I purchased two avocados at Fresh World on 03/06/26 at 08:44 PM, as shown on my receipt. From the outside they looked fine, but when I cut them open the next morning (03/07/26 around 11:00 AM) both of them were completely spoiled inside -- dark, moldy, and clearly inedible. What makes this situation even more ironic is the message printed on the store's bag: "Always FRESH!". Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. This isn't really about the money. The amount is small. The issue is that customers should not be sold produce that is already rotten inside. If a store promotes "Always Fresh," there should be proper quality control to ensure the products on the shelf actually meet that promise. I hope someone from Fresh World's management or marketing team reaches out to address this situation, offer the appropriate apology, and refund the purchase. Regardless of the price, customers should not have to pay for food that is already spoiled. I'm sharing this so other shoppers are aware and can check their produce carefully when buying from this store. read more

Some good items TERRIBLE customer service I have been coming to the store for years and today was the first time I came to return product they falsely advertised in the store. Came to the store with receipt and the product - which I bought 3 of and was not cheap- and Jumona (sp?), a rep at customer service desk quickly stated this product is not returnable due to various store policies. There's a hidden gem inside the Springfield Fresh World that has delicious duck. I believe half a duck was around $30 and whole around $50, and a cash discount is offered. The duck and the sauce it came with was sooo good. My friend got the pork, and she brought a bag of bones for bone broth for a few bucks so that was a steal. read more

Never come back here again. I thought the group in front of me complete the check out, not yet, sudden the Mom, Mad and Grandmo 1-by-1 trying to get in front of me and holding up the line . They even resting their groceries on mine and waiting for another family member come up to check out. The cashier boy and bagging service girl not even stop them or saying sorry to me. I have mixed feelings. I think this is probably the best fresh seafood option in Northern Virginia with a wide variety of different types of fish. This is also a great destination for Asian, Latin, and Indian food items, but the customer service is poor and I felt discriminated against by the security. It was so weird. Initially I was like is this guy trying to hit on me or something because he was following me and then once I realized he was security, I was like you've got to be kidding me. I had already had my red snapper gutted or I would've left without purchasing anything. Virginia like many areas has pockets of ignorant racists and this is sadly no exception. Appearance should not matter, but racial profiling a 40+ year old impeccably dressed black woman in a supermarket is beyond me. Being the international market enthusiast that I am, I've routinely shopped very many in the area including: Lotte HMart LA Mart Jumbo Red Apple Central Supermercado Megamart Latino Bestway Most tend to be Korean or Hispanic inspired, but I've been to a bunch of other smaller neighborhood ones from African to Indian to Persian and many others. I love the variety and uniqueness of international markets and have even visited them in other cities on travel. You can often find really good deals at many of these markets as well vs. the huge brand named grocery stores. The surprise of not knowing what you may find is exciting. Now add FreshWorld. Had never heard of it. Foodie friend of mine told me about it the day before and I went the next morning. Wow. Nice. Big. Very welll merchandised, smells good, customer service section, aisles numbered + organized by region, and even has some of the most unique produce I've seen at any international market. The seafood section is vast and the prices are really good so I'm adding this to my go-to list. If it crawls, grazes, flies, grows, or swims - FreshWorld probably sells it. They even had a case full of frozen durian, not to mention an assortment of other veggies I'd never heard of before from different parts of the planet. Large meat section, frozen and canned goods, spices, cleaning products aisle, and even some clothing and assorted sundries. It's a hodgepodge of variety. FreshWorld is located in a large strip mall in Springfield with many other restaurants + specialty stores on the opposite side of the huge parking lot. They have lots of checkout lanes and quite a few store personnel walking around to assist you and answer questions (which can be a challenge in some international stores). The environment here is very welcoming. Glad to add it to my lineup! read more

This place has a abundance of fresh produce from large Mexican avocados and mangos to mountains of peppers. I grabbed a couple fist fulls of fresh red chili peppers and bright orange habaneros along with some assorted vegetables for a spicy curry recipe at a reasonable price during my visit. My aunt and I also selected some delicious cooked duck and pork (asian style) that was rich and delicious and worth every cent. Fresh world further lived up to their name with a fish market and butcher which provided me with some Mexican and Chinese style sausage made on site that day. If you are looking for reasonably priced produce and fresh cooked and affordable Peking duck and pork than visit Fresh world instead of your local grocery chain. The only minor gripe is that we were approached by very religious christians that followed my aunt and I to our car telling us how much Jesus loved us and pushing pamphlets. They were not threatening and only pushy. Had they taken a polite no for an answer, I would have given the place 5 stars. read more

If you don't speak Spanish you can cancel Christmas here. Unfortunately, it is one of the BEST supermarkets in Springfield, VA as long as you don't ask for help. There is a little cafe called "My Coffee"inside this grocery store. I got a free coffee with over $50 grocery purchase. Was so disappointed in my green tea coffee. It did t not fill to the top, missing one inch. For $3.99, I rather go to Starbucks to get better coffee. I wouldn't stop by this cafe ever again. I like knowing that I can get specialty items here without going to several different stores: culantro, epazote, snow pea tips, long beans, a variety of Chinese greens, Cubanelles, frozen gandules, a variety of Asian condiments, etc. Decent Indian, Middle Eastern, and Latino sections (the Latino section is actually somewhat broken up by country, which is rare, but nice that it is not considered a monolith). But that's probably where my like for this store ends. The store is crowded, full of rude customers with poorly behaved children. For the most part, the produce is of poor quality. You have to buy a bunch of items, because you never know if you they are going to be bad when you cut into them. Some produce is entirely skippable. I've had to throw away so much produce from here, and while it's not a huge deal, given the cost, I don't like tossing food. I rarely buy/eat meat, but I would never consider perusing that section here. The store is clean and well-stocked but you need to know what you want because staff is unfriendly. I recommend a get-in and get-out strategy. I'll probably continue to go here because it is somewhat of one-stop shop for less-common ingredients. read more

First of all, they need to better train their cashiers. The cashier must of been training because she asked the bagger for the code to punch in prices for their produce. if I hadn't made sure of some of the prices that was displayed when I grabbed my items, I would have been over charged twice for kimchi and Korean pears! Secondly, I bought an eyeof round roast and as I was preparing it and slicing it for dinner, I noticed a DEAD FLY underneath! Lost my appetite and will never buy meat from here again! I am very disappointed by their management here. I live 40 mins away, so it's not easy to drive there and and just return the item. I have no intention of ever going back. I love this place...its better then H mart - chinese great wall market, grand mart, etc. They have some pretty cheap meats and veggies. They have a pretty good selection of veggies. This place can get really crowded and bunch of people just standing there blocking the already tiny aisles. I also saw a half dead pig here.. highlight of my day. They have more of Korean/Japanese/Mexican food than Chinese foods. read more

Fresh World is our go-to for most of our produce and meat shopping needs! We make a lot of international meals for dinner, especially Korean and Thai dishes, so it's nice having access to unique food items. Their meat selection is vast and reasonably priced compared to chain grocery stores. We like to buy whole ribeyes to cut ourselves for steak. They also have Halal meat available. However, I will say their produce is usually hit or miss. I think they have "seconds" for their fresh produce so sometimes I've found that things can be moldy (like the cherry/grape tomatoes). Their variety of Asian groceries - canned foods, noodles, rice, instant noodles, sauces, etc - is great. I can usually find everything I need here. They also have a little restaurant inside the store, which we've eaten at before. Their Korean food is decent. I would suggest avoiding this store on weekends, though. It gets VERY VERY crowded. I prefer to shop during the weekday. There's normally plenty of parking but if you come on a weekend, you will have trouble finding any. read more

Talk about best international grocery store ever in NoVa. With me living further south in Stafford, it is so hard to find Asian markets & good meat so I can cook! The meats here are SO fresh, I just want to buy it all each time I come in here so I can stock up. Their isles are organized & easy to read and find what you need. Condiments, meats, noodles, anything... you name it. Although there are a couple other markets closer to me in Woodbridge, i would so much prefer this one due to its cleanliness or the place. New to DC and have been looking for a one-stop Asian store. We will return to this place many times, for as long as we live here!! This place was way out of our way but we seriously needed some Thai, Japanese, Filipino, and Korean ingredients and we found almost everything we needed and then some. I have never seen a bigger vegetable section anywhere compared to here--an assortment of green leafy vegetables (like bok choi, chives, string beans (long beans), Chinese ones that I can't even spell) are available, different length and size eggplants, tangerines, apples, bell peppers, limes, lemons, lotus root, ginger, chilies, etc. Different types of kimchee line the shelves, an amazing variety of seafood (small fish, large fish, shark, and shellfish) is available, an incredible selection of all kinds of beef, pork, and poultry (to include goose and duck) cuts line glass cases, chests, and shelves, topped with small dried fish and shrimp for Japanese and Thai cooking (or what have you)...all this before getting to the aisles of frozen and packaged food. In the frozen food section there are all sorts of things like frozen coconut milk, shredded young coconut, takoyaki, squid balls, crab meat, edamame, lumpia (made with different types of rice paper), Japanese kamabuko, frozen fish; you get the idea. The aisles are wide and labeled by ethnicity--i.e., Japanese, Korean, Latino--but also sorted by type of food--noodles, rice, sauce (condiments), etc. When ethnic food shopping is complete, cruise on over to all things American, plus a complete juice, milk, cheese, and cold cuts section. You really cannot go wrong in this store. The only thing that I was unable to find was kimchee base but I'm sure I just missed it. I know it's there. The store is great. No complaints there at all. The eating area is small and that leads to my experience at the PANCHO TEX MEX Friendly service but when I pay $5.99 a pound and get a cleaned bone hidden under spice pork hock that weighs a pound or more there is a problem. So I feel i was tricked into paying $6.00 for a bone that is totally useless. The meat was not even that good had to throw most of it away. Will never go back there again. Would give 5 stars if this review was for store unfortunately it was not. read more

This place is similar to LA Mart (1-2 miles away) except it's organized better and is not as smelly. If there is a tropical fruit you can't find at a typical USA grocery store check here. If you want to learn or start a discussion with your children about other cultures, food is a good none political introduction. Shopping here is a pleasant educational experience for me. It''ll get you out of your comfort zone, for sure. Bring your smartphone, and Google food stuff like I did. Allow yourself extra shopping time. Do everyone a favor and come during the middle of the week if you're a newbie here. The pace is a lot less hectic then and the checkout lines much shorter. After my 1st visit I Googled Jackfruit(JF) and rambutan. I watched YouTube about how a ripe JF looks and how to eat and prepare JF. This store has whole and cut up JF. I'm still working up courage to buy a JF. (LOL) I bought and ate rambutan. VG. There's all kinds of other tropical fruits and veggies that aren't common commercially in USA yet. I can't, for example, find fresh Turmeric at a Giant or Safeway. I got all I can handle for 2 people for a month for $1.00 here. (Yes, one buck.) I know, it cost me more than that to get here but now I'll stop when I am over this way visiting friends or doing something else. I miss the HMart that closed in Clinton, MD. I had a terrible experience this morning with one of the cashiers at the Springfield, VA store. I paid for my groceries this morning (9:12am) and one of the plastic bags that the staff was packing my groceries ripped so another bag was placed, but because I feared it would also rip I grabbed 2 more bags. As I was walking to my car, the cashier (Patricia Telon) chased me down and yelled at me not to do that again. I wasn't aware that the cashiers were trained leave their register with a drawer full of cash unattended to chase down customers. Is that a new practice? She may have thought it was okay to treat me that way because I'm a handicapped senior, but she is mistaken. The staff here needs to learn that they can't treat people, especially older people like myself, that way. If cashiers like Ms. Telon are unable to practice good customer service then maybe they should be placed in a different area where they don't have to have any contact with the public. read more

Normally, I frequent this grocery store and I have never had a problem. However, recently I purchased produce that spoiled prior to the 'Sell By Date' on the container. As such, I went to the store to return the produce and after several conversations with several customer service employees, the owner of the store was called to address the issue. As a grocery store that has a large component of produce, I was surprised to learn that this store has a 24 hour return policy for produce. Per the store owner, this means that customers must inspect their produce within a 24 hour period and if there is something wrong; only then can it be returned. However, this policy should be waived if (in my case); I purchased produce that seemed perfectly fresh that could be used at least up to the "Sell By Date" which was 2 January 2024. I took the produce back after I reached for the produce expecting to cook it on 28 December 2023 and it was spoiled and moldy well ahead of the 2 January 2024 'Sell By Date' stated on the package. Also note, this produce had been refrigerated since entering my home which was approximately 30 minutes after leaving Fresh World two weeks prior. In addition to not being refunded the cost of the item less than $8, I was appalled at how it was handled by the store owner. During my conversation with the store owner and other customer service representatives of Fresh World, I ensured I was calm for several reasons 1) To fully explain the situation; 2) To be sure the message was heard that if I could not get a refund, the food should not be spoiled prior to the "Sell By Date"; and 3) To ensure food that was not edible was being sold. Well regardless of my calm demeanor or because of my calm demeanor, the store owner raised his voice at me and pointed at me several times during our interaction and when I firmly asked 'Why are you raising your voice and why are you pointing", he stated that he was stressed and he didn't need hear what I was saying or answer my questions akin to why was food being sold that was spoiled prior to its "Sell By Date' and if I was not going to get a refund, was I expected to eat rotten food because based on the 'Sell By Date' which was three days away, I could eat it. I believe the store owner failed to listen to my reasonable questions and later he even asked me to step outside the store directing me over to security. I am appalled and insulted by his rude demeanor and the fact that he called security. Please note, I spoke with security who was very pleasant and understanding; he also demonstrated what customer service looks like in total opposition to the Fresh World Store Owner. Please note, I have never returned anything to this store for a refund, exchange, etc. I even threw out the flour I purchased during this same grocery run when a few bugs where found inside. It seems some have forgotten what a reasonable calm discussion looks like but is needed in any business establishment noting that there will be challenges in a people oriented business. Also note, during my discussion - a customer came up behind and stated, "You should just leave, he (the store owner) is not reasonable at all". read more

Y'all, this place is everything - it has food from all over the world, rare finds, delicious samples on the weekends, fresh meat and seafood, and good prices. The first time I came here, I came to do my standard shopping and as a Type A person, I had a detailed list of what exactly I needed. This is not how I go to Fresh World now. I generally have an idea of what meat/seafood I need and then I just explore. There is produce that I've never heard of that we have to try (of course). There is a whole aisle of Asian snack food. They have spices for my Ghanaian and Indian recipes that I've had a hard time finding elsewhere. And again, the prices for the food are very reasonable. The last time I went, I got fresh mahi mahi, steaks, chorizo, a tote bag full of produce and all the other food for the week for the two of us for $60. Given the rare nature of some of the items, I expected this store to be expensive, but was pleasantly surprised. We are definitely going to be coming back here about once a month to try new foods and see what else we can find. read more

The worst supermarket to shop in. The products are decent, however they are always out of stock and way to over Price. We all understand how inflation is affecting a lot of peoples lives however they are completely milking it. They are charging many products way over it acceptable price. However that's not the worst part, the worst part is the employees. All the employees are so Snaggy and rude. Like I'm not forcing you to work here? Every time I go to the seafood section all the boys acts like they can't hear you and refused to help you. I wish I was joking but they literally ignore you. When I finally got attention to someone he said give me a second, and then another couple came in and they pointed out that I was here before them so he could help me yet he still helped the couple first. That was so unacceptable and inappropriate. I've never done anything to any of these boys is it because I'm Muslim and I wear a scarf? That's the only reason I could think of because I never said anything to him, I never did anything to him, I asked for help and he refused it. What other reason could there be? They discriminate against everyone. And they provide service to who they please. I waited in line for over 30 minutes just so he can clean six fish. Do not spend your money here because the owners and employees just want your money and don't care about how you feel. I'm never coming back here again. This is my go-to spot when I need to get some last minute stuff for a meal I'm going to make that night, or the next day. The place is overcrowded at times with mean people, and crazy flood of children munching on fruits. The customer service there is clearly a hit or miss, but if you're Korean then it's going to be a breeze...if you're not, then better hope you get someone who speaks English fluently, or at least won't give you a stink-eye. (BUT: The cashiers are pretty nice) Uhm, I'm iffy about the fish area they have there....I see dying fish in the tanks and plenty of them with scars and open sores that other fish are picking at....so, not going to purchase "fresh" fish there. I don't typically bother reviewing grocery stores, but why not - Fresh World is honestly a pretty good one. You can find pretty much any normal or obscure produce you might need, and more often than not it'll be larger and cheaper than if you found it at a regular grocery store. They recently renovated their interior so it isn't as shambly and suspicious as it once was. The lines are relatively long, but for more international options at a cheaper price you don't have much ground to complain - just make sure you're prepared for the strong smells from the huge fish and seafood area. read more

Love this place! This is where you can purchase a wide variety of fresh produce, meat, seafood and various grocery items at really low price. I like the fact that you can find many fruits and vegetables popular in Asia such as jackfruit, rambutan, Thai eggplant, various types of basil and Chinese broccoli. They have many kinds of fish here. You pick your fish and tell them how to clean/cut it up at no extra charge. I also like the X.O. Taste Express at the food court. They sell various Cantonese style barbecue meat. I bought a pound of Crispy Roasted Pork and half of a roasted duck and they are very delicious impulse purchase purchase. read more

Fresh World is a little more crazy and crowded than H Mart but I think prices for meat and produce are generally better at here. Haven't been to a Super H Mart in a while, but Fresh World has a better selection of non Korean Asian food than the H Mart in Annandale. read more
