I stopped by here after walking in mild Victoria rain for about 2hours. This cafe looks cute from the outside but inside is pretty small and normal. I got a mocha and tiramisu. Mocha was alright nothing to rave about though but tiramisu was stale. I took one bite and had to throw the rest away. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place.

This cafe is so good! The pastries are delicious and the coffee is exactly what i needed every morning! We came here 3 days it was so good! The baristas were friendly and helpful!

25 day dry aged pork chop with winter pesto and Saskatoon berries on top... it was so good that I ate the fat edging!

Absolutely amazing meal and service at The Courtney Room! The staff were incredibly accommodating for all of our dietary restrictions, AND they did this all with a great attitude. The staff rose to the challenge of all of our dietary restrictions including pregnancy related ones and a vegan diet. Our server, Greg, was extremely knowledgeable about how and where our food was sourced. Brian Tesolin, the head chef, rose to our unintentional menu challenges. I was thoroughly impressed by how he managed to provide all 3 of us with a similar tasting experience for each dish despite all of our different dietary restrictions! I highly recommend checking out The Courtney Room and trying out their chef's tasting menu. (Their mushrooms are locally foraged, and their pork chop was dry aged for 25 days! Delicious!!)

    Cute set up!

Bookmarked this place as I walked by this morning, and remembered it as I got caught in a rain shower on my way back to the hotel. Perfect spot to stop and warm up and get dry! :) You gotta walk down some stairs into part of an lower level shopping area. It's all so clean and quaint. Something like walking into grandma's house. The inside has cafe style seating but also comfy lounging chairs towards the street side of the cafe. I'm sitting here now getting ready to dive into my book and just relax with the rain outside and the slow jazz playing over the speakers. They have everything here, sweets, savory, coffee, gellato, smoothies, brownies, sandwiches and more! The cashier was really nice and even topped off my hot chocolate...probably cause he felt bad that I was soaking wet! Lol!

Convenient, friendly, really tasty little pastries! We just wanted one more treat and a cuppa before leaving Victoria. This wasn't quite what I was looking for, but it a very solid little coffee shop. My daughter's gingerbread hot cocoa was delicious, and so was my bran muffin.

    Nice plain cup

This is right outside the Public Market and has plenty of street parking on and around the block. From the get go, amazing ambiance - bright, colorful infused with wooden interiors makes you take notice. A very innovative menu makes it hard to not try more than you planned on. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. We had the below items and can't wait to be back to try more on their menu. It seems they do refresh their menu quite a bit and the current menu is definitely bomb! 1. Hong Kong style Pork Sandwich - 12/10, amazing favors, very nicely done! 2. Savory Poptart - 10/10, light, flake, buttery, melt in the mouth 3. Mandarin Day Dream from their Signature Drinks - Drink of my dreams. I will dream of it until I can have it again and I hope they do not drop it from the menu until then. Such a innovative and well balanced drink - 20/10, must try!! We need you here in the U.S. Whoever is dishing out these creative menu items (signature drinks & the sandwiches) needs a raise!

I came here cuz I wanted to try something different today than Starbucks. The place is cozy. Plenty of tables on the sidewalk. Plenty of tables inside as well. I didn't think it was going to be conducive to someone reading or working but once you enter there's plenty of seats and table just for that to your left. Seats are comfortable enough that you can focus but not fall asleep. There's plenty of people working. There's a long line when I came in. They serve sandwiches, patties, some pastries. Pastries are mostly vegan or veggie, of that variety. I wish they had more choices of pastries as I was craving one. I ended up just ordering coffee. Im not sure how fresh those wrapped pastries are. Coffee is just about right, medium roast. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. Tried the Moka Ball which is basically peanut butter in a ball. It's hard and bit cold. Am not sure if it's supposed to be that way. It's ok. Wanted to get a sugar boost as I am feeling a little sluggish. Ambient music is also just right. Not blasting as some of the Starbucks stores do. You dont know if you're in a club or coffeeshop. This place has potential if they just have more fresh choices. A little friendliness from the staff would make wonders and convey warmth. Hope to comeback and try something different.

Everything in the display case looked delicious, but we decided on the lychee raspberry & rosewater pastry, the pistachio ganash tart and the pork & fennel sausage roll. The pistachio tart was fresh with a rich nutty flavor, though it took a little finesse to eat because the filling kept wanting to spill out. My favorite was the lychee raspberry & rosewater pastry. It was flaky, with a delicate sweetness from the fruits and a subtle floral note from the rosewater. You can really taste the dedication in these pastries. I'd recommend going early in the day as many of their items tend to sell out quick.

What we loved most was that it wasn't overly sweet. It had a wonderful, strong fruit component from the cherries that balanced perfectly with the chocolate and a light, thin layer of whipped cream. The cake itself was incredibly moist and executed with such care. It was a total hit for the celebration! I only wish we lived in Victoria so this could become our regular go-to spot for special occasion cakes.
