I really like this place for many reasons. First it's just comfortable, the servers are sweet. Second the prices are decent and the value for the serving size is worth the price. Lastly, the food is very tasty. I don't think there are any dishes that I have tried that I don't like. Each table has the delicious traditional sauces Hoisin, Siracha and the spicy garlic hot chili sauce. I have been to this location many times and the dishes are delicious. My favorite is number 33, Charcoal grilled lemongrass shrimp, chicken and pork slices, it comes with tender baby rice and a salad with a light dressing. This was some of the weirdest Vietnamese food I've ever had. I had the veggie soft spring rolls (they were called something cryptic) and a vegetarian bun. The spring rolls were fine -- heavy on rice noodles, and light on other fillings. But the bun was where things got weird -- clumpy rice noodles, topped with tofu, carrots...and broccoli? And the sauce to pour on top was very heavy on soy sauce. Not awesome. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. And, in fact, even if it were right smack dab in my way, I might not go back. read more

Midtown is filled with lots of wonderful Vietnamese restaurants because of the university but to come out east and find a contender that's a pleasant surprise. They of course have pho and spring rolls but they also have great stir fry and curry dishes. Great lunch specials. They are cautious about the virus and ask for people to call for reservations. The appetizers, summer rolls and dumplings are light, flavorful and leave you wanting more. We particularly like their fa soups loaded White meat chicken breast, lean beef thinly sliced. This place is extremely close to my house. I've always been tempted to come here but due to the two dollar signs I steered away. A few friends recommended this place as having really good Boba tea. So I came here not really knowing what to expect since I never had Boba tea. Let me tell you, it is delicious. I am so incredibly glad that my first Boba experience was here. The cashier was extremely nice, they had a reading area and the Boba made me feel luxurious and like I was out of town. I had the taro flavor and my husband had the mango. This place was good, it wasn't anything special that I have ever been to. I'm from SoCal and it really doesn't compare to the Vietnamese food out there but it's ok. Compared to Miss Saigon, I would have to go with Miss Saigon and here's why: For appetizers my girlfriend and I ordered their Fresh Summer Roll (spring roll w/ peanut dipping sauce) and their Vietnamese Crunchy Roll (Egg rolls w/ fish dipping sauce). -Their summer rolls were LOADED with noodles and not much pork, shrimp or lettuce! It was ALL noodles. If I wanted noodles I would've ordered Pho. -Their egg rolls, I've gotta say were pretty good BUT they only gave you 2 pieces and they cut them in halves. These egg rolls are TINY to begin with and to cut them in halves is like eating only a sample at Costco! I can order Miss Saigon's egg rolls and it comes with 4-5 WHOLE pieces and they are decent but the taste doesn't beat Ha Long Bay's. For my main entre I ordered Bun Ha Long Bay Special. It has white noodles with shrimp, grilled pork, lemongrass chicken and some egg rolls with fish sauce to pour over the meal. This is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and I wanna say that it was good but not great. Their chicken didn't really have much flavor to them but the fish sauce made up for the lack of taste. My girlfriend got the Pan Stir Fried Soft Egg Noodle- assorted seafood entre (shrimp, scallops, squid). My girlfriend liked the dish but said it wasn't as tasty as she would've liked and was hoping for more seafood in it...but overall she liked it. I tasted her plate and it tasted a little bland to me, but I guess putting soy sauce helps with that. I wanna say that Ha Long Bay is good but I won't come here for the dishes we ordered this time around, which was not very satisfying. Impressed! Tried the traditional Pho beef soup with noodles, thinly sliced beef, mild broth, and green onion. On the side they bring cilantro, sliced jalapeño and bean sprouts to add if you wish. I added a teaspoon of the hot chili sauce and sweet plum sauce. The only part I wad t a fan of was the beef tendon, but it added to the flavor. So quiet these days everywhere one looks and the parking lots around Ha Long Bay reflected that. We used on-line ordering for pick up through their website and were delighted in every way! The ordering menu is simple to use, our orders going into a cart for check out. We had pretty standard fare, summer rolls, lettuce wraps with grilled shrimp and a bun with grilled pork and shrimp paste. There's also a box for special instructions when you order, so we asked for extra peanut sauce. Simply couldn't be better, especially in the obvious thought that went into loading the take-out containers. The web page provides a time when an order will be ready and they nailed that. All three dishes were delicious, and, sure enough, there was that extra little tub of peanut sauce, too! I was so happy to have found the new (and improved) location! Everything that I knew and loved from before with a few additions. We started out with summer rolls and teas. I love the taro bubble tea, it has a cool purple color and tastes nutty delicious. For dinner we had the house special pho, garlic green beans with tofu, chicken basil curry and vegetables. I especially liked the tofu with green beans. The tofu was cooked perfectly and crispy on the outside with spices. The green beans were dry roasted/sautéed in a garlic sauce. Wanting to help the local independent restaurants our family did a on line order from Ha Long Bay last night. I've been there before many times so I knew the food would be very good. I went in to pick the order up and ask for the order by my first name. The lady said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I waited in my car and she brought it out. Got home had the wrong order. Called the restaurant told them ,they said they tried calling,however it was my daughter who placed tHe order and used her name and phone number. I've been here several times with large parties and as a couple. The service never disappoints (even on a Friday!) and the food is great so I keep coming back! The last time I ordered from Ha Long Bay they were down by Speedway Blvd. Tonight I found myself near their new location and I was excited to order from them. Never again. Not only was the order wrong, some of the food was inedible. It was dry, overcooked, and tasteless. The Pho was substandard and also lacking flavor. They have toys and books in the waiting are which I thought was a great idea to distract the hangry people while waiting. The food was great. First time having Pho. We were looking for a place that served gluten free meals for our daughter with Celiac. The young waiter was great and knowledgeable.
