So glad we decided to walk in on our recent trip to Victoria. We did not plan to be here but literally every person walking on the street seemed to be walking in and we were like - let's go, check it out. This is right outside the Public Market and has plenty of street parking on and around the block. From the get go, amazing ambiance - bright, colorful infused with wooden interiors makes you take notice. A very innovative menu makes it hard to not try more than you planned on. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. We had the below items and can't wait to be back to try more on their menu. It seems they do refresh their menu quite a bit and the current menu is definitely bomb! 1. Hong Kong style Pork Sandwich - 12/10, amazing favors, very nicely done! 2. Savory Poptart - 10/10, light, flake, buttery, melt in the mouth 3. Mandarin Day Dream from their Signature Drinks - Drink of my dreams. I will dream of it until I can have it again and I hope they do not drop it from the menu until then. Such a innovative and well balanced drink - 20/10, must try!! hey happy has chill vibes from the moment you walk in. exposed brick, big front windows, and fun tiered wooden seating give it a cosy but open feel. there's a steady rhythm of quiet chatter and keyboard tapping, lots of beanies and toques, plenty of laptops out, and a young hipster crowd settling in for long stretches. i grabbed a table with a little card that read "sanitized," which was a small but appreciated touch. i ordered the apple pie matcha, house apple pie syrup, ceremonial grade matcha, topped with cinnamon sugar dust. honestly, i wasn't a fan of the apple pie syrup. it leaned a bit artificial, sweetened with honey and overpowered the drink for me. that said, the matcha itself tasted good, but subtle, smooth, earthy, and decent quality. temperature wise it was more on the tepid side than properly warm, which didn't help. i'd probably try their strawberry matcha latte next time. i also got the hashbrown with herb mayo and added a soft poached egg. it comes as a tiny square, hard and crunchy on the outside with a solid crisp. when cut into, the yolk was cooked nicely with a soft jammy ooze that coated the hashbrown. the herb mayo added a creamy, savoury boost and brought extra flavour to each bite. overall, hey happy is a solid place to hang or work for a few hours. great seating setup options, relaxed atmosphere, and a crowd that makes it feel effortlessly cool. read more

Now I'm no coffee drinker, and I'm definitely not a matcha drinker but I wanted to be apart of my family's coffee date so I opted for the matcha lemonade! Wow - I didn't realize it was blue lemonade! Soooo good! Halfway through I def got the matcha taste but it was so perfectly refreshing. My mom got a plain coffee with cream and sugar and said for just a coffee, it was good! Not so happy with Hey Happy. I was disappointed with the service I received today, 6/25/2026, at 8:30 AM. While placing a to-go order, I asked the counter employee for a specific piece of focaccia from the glass display, as the other options looked burnt, andI told her as such. Instead of politely explaining that the display items were not for sale, she flatly refused with a curt "No, the pieces aren't burnt" and pulled a piece from a hidden compartment. This followed an earlier, similarly abrupt response when I asked about vegan options. Because my wife and I were rushing to catch a tour bus, we could not address this at the time. While the other staff members who completed our order were pleasant, this individual's dismissive behavior made us feel unwelcome and raised uncomfortable concerns about potential bias against us as an Asian American couple who spoke perfect English. read more

We walked into the cafe to a fellow just smiling at us from behind the counter. What a wonderful welcome. The service here is very nice. The signature drinks are very interesting. I wanna try them all. We got the coconut espresso and a London fog. Both were the best drinks we've had all week. I'm not usually an overdress drinker, but I really liked the iced coconut. We didn't get any food other than the donut so can't really comment on their food. The coffee was subtle and good, not bitter or acidic like some other coffee shops. The coconut milk is what makes it delicious - tastes like the canned coconut milk you'd use in Thai dishes. Staff is super friendly. Pastries and cookies were delicious! I'm such a sucker for light wood, plants, and an open/tall space. What surprised me most was they don't have vanilla syrup? The only sweetener they had were random syrups (which chocolate, honey) or sugar. It was the first time I've heard of a Cafe not having basic vanilla sweetener. I got a Chai latte and my friend got their white chocolate peppermint mocha. The Chai latte was very dilute and had a little Chai flavor but couldn't taste the cinnamon at all. Getting major LA beach vibes from Hey Happy. Fun and bright decor, good tunes, great coffee, and also a food and wine menu (the last of which we did not partake in on our morning ventures here). I've had the chai latte two days in a row along with the breakfast sandwich. Chai is as expected and the same each time. The sandwich is very tasty and worth the money. Wife had the honey latte which was very nice. She got the yogurt parfait each day and very much so enjoyed it. Nice little coffee shop with friendly employees. Seating is tight when busy but for a coffee shop there is a good amount available. Would recommend this little coffee shop for sure. read more

I had their latte and it's pretty decent while travelling and their cookies are pretty on point: 1-chocolate chip and 2-ginger were very yummy. The hey happy coffee is ok my girlfriend tried a cappuccino but didn't like it much so i did like a gentleman do and after she sip my americano and like it mucho i bought her an americano too. I always say if you want to really taste a good coffee an americano black is the way to go because you really taste coffee without anything to alter taste. Their coffee is really good but not the ultimate in Victoria as they don't roast their own coffee, but still better than any Starbucks of this world ( these bastards are everywere !). Hey Happy definitely has some of the best coffee in town! Every time I go I like to try one of their rotating special drinks and they're always amazing. I do wish they came in a larger size however. If there's one thing you can count on from hey happy, it's that it will be busy. You can't really run in for a quick coffee, because you'll always end up waiting in line and waiting for your drinks for a while. The coffee is definitely worth the wait though! I can't imagine it's a very good place to work from, as it can be quite busy and loud. It's a better environment to meet with friends at or to take your food to go. I felt that their vegan breakfast sausage left something to be desired. I don't feel that mushrooms are a good vegan substitute for protein, because they're not actually a protein replacement at all. I felt pretty hungry after eating my breakfast sandwich and wished there has been tofu or something on it. I also tried their mint chocolate chip cake which, although it looked very pretty in the display, I would not recommend it at all. read more

I usually choose from espresso options, but the drip offerings here looked so interesting I had to try one. I had the Ethiopian, and it didn't disappoint. They serve in a little carafe with a small cup for drinking. I also had the Little Egg Breakfast, which was bursting with flavor. Although called little, it was quite a filling breakfast.
