It used to be convenient to pull up to their parking lot and someone would assist at their loading dock. It's more of a hassle now and the workers aren't as friendly. I also saw a worker pull out a pair of newer athletic shoes out of a bin. I don't want to speculate, but seemed a little fishy. I saw another Donation Center on Artesia Blvd. closer to Hermosa Beach. Their prices also have steadily increased. I saw several items with original tags in them and the goodwill prices are marked higher! Those items could have been sitting at someone's closet for years! Also, the chain has started doing $2 clothing color tag promos on the weekends, but this location seems to purposely pick a color that has the least amount of items (or they would put diff color tags to most of their clothing days before) so customers could not utilize this promo. The salvation army down the street actually has better color tag promos. You may find some rare treasures here, but they will be priced absurdly. I would try elsewhere.

Thus she can stop into any close Goodwill location, donate, and then stop into the adjoining thrift retail store to do a little shopping. That's exactly what we did on a Saturday afternoon when we were in Redondo Beach for brunch. Dropping off the clothes was simple and manual. There is a QR code to scan, to automatically generate a tax receipt for the donation. Unfortunately, the first step of creating an account via an email never worked, so gave up to try again later. Nevertheless, it was a good stop, where she bought a dress for herself and one for her mom. The store was well staffed with helpful associates. I usually peruse the used records, books, and toy section...not a great selection at this store, but probably a good thing for me personally, since I don't really have the space.

They have tons of a little bit of everything. They have tons of women's clothing, tons of men's clothing, tons of T-shirts, and a whole lot of shoes. Really! A lot of shoes! The store is what I would say is a step above shopping at a thrift store. What they do here is, offer the best of the best of vintage clothing. So, when you go in here, you know you're going to find high-quality items. This is not to say that they're cheap. For some, their prices may be considered a little bit high. But, again, what you're getting is the best of the best of vintage clothing, and sometimes you have to pay for that privilege. Depending on what you're looking for, this store may very well have it. From my experience, this store is most commonly geared towards a younger audience. They have tons of T-shirts, jeans, and a lot of stuff that could be considered on the more casual side of the picture. For example, when I shop a vintage store, I'm commonly looking men's sport coats and suits, and stuff along that line. They really don't have a good selection of these items. This is just something to keep in mind if you're looking for that kind of thing. But, on the other hand, if you're looking for all of the more casual style of clothing, they have a lot of it. Located on Hawthorne Boulevard, this store is fairly easy to find. They have a parking lot in the front and the rear, which sometimes can become kind of full. So, you may have to park on the street. This is because of the fact this store is a very popular shop. A lot of people come here, particularly on the weekends. And, when they have their sales, forget about it. The store is packed. One way or the other, if you're looking for that vintage piece of clothing, that really cool something, that T-shirt that you've been looking for forever, that pair of really cool shoes, or whatever else, this may be your place to find it.

Retail: The retail area of this location was well organized into sections for clothing, furniture, books, home goods, etc. The area was well organized as there are some patrons that will not replace items properly and putting that on the staff to fix (be a better shopper to those of you who throw the stuff you look at). For the merchandise being donations the staff does a nice job of sorting out the good items for sale. Donation area: Fast, convenient, personable, and friendly are the words to describe the nice people I dealt with in donating. Easy experience and I am grateful that my unused items could possibly benefit someone else. Charity Rating: Salvation Army rates a 3 out 4 on charitynavigator.com, an A rating on charity watch.org, and meets all standards on give.org. This is a safe charity to donate to in my opinion.

I checked to make sure it turned on and cleaned it up when I got home. Bought my oldest the "Elf" movie on dvd, that he's been asking to see since he saw the preview last summer. As I was flipping through the dress section, a dress that was hanging off of the metal bar of the rack (not on a hanger) fell to the ground. I picked it up and put it back on the bar that it fell from. As I was doing this an employee (heavier set Latina girl with blondish brown hair in a ponytail and glasses) walks by and says "Can you please not do that?!" I said, "Oh it just fell down from there so I was putting it back. It wasn't on a hanger." To which she replied, "There are hangers all around." Ummm did she mean the ones that already had clothes on them? Or does she mean that since I was trying to be nice and pick a dress up of of the floor, I should've gone up to the front desk to find an available hanger to properly hang the dress? I just said, "Ok well next time I won't pick it up at all, I'll just leave it on the floor." And she just walked away. I'm not an employee, it isn't my job to find a hanger for loose clothing items. Or maybe she could've at least been polite about it or done it herself because, you know, it's literally her job. I've been shopping at this store regularly for almost 20 years and I never had such an experience. As an avid thrifter, I try to do my part to hang something up if it's falling off of a hanger or pick something up off of the ground if I come across it. I try to do my part to keep one of my favorite thrift spots neat. But apparently, no good deed goes unpunished. So be aware: if you see a clothing item that has fallen off of a rack, just leave it on the floor to be trampled on instead. Or stop everything you're doing so you can hunt down an available hanger and hang the item properly as per employee request.

And they don't have any funny or funky smells either. It is the most organized Goodwill I have ever been to. They even went out of their way to decorate a room like you're in someone's house. (See attached picture with the chairs.) Their price points are reasonable (found bar stools for $10) unlike some thrift stores who price items higher than their original tags. I came through in the hopes I'd find a computer mouse (needed one STAT, albeit temporarily) and scored a brand new one here for $6. But yes - I left here incredibly impressed at how nice this Goodwill is. Might be making more stops in the future.

He replied that they were and would be happy to accept the donation After loading the table and chairs and driving to the location the assistant manager said they did not have room for the items and refused to the donation. We asked to speak to the manager Christian and were told he was at lunch. Sure doesn't sound like goodwill is in the donation or the people business! Don't waste your time!
