So I went to Ace hardware in Bellingham and talked to an older gentleman that I felt should know their products. I told him that I needed a blower vacuum to suck up leaves. Now I figured he would realize that the leaves were wet since it was raining. He showed me the Toro blower vacuum and he said his brother in law has this and it works great. I took it home and started to try and suck up wet leaves and it kept getting clogged. I finally gave up. and just raked the leaves. The clerk never did tell me that this has a mulcher and works best with dry leaves. I have a blower vacuum that just sucks up anything at home. I went to return it, because it wasn't doing what I was told it would and since I don't live there, I couldn't wait for the leaves to dry. I was told by the same guy that sold it to me and one of the younger clerks that I can't return it. They gave me all kind of excuses and I finally gave up. I will never shop there again. I would not have had this head ache if I had gone to Home depot or Lowes. At least they know what they are selling.

It had a dent in the side as well, but nothing terrible. I get it, there should be NO dents and scratches, but after loading the 120 pound thing home and unboxing it, I had to ask myself, "how badly do I want to take this whole thing back for a small dent?" So I opted to just go in and pick up matching screws and bolts. Contacted the very unkempt young man at customer service, who told me there was nothing they could do for me and suggested I call Craftsman to have them send me the missing screws and nuts. GREAT customer service there buddy! I suggested MAYBE he help me find replacement parts because I hoped that a place like Lowe's would carry something like screws and nuts. He told me I could try looking in the aisle with screws. I commented that it might be hard to find them and he said he would call someone over. I went and began perusing the screw aisle just across the row from customer service and easily in view of the customer service counter. No one came and I had not found the replacements for over 10 minutes. Not one person had approached the customer service counter while I waited, yet the rep made only the initial call! I finally decided just to walk out, when I walked past a Craftsman tool display. There was an employee working with some of the tools, so I asked her for help. Stephanie was super kind and helped me find the screws and nuts in a few minutes and gave me suggestions for dealing with the dent. Super kind and super helpful. Stephanie is a superstar and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars! Without her, Lowe's just expects me to call up the company and wait two weeks or whatever with a half-built cabinet in my garage-booooo!

While they also sell online, being able to see and play with all of the tools from the website is just awesome. I was almost giggling while walking the aisles. Staff were helpful, and were very personable. With their assistance, I was able to find almost everything I was looking for. Yes the tools are ridiculously cheap, and yes the quality isn't up there with the likes of Snap-on or Milwaukee, but in terms of bang for your buck, this place blows almost any other store I know of out of the water. Some people have had bad experiences with some of their tools, but I think it's honestly bad luck. The reason I keep coming back here is because I feel their tools are pretty solid. I wish they would open up a location or two in Canadaland.

Given the multiple reviews over a span of years about the same issue, its clear that the manager and owner dont care, so now I drive all the way out to Lynden and support that well stocked store and kind and knowledgeable staff. However, a certain-special-someone in my life recently took on this fascinating hobby and I, being the loyal-and-devoted-spouse, took it upon myself to visit North Corner with him on a recent supply trip. (Okay, that's a lie. He "just happened" to stop by there while we were running errands and I had two choices: either wait in the freezing cold car or go in with him. So I went in. THIS, as Ma Ingalls would say, is marriage.) But I digress. North Corner is a really cool place! Just spending some time in there made me think, hmmm, maybe I *could* possibly considering giving some thought to someday pondering brewing my own beer. They have everything you could possibly need to do this (and a lot of things you probably don't need but would love to buy anyway - just like any good hobby store). From recipes posted on the wall to bottling equipment, you could walk in here with nothing and walk out with enough stuff to start your own brewery (well, in your garage at least). The guy at the counter is also super-helpful - always a bonus when you're in new territory. If I post a pic of my super-awesome-amazing homemade brew in a few weeks you know it worked!

Last fall I went around to at least 6 wine supply stores in Skagit and Whatcom and settled on getting all my supplies from here. The reasons are simple: The owner was the most helpful and didn't try to sell me the high-end stuff, the mark-up was less than all the other shops, the big equipment you need is free to use when you buy your grapes through them and prices quoted for grapes were very competitive. I ended up buying 3 wine kits through them because we were too late in the fall to get grapes but so far so good. I'm completely satisfied with the wine we produced which worked out to $2.55 to $4.33 a bottle. The price of the kits was significantly less than the exact same kits at other shops and the wines produced compare to $9 to $24 a bottle retail. Next fall we are looking forward to making wine from grapes. In the meantime I think I'll try making a couple batches of beer!

Having been told all product was on sale, found mine not listed on the flyer. Go figure.Manager extended sale to my product. recieved my decking a week later. Noticed a few with damage from strapping. Once I opened the load, 10 of 38 boards had serious scratches, some had imbedded rocks, 3 of 4 fascia not usable..at $100 plus each, handling in the supply chain and shipping leaves a lot to be desired. Sales guy got Timbertech to cover and replace. After nearing completion, needed 4 more boards to finish, specifically asked for new product. 3 of 4 came scratched...again, also realized I had been sold a supersize box of hidden fasteners for 500 sq ft...my deck is 250....so half left. $480 a box..vs. $299 for 1/2 box....so out another $180...yeah, sorry about that man....not going to talk about the inconsistencies in color, thickness, quality of the framing wood.... People seem friendly enough, just not quite customer centric.

What has become more and more clearly after interacting with him for over a year is that ZAC TAKES CARE OF MY YARD AS IF IT'S HIS OWN! He does a lot of extra things and he doesn't even charge me for them. Yesterday, I came home and found Zac on all fours on my front yard weeding! For one thing, it was a 80 degree day. Also, he is NOT even expected to put out the weeds. I learned that he had been doing that without telling me because my house is on a corner lot and is very visible to people who walk by. So, Zac is not only knowledge and good at what he does but also very passionate about what he does. I could not possibly ask for more from him. I am sharing my experience with the service I received from Carl's Mower regarding my 2-year-old…read moreHonda HRX217 self-propelled lawn mower. My experience has raised serious concerns about their service practices, warranty support, and customer treatment at this Honda dealership. On April 17, 2025, Carl's Mower performed a camshaft replacement under Honda's official safety recall warranty service. During this service, they also replaced the mower's carburetor without my prior knowledge or authorization. I submitted a written complaint to Carl's Mower about replacing the carburetor to which they responded by stating they would strive to improve communication. On May 8, 2025, I had to return the mower to Carl's Mower because the mower would no longer idle - an issue clearly related to the newly installed carburetor. Later that same evening, I received a voicemail saying the mower was ready for pickup. When I arrived the next morning, May 9, the sales representative asked if I had used any ethanol-containing gasoline in the mower since their warranty work to replace the camshaft. I said Yes, I used regular unleaded gasoline from the gas station which contained up to 10% ethanol (E10) - which fully complies with Honda's published fuel recommendations. Despite this, they refused to perform any adjustments under warranty, citing the use of ethanol content gasoline was a disqualifier, and that I would have to pay to adjust the carburetor idle. I pointed out that even the Honda Owner's Manual (WPC.204008.2021.04) on page 15 explicitly states that gasoline containing up to 10% ethanol (E10) is acceptable. The representative stood by their decision and reiterated they would not perform any service unless I would pay for it. I refused of course and asked for my mower back. To my surprise, when I left the building, I found they had strangely already loaded my mower into the bed of my truck without my knowledge or consent. After bringing the mower home, I personally adjusted the throttle cable to correct the idle issue. But when I went to fill the fuel tank, I found a significant amount of dirt and debris inside the mower's plastic fuel tank - as if a handful of dirt had been thrown inside. I have used the same clean, filtered gas can for years and cannot explain the dirt contamination. The only times the mower has been handled or refueled were during Carl's Mower's camshaft recall warranty work and the follow-up carburetor service. I thoroughly cleaned the tank, the lines, tank filter and carburetor bowl, and refilled the mower with gasoline. There was no dirt or contaminants in the gas tank. Since then, the mower has run without issue, and no further contamination has appeared. This experience leaves me deeply concerned about Carl's Mower's service integrity: * Unauthorized part replacement * Not providing the old carburetor part when requested * Refusal to provide follow-up service on their own parts replacement work * Misrepresentation of Honda's safe fuel guidelines specifically regarding the Authorized use of 10% ethanol containing gasoline * Apparent mishandling or contamination of my mower's fuel tank Based on these events, I no longer trust Carl's Mower and will never return, choosing to take my business to Lynden. I am also disappointed that such a dealership represents the Honda brand, which I have long trusted for quality and reliability in my mower, pressure washer, and generator for decades. Customers deserve authorized service centers that act professionally, follow manufacturer safe fuel guidelines, and treat warranty claims with integrity.

I was the primary consumer, asked questions, and made the final decision when selecting a chainsaw but received only a few glances. If you are a lady, you understand how rude this is.
