Ah Hilario's. I first remember eating this food once for free at a food truck at five point once…read morethe new homes in a new residence were made roughly 2 years ago. Five point if you don't know, is a new area around where I live that allows vendors to come and sell their food for promotions of their business during certain seasons and events. Sort of like a convention but with food.
Anyway, I tried their birria tacos and burritos with rice and beans in a plate. It was delicious! 2 years later, I finally came to try out their actual food at their built location. Let me forewarn you, it was phenomenal!
Okay, so the place is in a nice location, far from me in a residential area around Santa Clarita valley, California. For those living outside California but want to venture out, this place if available, is my favorite Mexican food here.
One thing to note, the employee working here was STRANGE. You remember watching Monsters Inc. the movie? You remember that Snail with the glasses? ROZ, the snail, the employee here, the man was identical to that Snail. Same glasses, slow, monotone voice and looked the same, albeit a man v woman. Anyway, the customer service was odd to say the least in my honest opinion. Not in a bad way, but in a bizarre way. It was fine, the other woman working in the back, just gave me the most strangest vibes ever! I think one of her eyes was cross eyed because she didn't look at me directly but talked to me after I said the food was good and goodbye. The service was very quick as in 2-3 minutes after ordering and receiving and the interior was super clean. Pictures uploaded.
There was a sauce and salsa station next to the register that had a delicious taste, one was a spicy red orange colored sauce with a lot of blended peppers and the other one was a green mild sauce with blended herbs and other ingredients. The taste however; was absolute money. It was one of the best salsa and sauces I've ever had. They also had other things like jalapeños, jicama sliced and pico de gallo with some other type of salsa, picture included.
Overall, best Mexican food I've had ever! Given the circumstances, food quality, quantity, price, service, convenience, taste, cleanliness etc. that I have tried thus far, at least within the last 10 years. Of course there are better I haven't tried, but man, what a gem. The only gripe I have is the odd behavior of the two employees. I never seen this type of look and behavior in people so similar to that monsters inc. movie. Just the most bizarre and unnatural service ever. Anyway I give this a 9.7/10. By all means, everything was fantastic. The area is located in such a hidden residential area, that without my Google Maps, I would never really know how to find this place.
