We ordered food through a third party app ($50 worth too) and the food was awful. The restaurant failed to alert the driver picking that the food was ready so two different drivers came a left while waiting. The worst part is the call center that doesn't connect you to the store. I called to find out if the food was actually ready and inquire about the quality if it had been sitting for 30min. Unfortunately someone in a call center can't confirm the quality of the food when they aren't there and they refused to connect me to the store! No attempt to remedy the problem either - my options were to just go pick it up myself or cancel the order??? I just wanted them to make fresh food and properly alert the app driver that food was ready. So disappointed! read more

So happy they opened up a Habit in Encinitas! With so many great burger joints, it's difficult to choose where to go when I'm having that craving but 9 times out of 10, the habit is my go-to! The BBQ bacon char is my favorite burger of all time. Yes, even more than in-n-out! It really sets the standard for fresh ingredients. Great food, quick service, and clean establishment! Thank you for being open so we could walk in, place our order and leave with food. Lunch was a nice change from home cooking during this distancing time. However, you might want to consider sealing your take out bags for food delivery pickup. It was disturbing to see an elderly man, park next to us, pick up food for a delivery service, open the bag in his car and eat a few fresh fries, close the bag up, put it in his delivery zipper bag, select the destination he was delivering to and drive away. First I want to say the service was wonderful before reviewing the food . Had the teriyaki burger, fries and a drink, reasonably priced at just over $7. Unfortunately, the food was... Bland. This is a pretty good place! I can't say that it is better then in and out, but I do think that it is good. It's definitely not amazing, not a special burger in any way, but like I said, a good burger, but it didn't have a lot of flavour, and it wasn't that special! Came with my girlfriend for lunch this afternoon, besides the food being great, the service was INCREDIBLE. Everything was clean and sanitized and you could tell they took care in making sure everyone felt safe during the pandemic. There was an elderly couple leaving the restaurant who were having trouble getting to their car and one of the workers volunteered to assist them to the car and even asked if they needed a ride home, because she would get them one. We had the hardest time thinking of a place that we could go to last minute late at night to feed someone with specific dietary restrictions. We came in 15 minutes before closing to put in a to-go order and we felt guilty about it but they were all smiles and service. We needed to feed someone with very specific dietary needs (no seeds on the buns and no tomatoes because of the seeds), and they were able to accommodate easily. They offered us water cups while we waited, and even engaged us in conversation. We were out of there just as they closed and our order was perfect. Great friendly staff with wonderful service and dirty accommodations. I will definitely keep them in mind as part of my feeding repertoire for this person from now on. read more

I want to update this review. We did get the coupons for their burgers and we used them on an order. The hamburgers were much improved. No soaking in grease or the bun falling apart. The burgers were smaller than I had hoped for and smaller than competitors'. The BBQ bacon burger was tasty but the standard one was actually a bit bland. I ordered over the phone, I believe it was last Wednesday, and didn't realize that it takes the processing center 20 minutes for your order to arrive at the store so they can begin cooking it. When I walked in 5 minute after ordering, the manager was able to begin the order right away once he went and retrieved the order from his office somehow where it prints out, which I highly appreciated. My wife is pregnant and needed something to eat quickly because she had terrible nausea and my son missed his second nap so he was cranky, so I truly appreciated the manager's sense of urgency to get us in and out as quickly as possible with our food even though he had no idea about my family because I didn't mention it. Great place to get a yummy reasonably priced burger.. Great quality - veggies are always fresh and love they come with grilled onions. Onion rings are delicious - as our the sweet potato fries. Kids meals are a great deal - can even choose milk or chocolate milk. If anyone is still hungry they have $1 ice cream cones - only downside they only come in vanilla.. Kids also say shakes are great. I have only had the salad once and it was good. My husband has also said the veggie burger was decent. Please do not order from the La Costa location. I have had four bad experiences with this location all orders were incorrect even the one that I picked up at the location. I had to go though the order with the staff to get it correct. The last order came through DoorDash. I had company and ordered over $50 worth of food. When it was delivered the two Santa Barbara Cobbs were not delivered (these are very expensive -over half the cost of the order) and the Char burgers were cold and the buns were burnt. Also due to being bagged in plastic the fries were soggy. When I contacted Habit Burger they said I had to come to the location to get the order fixed. When I told them I couldn't due to having company they only had someone call me to file a complaint. Weeks went by without a response from them and then when they finally did respond they weren't going to refund my money or give me the food that they owe me. They told me they would send me some coupons. I do not ever plan to eat at a Habit Burger ever again and I told them what to do with their coupons. I had to give them a star because you can't post with one. Believe me one star is generous for this location. read more

The Encinitas store is a very friendly and hard-working staff. I've noticed they always try to do their best to please the customers, unlike another Habit restaurant on Vista Way who tried to close down early. I was at the Oceanside Habit ten minutes before closing time. I had selected ASAP for a mobile order and was surprised to learn that it had chosen the next morning for my order. I had placed several mobile orders before 10:00pm without any problems. So after arguing with me about it for over ten minutes, she said it was now too late and she wouldn't be able to serve me.
