I picked them up on a Saturday to eat on Sunday. On Sunday when I opened the package I was met with the smell I feared I may. It's like meat you buy at a grocery store that is on the sale by date and usually get for a discount. The meat is not spoiled but has an off taste to it. That's how these smelled and sadly tasted. I sent an email to the store and they apologized and offered me free replacements. I went back and when o got to the meat counter the Pattie's were a bright red. I was excited. I brought these home and cooked them and they are absolutely amazing. I believe they were 10.99 a pound which for the quality of the beef, it's not much more than a grocery store. The grind on these Pattie's were absolutely amazing. Best texture for a hamburger I ever had. The flavor is excellent as well. These are grass fed and grain finished beef and have a different and different flavor than standard grocery store beef which is normally fed straight grain. I highly recommend this butcher shop. They also have great looking steaks which again are a bit more than grocery store steaks but the flavor difference of grass fed beef is worth it.

The ribeyes, filets, and much more... One thing I love about this place is the uniqueness of the guts. You can get hanger steak, Wagyu, Denver, steak, fresh from the farm lamb tenderloin, fresh from the ranch pork chops that taste completely different... I really appreciate the customer service here as well , the guys are always very friendly and in a good mood . The other important thing here is that you can get very fresh fish, from Icelandic Arctic char to the best tasting Samaan around.

Let me start with the cheesesteak. I am a firm believer that an amazing cheesesteak has to nail the 3 components: 1) quality meat, 2) gooiness of the cheese, 3) freshness of the roll. Harvey's nailed the meat. The gooiness of the cheese was inconsistent but I do like their take on their own wiz. The roll was eh. Also, the onions were just thrown into the meat instead of being car elided on the flat grill. I think what really took my by surprised was the staff. The cook seemed to be on break eating while I waited for my order. Now it was a little dead in Union Market. I showed up around 5ish on a Friday night. But I was a little caught off guard when watching the staff during the making of my sandwich. Just expected a higher standard. If I lived in the area, I love the availability of getting fresh quality cuts of meat as they have available for your viewing pleasure. Their menu of sandwiches available here still look great. But now that I've tried their cheesesteak, I don't feel the need to stop for it again.

I used to get my Indian/ Pakistani/ Desi food supplies from Halal Co or the strip of Bengali grocery stores on Lee Highway, so having something closer to home in Arlington where I can stock up on Shan Masala, frozen kabobs, good basmati rice, rose water, and desi yogurt is SUCH a game changer! They have fresh desi desserts like barfi, and they have fresh Middle Eastern deserts like baklava. They even have some Arab essentials (like Lebna, Bulgarian cheese, and gibna beyda) and they have a smattering of fresh veggies and fruits. Its a great little store, and is only marginally hard to find because its located on the back of a plaza off of Columbia Pike (a few doors down from LA Bar). I only wish they would stock halal beef bacon and turkish merve soujek and then my middle eastern grocery shopping needs would be complete :)
