I'm so glad the denizens of Yelp had already reviewed this particular locale, because I knew I was in for a treat. I only spent a few bucks but I walked out with a fun assortment of treasures! I got some vintage domino pieces I plan to turn into jewelry as well as some old toy pieces, etc. There is such a random assortment of odds and ends, from pure vintage items to glorified junk--you have to be willing to commit to the search, which is half the fun. This past Shop Small Saturday, I visited with 4 other people and her shop was (safely) bustling. I found a record for $1 outside and I did not have any cash - instead of having me use my card for a buck, she gave me the record for free. These types of small things make people come back and bring other people with them. This is a gem of a store (located just a couple blocks from where I used to live) in Seminole Heights. There's a couple shelves of shoes and bric a brac on this side of the store. Then you walk into the other side for the men's clothes, bric a brac, and furniture. I'd say they have the most clothes of anything. You have to search, but there are a few reasonably priced items mixed in. Prices have gone up at just thrift stores since yrs become a "thing". We'd been to another community thrift on the east coast and really liked it. Although this store was much larger, their prices weren't as amenable. We did find a few things to buy here, however.

There is just so much to go through. Which I personally love being an avid thrift goer. At this location I found so many books! I think I bought around 15(?) books. I will say, I wish their books were slightly cheaper like other thrift stores. Usually other stores charge $1 for paperback and $2 for hard cover. This one is charging from a range of $3-$6 per book but most that I got were $3-$4. Still, I'd rather pay this than full price for books. And they were all in great condition as well. This thrift store only accepts cash!!!!! So keep that in mind. Though, I do believe there's an atm. No fitting rooms, so wear something you're able to try on clothes on top of! I usually wear workout clothes and all black or neutral so I can try on clothes on-top and envision what the piece will look like on its own. Shoes?! Oh my...there's sooo many shoes. There's definitely something for anyone and everyone at this thrift store!! Also, something fun about this store is they have different color tags on every item and then they change the colors (I'm not sure if it's everyday or every week but) each color will be listed on screens around the store and it'll say 75%, 50% and 25% off. I tried to go Friday morning thinking they would be open. Wrong. I left my donations out back of…read morethe store. I almost put them in a big blue dumpster until a lady pointed out a little wooden box, that looked like a chicken coup to me. Neither the dumpster or the box was labeled for donations. The sign on the store said open only on Saturdays. Missed them again today. I think they closed at 3pm. Not giving up , will try another Saturday. Hope they label the dumpster and donation boxes, as when I looked in the blue dumpster it was hard to tell if the items were trash or donations (half a case of Pepsi and a few rubber type storage bowls. I'm going to try again to go when they are open, anything that takes this much effort to visit just has to be worth it! (Yes, I'm an optimist).
