Hacienda Don Cuco's stands out in a lot of ways. First of all the food here is really good, they have all of the classic options and I have never left hungry or unsatisfied with my meal, it's truly a great value. They they also have a new sushi menu that is actually really good offering Mexican fusion sushi that is unlike anything I have ever tasted and truly hits the spot if you're craving sushi, my new goto for sushi in the AV! Their bar is excellent and offers up some seriously well made cocktails and drink options. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice and their bartenders are great. They have fresh beer on tap and some really good margaritas. They have a full bar though and will make you anything you want which is great. Most importantly the staff and service here is rock solid. Super attentive and friendly, they never fail to make my experience a great one. I really enjoy the live music too, it really sets it apart from other restaurants in the area. Wow. Just wow. My family and I went here, and I'm 36 weeks pregnant -- and we all ended up in the ER with food poisoning. My husband didn't eat his food because his ceviche was room temperature... he was the only one who didn't get sick. Another review mentioned the same thing, so clearly something is grossly wrong in the kitchen. And let's talk about the food: it wasn't even good. I visited Havienda Don Cuco with my family during an unfortunate reunion to celebrate the life of my uncle. We all met up here for the first time in a long time. The staff were super professional and kind with the busy commotion. The restaurant itself is cozy and nicely decorated. Because we were a large group, we sat in the middle at the large table. We had called earlier in the day to reserve a spot and everything was prepared for us upon arrival. The menu had lots of options for everyone, including my vegetarian aunt, so this was great. We all enjoyed our large meals (enough to take back to the hotels and enjoy later). All of our drinks were always filled, which is amazing considering there were 15 of us. We returned on a Friday this time, atmosphere was definitely busier but still did not disappoint. As busy as it was the service was still razor sharp and excellent. We decided to continue with new menu items and drinks, this is kinda our thing. We love trying everything that is offered and leaving honest reviews. Once again, delicious. This time we had a Molcajete, Cuco burger (double with bacon), camarones Cuco and 2 mixed drinks. (Skinny mango margarita and a Paloma, both large) We asked for a spicy option on the choices because we love a good kick! I noticed after the request that the food was served with jalapeños on top which if it's normal or not, was a pretty nice addition. We appreciated the accompaniment. The drinks definitely felt value added. If you're not looking to spend too much or get tipsy, stick with the smaller size. The largest was perfect for us. I ordered a spicy skinny margarita and received a bowl of an overly sweet concoction that was not spicy at all and tasted like a supermarket margarita mix. Excellent service and nice twist to traditional Mexican dishes. Food is freshly made and presented well. Mojara frita was cooked to perfection, salad was crispy green and chilled. No words can describe... My husband and I ate here about 4 days ago. We've been a few times many years ago, and thought we'd enjoy late lunch. Fast forward a few hours and I'm in the throes of full food poisoning. Gut wrenching agony and all of the 'things' that goes along with it. I order food to go and yep, you guessed it. I must give the Salsa a 10, the Beans an 8 and the rice an 8 only because It's missing Moms je ne sais quoi that "Sason" you know what I mean? But Trust me, it was Delicious! Or more like loads of cheese with little to no rice... My shrimp cocktail had a mountain of cilantro and the shrimp had no taste... please Don Cuco , add a little salt at least. We were seated pretty quickly which is a plus, but it wasn't really busy . The table was a little sticky. I was looking at the walls and couldn't help but notice brown paint or liquid that looks like it was running down and dried. Not sure if that was part of the decoration, if so that's weird . The seats were a little old and look like some parts were peeling?? The food was decent. The service was not so great. I had to ask for water and napkins at least 3 times (about 15 minutes). Usually, water and napkins is the first thing you get when you're seated at a restaurant. I had to flag down a waiter for our check , waited over 15 minutes for someone to bring us the check. We came in today for some lunch around 1230. They were not busy at all. There was about 2 or 3 other tables with people. The rest of the restaurant was empty. We got sat down and had our order taken. First order of drinks came out in a timely manner. But we were not offered any refils and our waiter didnt check on us at all for avout 40 minutes. Keep in mind the restaurant was pretty much empty. It took well over 45 minutes for us to get our food. My food was bland and room temperature. They forgot to bring several of our party tortillas. And we had to wait another 10 minutes for those to come which made our food even colder than it already was. We also ordered guacamole when we first sat down for our chips and salsa. That didn't come out till about an hour of us being there and they had to ve reminded of it.... also the price of a Michelada was insane it was $17.95 plus tax... save your time and money. Go somewhere else. This restaurant is old inside, dusty, seats all ran down, poor service, and mediocre food. There are several other Mexican restraunts within 10 minutes that are way better. read more

First visit in a long time. The salsa was mild but flavorful. For appetizers we ordered guacamole and a cheese and onion quesadilla. Unfortunately, the Quesadilla was not hot enough so we sent it back for more grill marks. Similarly, the Shrimp Enchiladas tasted quite good but were barely warm. I tried the Arroz con Pollo - it wasn't bad, just not the best I've ever had, although I have to be fair and compliment the chicken's being flavorful. I'd asked for extra melted cheese on top and maybe part of the problem was that they forgot that in the kitchen. Overall, not bad, but there are other Mexican restaurants we prefer. read more
