Earlier today I called and left a message for the owner after one of his trucks flew down a dead-end road going at least 55 mph, while I was waiting to get my 4-yo off the bus. In my message, I asked them to slow down, as I have small children, and I asked for a call back. I just received a voicemail in return, swearing at me and yelling that he was the driver of the truck, and if I didn't like him going 55 mph I should "call the goddamn township" and have it changed. I tried calling him back numerous times, but he kept answering and ending the call. I am shocked that a) a man would speak to a woman like that and b) respond in such a way, when I simply asked him to slow down because my small children play there. I've filed a complaint with the police, and I've saved the voicemail. I will tell everyone I know how the owner of this business talks to people. Unacceptable. read more

We built a new home in Lake Geneva from 2012-2013. A mound septic system was required. After speaking with 6 septic firms, Haban Septic had not the cheapest, but a fair price and a great system. Why I am giving Haban Septic 5 stars? We had an issue this summer where it was discovered our fence installer had breached our septic field with a fence post, in fact a few fence posts. The damage was not cheap to repair but if not done? Would cost far more in the future. The fencing company was playing dumb and refused to acknowledge their error, even with PLAT maps, drawings, and a walk through the property on site with me. Tom, the owner of Haban Septic? Not only defended our position, but informed and basically educated this fence installer, that if they wanted to speak to Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, huge fines would incur. Tom took 50 photos of the damage, went out not once but twice to show the fence company, AND spent 30 minutes on the phone with the owner of the fence company explaining what they did. If not for Tom at Haban Septic basically being our educated and expert witness? We would have been stuck with thousands in repair costs. The fencing company settled with us 100% and is re-installing the fence line next week, with Haban on site to assure there is no recurrence. Top notch outfit that went WAY beyond what was required and I highly recommend! read more

***I WILL NEVER USE TOM FOR ANY SERVICES IN THE FUTURE. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY THE MOST HORRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. We bought a house one month ago. Our septic inspection was done by this company. Though the report did not seem thorough at all we accepted the passing results. One month in, our main drain stops working and we can't use any plumbing whatsoever in our house. We had just gotten a new washer and on the first load, it backed up through the utility sink and flooded the floor and basement. We were obviously upset as we hadn't lived in the house for 1 month. We called our insurance and explained what was happening and they said to get someone out, they believed it was a septic problem. It was late at night and we were both absolutely furious and defeated. I called Tom and left a message. I included the information of what had happened and said although we thought the report was sketchy (the seller got to choose the inspector) we obviously had to accept the results. Our insurance believed the issue to be septic related which made us upset. everyone thought the septic was going to fail because it was so old. Our decision to purchase the house was based on the fact that the septic passed. I'll admit, my voicemail was stern. Tom called me back and left a voicemail two days later. I called him back a short while later. The very first thing I said was the issue has been taken care of and I wanted to apologize for my voicemail. Before I could go on to explain why I was so upset at the time (we were having a major plumbing issue of water backing up into every pipe in our house when we had not even lived in the home for 30 days) he cut me off and told me to check my facts before I go making accusations! I did not make any specific accusations against him in my voicemail. What a horrible, unprofessional person to have to deal with during the purchase of our first home - an experience that should be fun and exciting.
