Inez is a master colorist! I am so happy with my beautiful multi-colored hair. It exceeded my wildest expectations. I asked for 3 colors, but she actually used 5 (2 shades of pink, 2 blue, and 1 purple), and blended and layered them in such a complex, amazing way. I was just expecting a simplistic outcome of colored pieces of hair, but she blended them all in with my in-dyed hair so that it will look great even as it grows out and fades. I have been wanting a certain hair style for a while but haven't had the time to get it done. I'm visiting my mother in Menlo Park (I currently live in San Francisco) and Habibi's is right around the corner from my mother's place. My boyfriend did some internet research, saw it was highly rated and told me to get the cut/style I wanted since I was here anyway. I'm so glad I did! Ines was my stylist. I told her I was extremely nervous since it was a pretty big change and she was very nice trying to distract me and take my mind off what was happening. About halfway through I saw what a great job she was doing, my anxiety completely went away and I had a huge smile on my face the rest of the time. She really listened to what I wanted and did an excellent job in executing my requests. I love that Ines really makes sure you know what you're getting into with certain styles, letting you know ahead of time what will be required to maintain it, making sure you really want to go through with it, and giving you instruction on what you need to do. The receptionist/assistant and other stylist were also very nice. In the beginning of my cut, I was actually double teamed by both Ines and the other stylist. I never had 2 people work on my hair at once, I felt like a queen, haha. Anyway, I highly recommend going here even if it isn't in your immediate vicinity. The price of a haircut at Habibi's is pretty reasonable when there are salons in the area with haircuts costing up to $100 dollars. I had a little critique about my bangs and she fixed it with no hesitation. She said she has the same problem with her bangs and totally knew how to make it better. Ines and all the stylists at Habibi's are absolutely wonderful! The products they offer for after-care are affordable and high quality. I love coming here for just a nice blowout & styling before events or a good cut. Recently, I made a big change with my hairstyle and Deisy was incredibly patient with my anxiety about the change and requests. I have very long, dyed coarse hair and they know how to take such good care of it. Ines is constantly learning and taking courses on all kinds of hairstyles, coloring techniques, and cuts. STOP! All guys in the Bay Area that are looking for someone that can cut an awesome fade, you have to go see Mari at Habibi Salon. For the last couple of months, I have been on a mad hunt to find someone that can cut a perfect fade cut. My old hair dresser left town, and I have been getting butchered by various barbers/hairdressers in the Bay Area. (Can't tell you which locations as that is not fair to other companies!) I am super specific on how I like my haircut, so when I post a compliment, please take note. I am so happy I have finally found someone that can cut my hair how I like it. Love this place. Started to take my kids there since it is close to home and loved the results. Had my hair cut the next time too and was so happy with it that I decided to leave my old hairdresser in Redwood City. When I decided to stop highlighting my hair I asked Ines to dye it back to my original color. She did an amazing job. Toddler Hair Cut: I've taken my kid to a kid's cut place but this place was much better as they actually consider the style, whereas kids' places we've been to just kind of trim away. Our stylist took time to look through different styles and applied as much technique to my toddler's hair as a stylist would for an adult haircut. They are also very kind and professional. They were so patient with my squirmy kid, offering different options to help keep her in place (in the little red truck chair, in a booster or on my lap), and had plenty of distractions, as well as stickers at the end :). In general, great people, professional service and good technique. I think I'll be back for a haircut of my own! read more

This is an absolute gem of a salon. Ines has recently cut my hair and done my hair for my wedding. In both cases she did an awesome job at a fraction of the price of most salons in the area. In the case of the hair for my wedding she did a trial with her assistant (also awesome) where she tried out two different styles, and was appropriately assertive in advising on what would work and what wouldn't with my hair. The end result was simply gorgeous....it stayed in place all day, and I have had dozens of compliments on how great it looked. She also played around with the flowers for my hair so they looked just right. I cannot recommend Habibis highly enough. Not only do they do a great job of cutting and styling, they are also extremely reasonably priced, and Ines is delightful at fitting in anyone who wants to have their hair cut, even if it isn't completely convenient for her. read more

Family is a regular here but the last two times had less than a desirable experience. Last time the stylist didn't give my son the cut that we asked for and this time, despite making an appointment, had to wait for 25mins - no excuse! This place is not fancy or "high end" but delivers great service. I was there for a keratin treatment about 2 weeks ago and was a bit nervous when I first walked in. I'm from NYC and am accustomed to a slightly different atmosphere. When I walked into the salon here there were two teenagers getting their haircut... Not the same clientele I typically see back home. It is striking how family oriented this place is, complete with a chair especially for kids haircuts. What struck me even more was that everyone was on a first name basis... They obviously are a neighborhood spot with repeat clients... To me this is a very good sign. They steadily got busier and busier the longer I sat there, so I was happy I had called for an appointment. The keratin treatment itself was great. They use a fantastic product which I asked about before I mad e the appointment. The salon owner is very hospitable, offering me water then tea (hot black peach tea from the spot next door which was to die for). And when I left the salon she gave me a travel size shampoo and conditioner that she thought would be good for my hair for FREE!!!! She was right... I bought the full size product as soon as I ran out of the ones she gave me. These ladies know their business and they are fantastic. read more

I've lived between SF and the Peninsula for the last 10 years and have been searching for the perfect salon. Finally, a few months ago a friend recommended Habibi's. On my first appointment, I took the plunge and chopped my hair. I walked away with the BEST bob. It truly is my favorite haircut (which is saying a lot, because chopping off your long hair and going short is always tough). I was even able to text with the staff after my appointment so I could find the best curling iron to replicate the beachy waves they created. I was so thrilled that I went back last week and again, walked away with the best haircut I've ever had, hair styling tips, and a video of their curling iron technique. Got a great men's haircut here from Mary. Great rates for men at $25 for a scissor cut. Far better than the local Super Cuts over on El Camino (I tried them 3-4 times). Spend the extra $8 or so, it's worth it. read more

This is a great place if you want to feel like a fool. I asked for a simple haircut, just clean up the back...I wasn't thrilled she did this with my hair still dry, but trusted her. Well, after paying and tipping nicely, thinking Yay, this is cute.....got home and took the customary shower after a haircut, looked in the bathroom mirror with a hand mirror, and really??? the haircut is uneven and best part yet? a little bald spot.
