Habit coffee at the Atrium is my favorite location. It's busy during peak hours of the day but that's to be expected. The service is always excellent. I love their London fog with oat milk. The coconut oat cookie is also very tasty. It's a cute cafe with tons of space and table and love the natural light. Great ambiance. I've also heard that they're now closing at 9 pm which is great for some late night bites and drinks! Highly recommend Habit coffee read more

I really enjoy Habit Coffee. It is a great location next to the atrium. There is a bunch of natural light and a great vibe. They also have dog treats behind the counter and are quick to volunteer to go outside and visit with your pooch. My dog loves the staff and getting attention sitting outside on the patio. One of my favourite things about Habit is their focus on sustainability. Their staff rides bicycles between locations, they compost and recycle nearly everything and they source quality beans. They have a great compost, garbage and recycling system that instructs the customer on where to put what. I love Bow & Arrows coffee. Their staff is well trained and even able to make the almond milk in my africano silky and smooth. There is almost always some nice coffee art on top too. read more

As someone who isn't a big coffee drinker I'm always skeptical of coffee shops because I'm worried they'll have minimal selection and make me feel bad for not liking coffee. But Habit Coffee was great! There was plenty of coffee free selection. I went for their limited time lavender lemonade and it was delicious. The perfect blend and I honestly could have bought 4 more. They have juices and pop selection so it's not lacking by any means. The food looks delicious (although I didn't go for any of it but my dad bought a cookie and he loved it). I ordered an allongé with steamed milk and they refused to make it. Actually, the response was "we don't pull our espresso long, here." So not only did they refuse to make a very basic coffee order, they also ended up serving me a short espresso with a whole cup of steamed milk on the side. Essentially, this place showed me that they don't know their stuff, not to mention the actual coffee was slightly burnt. Next time I'm in Victoria, I will definitely pass on this one. read more

Being a Victoria native who has moved east, I was pleasantly surprised to find this place on a recent trip back home. The floor to ceiling windows and their advantageous corner location make this an excellent place to sit and watch the world go by. To top that off, their espresso and baked goods selection are great, something that I've always felt Victoria could use more of. I'm glad we swung by today to grab coffee before heading to the ferries to go home. This place totally reminds me of Revolver in Gastown; a caffeine joint of hipsters, by hipsters, for hipsters. In short if you're not cool, don't bother coming. At least that's how I interpreted the look I got from the barista when he overheard me asking my husband "it's $3.75 for this size cappucino?". FYI, cool people do not ask about prices. They just quietly sip their coffee, nod, and walk away, looking cool. Yes, the cappucino only comes in one size (at least that's the conclusion we came to because they didn't bother asking HB what size). A teeny, tiny size. Fit perfectly in the palm of my hand and everyone who know me also know I have freakishly small hands. But oh so awetastic and satisfying. The perfect cappucino. I only wished they gave me more for how expensive it was. But hey, that's the price for great coffee (which I'm assuming is also fair-trade, organic, hand-picked, shade-grown and hipster-made.. factors that drive the price up so much). To people complaining about WiFi and outlets: try the damn coffee. Jarringly modern for a coffee house but still comfortable. But this is the thing: the coffee is outstanding. I had a cortado that was epic perfect temperature perfect milk lovely espresso just a class drink in every respect. Hip, fresh and trendy! We stopped by Habit for a post dinner sweet treat while vacationing in Victoria. I wish Habit could be uprooted and transported to Vancouver. Not to knock Vancouver's coffee shops...there are slews of them and they're awesome...but Habit was just a step above. My husband ordered a black coffee and we all got one chocolate chip cookie to share. Big mistake. It should have been three cookies! I have been to Habit at atrium twice now and I am quite impressed. My first visit I got a simple vanilla latte (it has become my drink of choice for "testing the waters", as it were), which was very good and nicely balanced between the sweet and bitter, (chains tend to overdo the syrup, indies tend to underdo) and I finished the drink without having to push myself. My second visit, I got a french press and a muffin for breakfast. The muffin was amazing, a kind of carrot and fruit muffin which I forget the name of. The french press was pretty good, though the flavour was not really what I prefer in a roast. Though, as odd as it sounds, the coffee did have the best after-taste I have experienced. A more umami flavour (if that makes any sense) rather than the usual sour aftertaste I normally get from drip. The shop itself is extremely nice. Floor to ceiling windows surround the cafe, looking both out onto the street and back into the atrium of the building. I really liked habit and it has been added to my list of go to coffee shops. read more

I'm here almost every Tuesday to hang out with my knitting friends. (Whether or not they're happy about us hanging out and knitting, I'm not sure, but we love it all the same.) It's a great space. They have the best hot chocolate in Victoria, always prepared with some love. When I need caffeine, a primo mocha is just the thing. (Can you sense I like chocolate?) And they have a lovely selection of quirky teas (root beer tea being my current favorite). If you're having a bad day, get a chocolate chip cookie. (Damn chocolate again.) Totally worth it. As a side note, Hoyne Voltage Espresso Stout is made from Habit beans/espresso and is seriously kick-ass. I'm sad Habit doesn't serve alcohol. read more

Habit Coffee has a great location with lots of windows and lots of seating. For me, it is an ideal place to study (bright and cozy), except, keep in mind that they don't have wi-fi. They are also open until quite late on the weekdays, and that is a big plus for me as it is not something that is offered by many coffee places in Victoria. I tried their Chai Latte on my first visit, and to be honest, it was pretty bad. It tasted like lightly spiced milk. It looked great but did not have much flavor. Such a disappointment. Based on that, I would never go back again, but I liked the interior and atmosphere so much that I decided to give them another try. Next time I tried the latte and it was pretty good! Just based on their chai latte, I would give this place 3 stars, but the latte and the design of the interior makes up for it! read more
