    Chicken chimichanga

My husband and I dined here for the first time the other day and enjoyed it. I've heard great reviews about this place and we wanted to branch out from our usual Mexican spots. Our waiter was wonderful and the service was prompt. We both agreed the salsa lacked flavor, but were pleased with our entrées. My husband ordered the street tacos and I had the chicken chimichanga. The portions are large and we had plenty of leftovers. We had an overall positive experience and I'm glad we tried it! I'd consider it to be on par with every other standard Mexican restaurant in the area. Nothing spectacular, but certainly enjoyable and I'd be happy to dine here again!

Excellent service, super clean friendly atmosphere and awesome food. But far the Mexican food in Knoxville.

    Salsa is on point! Delicious!

Food was delicious. Clean and well maintained establishment! Glad we came here as we were passing through the state! Highly recommend!!

Great little spot- it's surprisingly bigger than it looks on the outside! There's two dining areas. The food we had was good- solid Americanized Mexican. Reasonably priced, quick service, yummy food and good portions. This scratches the itch for a basket of chips and a marg! Will definitely be back again.

That was by far the worst Mexican food I ever had. The place looked promising with the ambience, Latino music and Spanish speaking staff. Chips were ok, salsa was the best part of the entire meal. I wasn't able to get a confirmation of the beans and rice are vegan (the server barely spoke English), so I went with the most secure option, vegetable fajita. Hubby got a beef chimichanga. His food was edible, very basic flavor, nothing to write home about, but my dish was terrible. The veggies were just carrots and zucchini (first time ever seeing this combo at a Mexican restaurant) and they were so flavorless I barely ate half. Again, the best part was the salsa.

Seated promptly. Nice casual atmosphere. Unfortunately the food was only OK. Three of us had the Caldo de pollo which we were warned would be about a 25 min wait. I guess we are used to a different kind of soup up north. This soup here lacked flavor, mainly water, a scoop of tomato sauce, carrot, yellow squash and zucchini slices and a few pieces of chicken breast. Not even the flavor of chicken stock. No cilantro. No onion. Just rather blah but the size was generous. We also had the "street" taco plate. Here they used flour tortillas inexplicably. Maybe they had a salsa bar somewhere that we didn't know about but it lacked a good salsa with it. Overall, would just not recommend. Maybe we just didn't have what the restaurant is good at but I would not recommend the chicken soup or the street tacos. FYI, we did order a chicken sandwich for my 6 yo. Hers was the only decent meal in our party of 4!

Your typical Mexican thoroughfare as far as these restaurants go, but definitely not without its charm! We went for lunch and were seated immediately. The lunch specials were extensive and interesting including combination plates, a la carte items and more. The salsa and chips were decent! We grabbed a couple of specials and had some leftovers! The value was fantastic for a quick in and out lunch in the air conditioning after a morning at the zoo. All of th seating was spread out and nobody was too loud or talking over each other. Overall a pretty pleasant experience! I was a LITTLE underwhelmed by the cook of the steak in my enchilada as well as a slight weird flavor on the rice (could've been the utensils? They seemed freshly cleaned, but maybe not rinsed all the way?), but otherwise we enjoyed our lunch!

Didn't know what to expect when I ordered this but it sounded good! (New place for me) I was surprised at the amount of everything I received. It was very good! Got it early afternoon & ate on it all night.

Out of towners here coming from visiting the zoo. Do not eat at the zoo and wait to come here. Especially for lunch. You can't beat the prices for the quality and quantity of food you get. The salsa was not spicy to the point you can't enjoy it. It was perfect. Always get that cheese dip. It was just the right consistency and the taste was . I mixed my salad and cheese dip, yes I know it's a law not to lol. But it was so good. The entrees were also delicious especially that side of rice with some veggies in it. The waiter was on top of his game with professionalism, friendliness, accuracy and speed. The music and ambiance upbeat and decorative.

    Nachos Habaneros. Delicious!

Habaneros is definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in Knoxville. They have a large selection of traditional Mexican fare and some unique creations of their own. The atmosphere is nice. All tables are dressed with a large selection of hot sauces. My wife and I really love the salsa that they serve with tortilla chips. It's the perfect blend of traditional ingredients and the texture is perfect. It's thick enough to not run off the edge of your chips but thin enough to not be chunky and it's perfect every time. I highly recommend the Nachos Habaneros. They are the king of nachos. They have shrimp, chicken, beef, and a wonderful queso blanch. They top the nachos with sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, and roasted peppers. You can't go wrong with this dish. Anyway, if you're ever out near the zoo, this place is perfect for a quick, delicious meal.

For what it is-- it is really scrumptious. I had a few tacos, a ceviche tostada and a beer. BIG lunch-- I took one taco home. All the items were really chock-ful of meat. The carnitas on that taco was way too much to be able to pick up the taco with it all inside. They had a good mix of onions and cilantro on them, although I'd have preferred to add my own (I LOVE cilantro). I wish it was nearer; I'd go back often.
