The water park is worn, but again, it was worth the price. I will say that 2 of the 3 water slides are broken. I was told by employees that they have been broken for a while. The drink were a little pricey, but I brought my own. Just sneak a soft sided cooler in. The pizza was reasonable and easy to feed my kid. Get there early to get chairs or tables, if not....good luck waiting. Surfing thing was really cool. I would go back again in a heartbeat. If you have been to the other local water parks before, this place will probably disappoint as its only 1/4 the size of Kalahari.

Among the staff, Griffin at the front counter was a pleasure to work with. CONS: they charge you extra to use the common amenities (pool, gym, arcade, etc) and then extra on top of that for the water park. The electronic room key also failed and the carpet in our room wasn't clean. The line for check in took a solid 20 minutes. Longer than any other place I've been to. We also found a few bugs in our room OVERALL: not sure if I would come back here. The staff and the amount of amenities was amazing, but the cleanliness and the prices are very questionable

Do not stay here. The only positive thing I can say about this "resort" is that the staff is…read morefriendly and at least handles all of the complaints from customers with grace. My parents traded their time share to stay here and reserved a two bedroom suite with two queen beds in one room and a jetted tub in the master with a king bed. Upon arrival, they were given a one bedroom with an adjoining room with twin beds and charged a $400 resort fee because there were technically two different rooms. They have never had to pay a resort fee at any other resort they've traded their time share for. That was issue number one. Later which we found out we had booked the room that was over at the willowbrook yet they put us in an entirely different room even after we complained. They said they were "looking into it" but never ended up moving us. The rooms were dirty and kitchen lacking even an oven mitt, dish towel, or even a sponge. The glasses and dishes put away were clearly dirty. So we tried to run the dishwasher, shortly after we realized it was leaking as the carpet next to and behind it was soaked. Maintenance was called and the man simply looked at it and said it wasn't leaking even after feeling the damp floor. The next day we complained again and then they sent three men to replace it with another old dishwasher likely from a different room. Also, in our entire weeks stay. I only saw one maid, once. She was vacuuming the downstairs lobby. Meanwhile, the entire second floor and on looks like it's never seen a vacuum. That was the second issue. The worst part about the entire trip was the "resort amenities" that I assumed were part of the ridiculous $400 fee...as you can see from the photos, the tiles above the pool and bowling alley were riddled with water damage and mold. One tile even fell on a man's head while swimming in the pool! I even went to the front desk to let them know that a tile had fallen into the pool in the hopes they would clean it...and the lady at the front desk just said "here are the pool hours" so I don't think she understood me. Most of the staff doesn't speak English very well though not for lack of trying and they are very nice. The hot tub literally had a layer of film on it and wasn't hot. For this reason we chose not to swim. We stayed for a whole week and by the end of the week...the tiles were still laying at the bottom of the pool. Also, the bar and the water park were closed with the exception of one day during our entire week stay. The only thing to do was go to the arcade (which obviously still cost us money) The bowling alley also had leaking ceiling tiles. They simply put a bucket under it and it was still there nearly a week later when we check out. The water park was even more disgusting than the regular pool. Not to mention half of it was closed off. This resort looks like it was once really great back when they had enough staff and money to maintain it properly. The website and pamphlets show what the resort USED to look like and are not updated. It's a shame because if they put money into repairs to restore it to its former glory, it would be a great place to stay again. This place needs new owners willing to repair it because as is, it should be HEAVILY discounted. If you're going to spend that much, go somewhere nicer and cleaner. Do not stay here. I cannot believe how much they charge with almost nothing open or working. Throughout our stay we overheard many people complaining about broken air conditioning, non working elevators, tiles falling, things not working, things not being open, and the general condition of the place. I feel bad for the employees that have to deal with all the complaints. I can only imagine how the owners treat them with how little they seem to care about customers. I'm honestly shocked they're still in business. Do better!

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere that felt both family-friendly and tailored to adults. The water park was a huge hit with our two girls, offering a wide array of slides that catered to all ages. Whether it was the thrilling rides or the relaxing wave pool, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained. One standout feature of our trip was the food. In previous resort experiences, we've often found ourselves disappointed by the dining options, but Kalahari shattered those expectations! The variety and quality of meals were truly exceptional. From quick snacks and Starbucks coffee, to gourmet meals at one of their multiple restaurants, every bite was delicious. It was refreshing to find such a diverse menu that pleased my wife, the kids, and me. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout of the resort. It was easy to find comfortable places to relax, and while it did take some hunting , we did manage to find a table each day. The array of jacuzzis was another bonus, with both family-friendly and 21-and-over options. Overall, our stay at Kalahari Resort Poconos was filled with fun and memorable moments. I'm still here at Kalahari Pocono Pines…read more Day-1 We arrived Monday morning at 10 AM. Check-in was fairly easy because there was virtually no one else here yet. When I passed the check-in 2-hours later... The line was very long and the same person was working. They definitely need more people there. I went to use the ladies room after checking in and it was extremely dirty. The cleaning cart was there with no attendant. Went to the indoor waterpark which opens at 10 AM because it's raining outside. The outside was closed. It's the usual indoor waterpark nothing special. The Jacuzzi. Where can I begin? It is an indoor outdoor Jacuzzi. Meaning, you can go straight from the inside through a passageway into the outside. On the inside section.... Only 3-lame-jets were working. PACKED With kids. Outdoor section NONE of the jets were on. I asked the "lifeguard" why the Jets were not on. He said do you want them on? I asked him if he knew the difference between a Jacuzzi and a pool of hot water. He said he would turn them on ... he never did. I cannot emphasize enough, how many children were in there. From a few months old to pre-teens. Horsing around.... I scooped this one girl up that was about to drown 4-years old. She was allegedly being watched by her 12-year-old sister. Her mother was so grateful. Why is the mother not watching her own 4-year-old? I am appalled by this Jacuzzi experience. Hey Kalahari.. Do you think you can have something just for adults? Do the kids not have enough activities to enjoy? No? Do you know how "unhealthy" A Jacuzzi is for children? They have these rules for the kids in the Jacuzzi. Nobody is adhering to those rules, not even the lifeguards. What lifeguard? Jacuzzis are for adults!!!!!!!! We had the buffet for breakfast. We arrived at 11 AM. They close at 12 noon. It was $30 for adults. And $20 for kids under 12. By the time we got there It was slim Pickens. You should not charge me the same amount as everybody else who got more variety before me. Was not impressed with the buffet at all. On the upside. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Except of course, for the lifeguard who doesn't know the difference between a Jacuzzi and a tub full of hot water. And most importantly, is not adhering to the rules setforth for children in the Jacuzzi. I saved a kid from drowning today.... He should be fired. We will be checking out tomorrow at the prescribed 11 AM. I will add to this review at that time.

I regretted it right away. It's ridiculously crowded - no problem with parking as they sure made extra space in the back, but driving to the back woods parking lot I was afraid we were gonna hit someone cos of people walking indifferently on the paths. The tiny "beach" is made of hard packed sand, the texture of a dirt road. There are many garbage cans around, which, I appreciate that as there's nothing worse than trash on the ground, but I also don't want to be sitting next to one. There are some picnic tables in the further grassy areas that seemed more chill but the tables close to the water could not be crammed any closer together. The water where kids are playing in is murky and gross looking, as to be expected cos sediments stir up, but this just does not look clean and is way too full of people. And I would not call this a water park - it's a lake with some dingy play structures on it and some boat rides. There also don't seem to be enough lifeguards for this many kids. Summer prices (July 1-Aug 20) are $20pp over 9yo, and $18 for under 9, but you have to pay additionally for the water slides ($13-$17) and other activities. You might as well take your family to a proper waterpark for this price. Maybe once upon a time it was cute as people seem to have nostalgic memories of this place (and they definitely trade on the camp nostalgia), but it seems the park operator is only interested in packing in as many people as possible to the detriment of the experience. There is good live music with a guy playing old time rock n roll, they have hash browns yay (3 for $2.50), and my toddler had fun regardless of my lack of enjoyment or relaxation, hence the extra star.

Here are 3 things that made the park a horrible experience. 1) The staff at the ride pass counter snapped at my kids after we were waiting in line for 30 minutes just to get wristbands. We bought all day passes online. We arrive at the park and had to wait in a long chaotic line just to get our ride pass in the form of wristbands. We get to the counter and the staff lady is obviously rushed. She's trying to put wristbands on my kids. One of them gets distracted and not paying attention. She snaps at her to get her wrist which was terrible. This park needs to shorten the wait lines for the passes and train staff to be more patient with kids. 2) A staff at the helicopter ride for toddlers and young kids kept constantly yelling at kids to get off a fence. We were waiting in line for this ride with a bunch of other kids with their parents, and the staff lady operating the ride started yelling at the young kids who were standing on a fence because they couldn't see the ride over the fence. They were not tall enough to fall over to the other side nor heavy enough to damage it. The park needs to train staff to not yell at kids from across the ride. The lady should walk over since she didn't even start the ride, and speak respectfully to the kids or their parents to get them to step down from the fence. The constant yelling was demeaning, lazy, and unprofessional. 3) At the last ride of the night, the staff refused access to my wife and 1.5 year old son because the supervisor decided to close the ride a few minutes early. I was waiting in line with my 3 older kids and we wanted to enjoy this last ride together as a family and it was completely ruined because the staff arbitrarily decided to cut the time short even though it was not closing time yet. It was close to 9pm and we were all tired and I didn't want to argue with the staff so we let it go but I spoke to the staff after the ride ended she just kept blaming her supervisor and kept saying it was past 9pm when my wife and knew it was not because I was watching my phone until she arrived. She had to push the stroller to a safe spot and unstrap my son out of the stroller but after all that, the staff just rejected her appeal. It was so callous and cold hearted of her to do that. It was very mean and rude. I'm so ANGRY with how this staff treated my wife and son. This park needs to train its staff to correctly read the time, follow its own rules, and treat parents and kids with a better attitude.
