This Place use to be Good. Items are used and expensive for example I found a solar light the kind you put on patio to allow light to come in. It was scratched and used I asked one of the reps to help me and give me price and he said he said $60 new is $65 another example a 14 x 14 air vent new at home Depot $21.95 here $20 Hello what is the benefit ???. and when I asked why so much African American guy with Glass's say we are so % lower then store i said no and he gave me an attitude Place needs a clean up. I've been in here when it's been good, but the last few times I've been in have left me feeling a little less happy with the service they provide. They have increased the prices on many of their big ticket items. They used and unused furniture prices are ridiculously high. They're selling pieces of each sectional separately for outrageous prices.The outdated media centers and credenzas are way overpriced. In addition, some of the odds and ends are so obscure and I can't even fathom as to their function. In the past, I have found getting there early in the day is better. Often times, the contractors get there early and wipe out all the good stuff. That's not to say that there isn't any good stuff there. There is if you know what you're looking for. read more

Years ago this place had a great selection of building materials at awesome prices. Sadly that is not the case anymore. A large portion of the warehouse is crowded with overpriced garage sale junk. Some examples: a rusty washing machine that was at least 30 years old (avocado green) for $85, some well worn couches for $400 and some used bikes missing key components (seats, handlebars, forks, etc.) for around $100. There were some building components but you could easily buy brand new at Home Depot for less---there's no way I am going to pay $275 for a used metal French door missing the frame and hinges or $125 for a banged up wood door. If this is the way this store is all the time, it is a big waste of resources for this charity since I seriously doubt they sell enough to cover their overhead and employee expenses. Head a bit north to the Redlands Restore....their prices are more in line with what you would expect for used building materials. read more

Nicely sorted and clean, but they're asking high prices for literal garbage. It's hilarious. Old couch that would not sell online for $250? It's $999 here. Broken doors, broken windows, broken cabinets. Countertops with a cooked sink-hole pre-cut. Hideous art and light fixtures. I've been in here three times hoping to find something usable and am always shocked at the broken/damaged merchandise up for offer. Who is buying this? read more

Pretty good selection of new and used home renovation items. Check your local stores for current prices b fore going here. Some items are cheaper, some are more expensive. They have a great selection of doors, cabinet doors, and drawer fronts if you need to match a missing or damaged item. read more

This is truly a well set up store. There was more furniture than expected as well as the prices being more than fair. We asked for help and we were greeted with nothing but smiles couldn't have asked for better customer service. Modesta is very helpful, straightforward, and nothing but smiles. I also saw how hard they work in the back back of the warehouse and I wanna say thank you for pulling product onto the floor. Keep up the great attitude and positive energy!!!!!! I just called ReStore to see if they would like 300 square feet of new carpet and padding and they just told me that it was not cost effective for them to pick it up.. You know you try and do something good and they shoot you down... Looks like the dump will get better use out of it.. read more

My husband just left this store and had a bad experience. As stated in some of the other reviews, The female employee was really rude and unprofessional to him. He went in to purchase 6 brown chairs which I had inquired about on offerup, Unfortunately, He missed picking them up yesterday when I was told they would be 50% off, My hubby asked if they would still honor the price and the female employee said no, which was fine, but she didn't have to be rude. He still tried to purchase the chairs at their regular price with his debit card and for whatever reason that didn't happen, So he could have went to get the cash out and purchase but her overall customer service was horrible! Not sure if it was the color of my hubbys skin or "what her problem" was but my hubby is an Army veteran, law enforcement officer and he was born here! He did say they had alot of nice things he wanted to purchase in the store, but due to the horrible customer service he received, he will never go back. Sad thing is we really wanted those chairs, but we'll be taking our business elsewhere. Fyi, This is the very first bad review I have left on yelp. read more

Aww I am so sad about this review. I read the others before I drove to this HFH and alas, the reviews I read are true. I have recently been to Home Depot and Lowe's for current house projects, and yes, the light fixtures and such are near the same price- only brand new and flawless and protected by a return policy. When I got to the Riverside HFH, all furniture was 50% off which was cool... Only the furniture there is exorbitant. I saw a small table I could use as a work table in my garage- I promise you- the price was $125. Unfortunately, even though this store is for a good cause, it isn't best place for saving money- at all. I HIGHLY recommend the Redlands branch. It is so much better- and yes, the staff there is friendlier by a long shot. At the riverside HFH I felt like I was only in the way. I won't be returning there. :( read more

The manager/pricier at this store is rude and prices items way to high. They would probably make more money for the organization if she would come way down on prices. $600.00 for a broken mirror, $75.00 for two small wooden decrative boxes. Unbelievable. In addition to all the home improvment items thay have great workshops and events! It seems like at least once a month there is something neat going on. Everything from pet events, local artist work, craft worshops, make and take events and many more. The employees are dedicated and passionate about the cause. Everything purchased in store gose to building homes, I'd much rather give them the money instead of a big box chain. read more

I've been to this store several times and have never bought anything there because of the extremely high prices. most of the items can be bought for less brand new in the store. I've seen rusty beat up 1980's washer and dryers for $125 each (untested) they have worn out records with split sleeves for $5 each and filthy beat up plastic vacuum cleaners priced at $69.99! Lord help you If they think anything is a "collectible" then it goes behind the counter on a shelf and displays a price tag that would make Bill Gates wince. They have had a bunch of 1970's Snoopy plastic paperweights at $20 a piece for about 6 months now with no takers,you'd think someone there would get a clue. Too top it off the staff is lazy and rude. I was interested in a stove they had for sale but it was missing a few of the burner covers and was about 10 years old.I asked if they'd take less than $200 for for and the mexican woman with long hair who works there told me "it can just sit there until it sells,you dont have to buy it". No kidding! thats the actual remark she made to me in front of other customers. I think its very sad,after all these are all donated items and the whole concept of Habitat for Humanitys restore is to offer used goods to low income familys who cant afford to buy new,and then use the money they make for their building projects. Whoever manages these stores really needs to take stock of things and get things running in like they should.They also need to replace the rude women they have working there with employees who actually care about helping their customers and can conduct themselves in a professional manner. I have come to begrudngly understand mgmt mentality at this store ....and while they are most definitely out of my budget they do have some extremely high end items that even priced at what I consider outrageous are priced at 50% less than retail so they are saving somebody a ton of money. And pricing them at 50% of retail clearly allows them a greater ability to help the people that they're building homes for... Still not a fan of there no return policy on items that don't work but overall they're good place to shop and when that stuff if there's any that doesn't sell it down to a price that I can afford. Ihave been to this re-store and the one in Redland...and liked each for different reasons...this store is more expensive ...but if you are in need of kitchen cabinet door they have a very large selection...but at $5.00 a door I'm holding out for Redlands where they price theirs at a buck. At riverside if something isn't priced your out of luck there is never a manager around to price it...and don't try to return .. I bought a little CD player priced at 10.00. I asked if there was any problems could I return it... Instead we plugged it in and it seemed fine ...later same day in garage CD player stops playing after 3-4 min. I take it bck. Nope . Exchange? Store credit? Just no. No nononon. Pffft. Lesson learned. read more

They had framed pictures at half price this week. I buy them for the frames. So you get a nice frame for $1-7 on average. Often with matting. I just measure what I want to frame and then go hunting. Keep your eyes on what is on sale each week. You should ALWAYS be able to get stuff at 50% off. May just have to wait a week or two. So keep coming back. I usually pop in every other week to see what they have now. Here are some of the things I have gotten over the past couple years: A nice wood desk in my office that probably came out of a hotel or dorm. Got it for $20. An old wooden table with 3 chairs in my kitchen - $25. Some great wooden bar stools with swivel chairs- $20 each. Awesome vanity with marble top $50 (it had a slight chip). 2 awesome lamps we put in our kitchen when we were remodeling. One was new and the other pretty old, so we had to rewire it. But it is sooo cool and I believe we spent less than $80 for the 2. Today we also got 2 kitchen cabinets and a sink for $25 total we are putting them in an old place we are repairing. A couple great doors for our son's place. Etc. Etc. So hit or miss, but keep coming back and you will get some awesome stuff. Also not sure what everyone else is talking about the staff.
