Visited this Goodwill location a few months ago. In short: the prices have gone up enough that it's almost not worth stopping by anymore. I'm sure rents have gone up and Goodwill is feeling the pinch like a lot of businesses/not for profits these days but when your closest competition is Value Village and your prices match or exceed VV's, that's a red flag to me. Our most recent visit was definitely our most disappointing one. I found a number of interesting looking games, two of which had multiple price stickers. These two were both card games and when I brought these to the attention of an employee I was told that the higher of the marked prices were the most recent. Each of those card games was priced at $10, which to me was ludicrous. On the other hand, large boxed games like Monopoly were less than that. Clothing was also more expensive than I'm used to in this shop and so I found very little of interest. The selection and quality varies widely as you might expect, so you never know what you're going to find. Plenty of parking out front and the staff were friendly enough. read more

Goodwill. What the hell have you done?? Obviously you are overcharging the public when it's in the name of your company. I've done my research and I know how much the CEO makes. It's sickening. This is a SCAM company and I'm sure the founders are rolling in their graves. I call this store the "Nordstroms of Goodwills". Yes, it is THAT awesome! I'm not a big thrifter per se, but my kids are and, with them, I've been to a ton of thrift shops in OR, WA and in my new hometown of Vancouver, BC. This Goodwill is IMO the gold standard of thrift shops. I've visited here a few times just to donate bags of clothes that no longer fit me, but until recently, I've never shopped around in here. But on my last visit when donating bags, the lady who helped me suggested I "shop around", so I decided to have a look-see, if only to write a Yelp review. But man oh man, I was blown away by this place! Here's why: -it's huge, immaculate, incredibly well-laid out, with clear and large signage suspended from the ceilings, so at a glance you can see where every department is located (i.e., womens, mens, kids, household, toys, etc). -the people who work here are incredibly friendly and helpful. Even when I was bringing in my bags to donate, the woman at the front cash came over immediately to help me put these big bags in their donation bin at the front of the store. I didn't ask her to help me, and I wasn't really struggling, but boy, it was nice to get the assistance. (Note: there is a donation area at the rear of the store but I drove around this complex of stores and couldn't find the rear donation area. So I brought my bags of clothes into the store via the front door). -the store is laid out like a real store/boutique with display tables and mannequins in the front (when I visited, since is was early June, they had a summer theme going, with mannequins in swimsuits and beach attire, displaying summery accessories, and colorful beach towels on tables, etc). -there are a bunch of fitting rooms here and they are large and immaculate. -the clothing sections were the most organized I have ever seen, hands down, anywhere. I checked out the women's section for a long time. There were long areas labelled "activewear", "short-sleeved tops", "long-sleeved tops", "capris", "jeans", "pants", "sweaters", "jackets", "swimwear". Within each section, the clothes were arranged by size (small, medium, large). (Note: there is a whole 'nother large section just for plus size women). And THEN, within each section organized by size, all the clothes were arranged by color (all the whites, then yellows, then oranges, then reds, etc., etc). I have not seen such attention to detail in organizing clothes in a thrift store anywhere -Now I have to mention the clothing itself, as this was another feature of the store that blew me away. Not only was the selection of clothing in each section huge and meticulously organized, but the clothing itself was bloody AMAZING. Everything looked new. I kid you not. Many items still had original tags on them but those items that didn't still looked new. I looked through everything (I was there a LONG time). I didn't see one item that had an errant thread or a missing button or a defective zipper or a rip or tear or stain. Nothing had a weird, musky smell (some stuff from thrift stores have a musky smell. I know you know what I'm talking about). Every single item was in pristine condition. And I am no fashionita but even I recognized SO many big, high-end brand names: Nicole Miller, Ann Taylor, Patagonia, Columbia, Michael Kors, Guess, True Religion, Brandy Melville, Madewell....... So many more, I can't remember. Oh, Adidas, Nike, Puma, Athletica..... You get the idea. High quality, brand names, all in pristine condition. -I see some people complaining about pricing here. Well, compared to so many thrift stores, this Goodwill's pricing is freaking amazing! Tops are in the $3.99-5.99 range (keep in mind, some are totally new, the rest look totally new, and are in perfect condition). Jackets were $7.99-24.99. I got a bunch of tops and 2 light-weight jackets and a designer sweatshirt for under $40. C'mon, you can't beat that! And keep in mind, Goodwill isn't a for-profit organization. The money they get goes to their mission (check out their website for info on this wonderful organization and to learn how it helps people get back on their feet, in communities across the US). I really have a hard time understanding how reviewers here are complaining about the prices of items here. A new Puma work-out tank top, NEW, for $2.99? C'mon! (NOTE: every Wednesday they give an extra 20% discount to military people and folks over 62 years old. Hey, that's me! Bonus!). The household/linens area isn't large and many shelves were empty but the lady at the cash told me they'd be remodeling this area soon. So stay tuned! This is a wonderful store, and I am adding it to my "must go-to" list of places whenever I visit B'Ham. read more

Lots of parking and a lot of neat things. We were here in the summer and I noticed the staff were efficient and looked after the customers professionally. Whether they were tourists or avid thrifters or folks down on their luck, they were patient and welcoming. read more

Oh Goodwill, what would I do without you? From shopping for toys for my babies when they were little, to helping me find furniture during a recent Major Life Transition, you've always been there for me - especially when the finances were tight. You've helped me find Halloween costumes, puzzles, furniture, clothes, and yes even tools to feed my hobbies (hello cheap fabric, I love you so). And don't even get me started on how may cookbooks I've bought from you - your selection is excellent and you have the fairest book prices in town. Your staff is pretty super, too, always friendly and helpful, and keeping the store neat and clean. The only thing that really dismays me is that your selection of stuff really feels stale sometimes. I visit other Goodwills on my travels to the south and they seem to have a better inventory, with fewer outdated items and more trendy stuff. Is this a distribution problem? Or am I just not getting there often enough to find the really cool junk? Either way, Goodwill, I couldn't live without you. If you were on Bumble, we'd be dating by now! read more

$38 for a tube top. Ridiculous. Do better. Seriously. This shirt unfortunately had the original tag on it ($88 but this price is NOT current). Even so, you guys got this item for FREE. Do you really need to turn THAT much of a profit when you aren't actually manufacturing the items you're selling? It's just odd behavior and it really takes the fun out of thrifting when you guys are selling items for more than 1) their worth and 2) the price of the item online. As a person who visits thrift shops regularly (you never know what special treasure you might find) I appreciate that this Goodwill is consistently well organized and always full of "stuff". I head for the furniture section as I am on the hunt for interesting pieces to paint. Since the furniture is located in back of the store I must pass through aisles full of all kinds of tempting items hard to pass up. I agree with other reviewers that this Goodwill is overpriced. However, it is my thrift store of choice in Bellingham for the following reasons: -Plentiful parking -Convenient location -Predicable inventory and pricing -They seem to filter out the "junk" and only try to sell quality items -Clean, well-lit, and spacious -Very easy donation process -Fairly well organized -Clean bathrooms and changing rooms -Friendly and helpful staff -Weekly sales -There doesn't seem to be any kind of political or religious agenda -It's just fun to look around I almost always shop during a sale and look for the right color sticker. Unless it's something I really need or think is unique, the prices just are too high for used/donated items to buy at asking price. I have found some good craft supplies and kitchen essentials. In a college town like Bellingham, I thought the local Goodwill would be pretty picked over, but this location is large and has a pretty good selection. As you can see from the pictures, it's a fairly big store, larger than the standard non-Seattle Washington Goodwills. There was a good selection of housewares and furniture (including sets of chairs), which isn't always the case in the smaller stores. The store is pretty well laid out, though it was somewhat cluttered and messy on the day we visited. But, as another reviewer mentioned, it's clean and doesn't have "thrift store smell." Prices seem typical and they have colored tag discounts and sales. This store had a larger-than-average selection of books and the books have colored tags, too! Not all Goodwills do this, but I love when they do, because you can stock up and get some bargains. We didn't find anything on our most recent visit, but I'd stop by again when visiting Bellingham. read more

Recently I have tried twice now to drop off my full truck of donations but, when I drive up there is a line of cars stacked 10 or so deep and the employees are working in slow motion with absolutely no sense of urgency. I had the good fortune to talk to Pat the assistant manager. She was courteous, respectful and she found a way to solve my problem! My "goodwill" was restored for Goodwill Industries! I'm not a big thrift store person but my twin sister is. While visiting her in Bellingham we popped in here and I could see what she was talking about. As a Seattle resident I've experienced a lot of messy, picked-over thrift shops. This Goodwill was rather expansive, well organized, and well stocked. I loved looked through all of the kitchen utensils, the boxes and organizers, as well as the furniture. Lots of gems here that you won't find in urban areas! She found herself a couple of items for her home and I was busy thinking, "do I need anything?" I almost walked out with a few items but the lines were pretty long and I wasn't in dire need of 10 bars of soap that just had to be brought back to Seattle. I'll pop back in another time and spend more time here. The kids' aisle looked great for shopping for gifts as well. Lots of unused items. read more

Hands down the cleanest, most well-organized thrift store I have ever been too. Really easy to get through aisles, organized shelves, and the sections are clearly marked. I stopped in for some baskets & organizing supplies, and found a good deal of variety. As some people have mentioned, items are often marked higher than reasonable, and there is inconsistency with the pricing. I.e. I found a metal basket in one one part of the store for a great price, and it's identical twin in another area being used to corral some items, but, it was $5 more, despite it being more scratched up than the one in my hand. So, just keep an eye out and don't fall for the "it's at a goodwill so this must be a good deal" mindset! read more

Goodwill is not a place that I grew up shopping at, but in my twenties it quickly earned a special place in my heart. I used to shop only for costumes for highschool plays.Now I go to find awesome deals on glassware and area rugs. I am not a huge fan of their clothing prices. I think Macklemore's success several years ago had an influence on how much thrift stores could charge for items, supply and demand right? A single dress can be $9-$15 on an average day. Labels boasts more competitive pricing than that on higher quality items. We have had some great finds in the furniture and houseware departments though. Those items seems to be priced more effectively. I don't mind paying $1.99 for a glass, or $20 for a 7X12 ft. area rug. The store is kept tidy during off hours, and the staff is very friendly. Today when we went we bought a very large rug, and one of the employees helped us brainstorm ways to fit it into our very tiny car. I frequent this store several times a month, but my expectations are always lower than the other thrift stores in town. read more

For what Goodwill is, they are a great organization. I have never been inside shopping, but I utilize their drop off back door for things that I don't need any more, but are too nice to take to the dump. Goodwill provides things to people who need them, and it keeps things out of our landfills. The service at the drop off is great, they help you unload things and you can even get a receipt for your taxes. If you ever have a garage sale, don't throw out what doesn't sell, just take it to Goodwill as a charitable donation. read more

I'm not normally a thrift shopper, but I moved to Bellingham a year ago and was on a budget when I started my new job. Most Good Wills I've been to have a rotten selection of clothing, but I got six really nice sweaters, a pair of gloves and a pair of work shoes for $30. They weren't stained and some even still had the tags on them. I've found Gap clothes and all sorts of expensive items. My second favorite Goodwill with the Seattle Dearborn location being my first fav. This store is clean, well lit, well organized, well kept, their selection/quality of items is good, and the employees are more often than not friendly and not rushed or grumpy. The only irritation with this location is the shared parking lot with so many other businesses, but that's a stupid silly lazy annoyance that I shouldn't even be mentioning. read more

Love that all red tag items were only $1.79 yesterday. Nice customer service too -- I was talking with my husband and noticed my eight-year-old at the counter near the fitting rooms. He is interested in old film and had asked the staff behind the counter if he could see a very old Kodak collectible camera. I overheard the man showing my son the camera and talking with him just as one would talk with any adult customer. Very nice! Thank you for that. I was really pleased at the amount and variety of all the items displayed! We found 3 lamps and a lamp shade for the cost of just one lamp we were eye'ing at a furniture store (and our goodwill find was cooler!) Like any thrift store, it's hit or miss, but I'll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled at this location! Surprisingly clean and well stocked Goodwill. The store is well organized, clean and welcoming. Staff is friendly and prices are realistic (perhaps because it is a college town?). Overpriced. Unclear on their hold policies. I asked three different people and they all had different answers. My item was put on hold for what I was told would be 24 hours. Apparently this is only true if you pay for the item when you place a hold on it. I was never made aware of this and my item was sold to someone else. I came back in the next day and was told "there's nothing we can do." Disappointing. read more
