I am on the hunt for the ultimate popcorn chicken and this place was a complete DISAPPOINTMENT!! I ordered delivery (this was the second time and I rely on it due to being disabled) and tried to call the restaurant at least 8 times (because there is no place in the DD app to request anything) but there was no answer. I asked my delivery person to ask for extra seasoning powder for the chicken and he advised me that they refused. Without the seasoning powder they put on the side, the chicken is very boring!! I also ordered the tater tots and they were boring as well. Since they don't really care about customer service, this will be my last order and wont be giving them any more of my money. I remember the first time I came during pandemic, they only took order and served the drink via the small front window. Beside boba milk tea, they also have fruit tea, small bites. LOVE this place! We visited from San Diego and this was recommended by my local friends. It's hard to find a boba place that also has non caffeine options for the kiddos (or preggo mamas) and the mango drink we ordered wasnt too sweet for my toddler and she truly did not want to share . Their food/snack options are excellent- we got chicken karage and the egg salad sando and both were delicious. Recommend getting these! The bread on the egg salad was super soft! I decided to try the Pacific Heights: seasonal pineapple and lime fruit tea, uses jasmine tea. I set it to easy (30) sweet, easy ice, and I opted for a straw which is compostable. At the time, it would have costed $0.85 more if wanted to upgrade to large. You can order with a kiosk in the store, and it was made within 3 minutes. Ok so I'm really annoyed. I ordered an egg sandwhich with my drinks. And when I walked back to work and pulled the sandwich out to eat, it felt super dry and rough. Like it's been sitting out to dry for at LEAST a day, maybe 2. I've eaten from here once before and the bread is usually really soft and moist. I couldn't walk back to complain, because I was working, so I tried to call. Nobody picks up. I called probably 3x before I decided to leave a message. I explained the issue and left my phone number for them to return my call. Nothing. By the time I was done with my day, they were already closed. You would think they would want to fix this issue- but no. Never received a call back. Never supporting this business again. Drinks were good so not a complete loss. We were looking for boba shops in the are and decided to give District Tea a try. Parking is difficult to find, it's a very busy area. Luckily, I was with my siblings and they went to order the drinks while I waited in the car. I got the Hong Kong Milk Tea and thought that it was quite average. It tasted a little water down as well. I had an amazing time at District Tea. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with hospitality and quick service. I wasn't sure what I should order from their menu because they have a variety of options so I asked for a recommendation. The katsu sando and the mung bean latte were recommended to me so I ordered those two. The katsu sando was the perfect size for a quick bite and was crispy and juicy with just the right amount of filling inside. Some places stuff their katsu sando so much that the filling falls out and makes it messy to eat but this had the perfect amount for me. The mung bean latte was not too sweet and tasted amazing, like I was eating a mung bean ice cream! You could tell they used real mung beans to make the latte and not any powder or syrups. As a heads up for people visiting for the first time, there isn't a sit-down area with chairs inside but it's very clean and spacious, especially for those who would like to stand inside to wait for their drinks and food instead of waiting outside on the street in the sun. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. There's not much free street parking but if you're nearby Dolores Park or on Valencia Street, it's definitely worth the walk to get a snack and drink from here! read more

This Boba spot has been on my list for sometime so when my friends came into the city we came here for some Boba and snacks. The popcorn chicken was on point, nice and hot. We ordered the iced Grass jelly, hot sweet potato latte, and hot Hojicha tea crema. The ice grass jelly was pretty tasty although quite sweet even with low sugar we were impressed with the sweet potato latte. It was really good, slightly sweet but not overpowering. Even though I did not get the Hojicha with milk, the salted caramel cream was strong enough to taste like milk tea. The service was quick. The place was to go only, no table nothing. It was cold outside, so we actually ate by the counter. I think it would be nice to have some standing tables available. Everything was great, but for almost 7 dollars a drink for a tiny cup was not worth it. We strongly feel like the drinks with that price should be automatically the large. read more

Been to District Tea a few times now and the drinks are always incredible. The matcha drinks are great and also the Sunset District. On a side note, they might have changed their sauce in their Spam Musubi. It definitely tastes better than before. Popcorn chicken was also super crispy! It seemed like they had just started preparing it, which I understand since they want to serve fresh food. However, I would've appreciated it if the order was ready when I arrived, as it was placed in advance. Popcorn Chicken - must be eaten right away or else it will get soggy. A hot HK milk tea sounded like a solid choice. It turned out to be the perfect thing to warm us up while we walked around the Mission. They also offer to remake any drink that you might not like which I found to be really nice and made it less scary to find something new to try. I tried their Green Thai Milk tea with crema + agar boba and it hit the spot! It had the perfect balance from the strong flavors of the green Thai tea leaves and the salty/sweetness from the crema. Their popcorn chicken was also very solid. Great spot for boba in the Mission! The service was wonderful - we felt well taken care of in the shop. The popcorn chicken was SO good and the spicy powder that came with it. The egg salad sandwich was also done well - soft bread and very flavorful. We both got lychee based teas and it came with bits of lychee which is a nice touch (you don't get this at many spots). This place has an unassuming exterior but is very welcoming once you walk in! Though the menu might seem a bit overwhelming, the staff were very helpful in helping me decide. Ultimately, I chose my go-to peach tea latte with boba and the boba pearls were perfection and 30% sweet was just right. My friend had the mung bean (pandan) latte and that was extremely good! I will probably go back for that. We also had the popcorn chicken and I was surprisingly satisfied with the portion. I liked the spicy dipping sauce that came with it. I visited in the summer. For starters, I ordered a mason jar mug because I'm a collector for reusable boba cups and they skipped it entirely. I had to wait a few minutes to even get the attention of the worker and tell it to them, to which they simply looked at the order and said "oh you did" and handed me one. No apology, no emotion, as if I was being told "here you go, get out of here." I can understand a long, busy day or whatever, but stuff like this definitely leaves an impression. Hong Kong Milk Tea with Boba - boba was alright, a bit too soft as if overcooked. Not a lot of flavor with the boba either. Flavor wise, the boba was average and on par with a lot of boba here. Tea was pretty strong and powerful in the drink. I threw away the cup with some boba left but finished the drink so I loved the tea but would skip the boba. Decided to try a new boba place after dinner and came to District Tea! Very simple shop, no tables or chairs inside. Not too pricey as well. I got the Golden Oolong Tea Crema with no sugar and boba. The tea was pretty fragrant, but I would've liked it a little stronger but that just might be the type of tea. I was pleasantly surprised by the cream on top. It was very creamy with a hint of sweetness and a hint of saltiness that was not overpowering but instead complimented the drink. Would definitely recommend mixing the tea in in the beginning. The boba was chewy and nicely sweetened - what you would expect from a well-cooked boba. The drink was pretty light which was exactly what I was looking for. The Iced Grass Jelly drink on the other hand was not worth it. It was basically grass jelly + condensed milk + milk. Overwhelmingly sweet to the point where we just ended up scooping out the grass jelly to eat. Would not recommend that drink. Overall, a pretty standard boba shop with lots of options. The mung bean latte is more of a smoothie milk mix so you won't choke on any mung beans when you sip. The Sunset District was a little bit plain, but I could taste the Jasmine tea with a distinct fruit puree.
