This restaurant is definitely inviting on the outside especially at night, their sign draws you in. Not at all what we expected once inside, my husband and I were sat down at a tiny table on the upper floor, our drinks and food barely fit. The restaurant felt more like a banquet hall and not a restaurant. We asked for chips and salsa when we arrived and never got them, I guess they don't serve any. The carpet was stained and dirty, it didn't feel clean as we ate our food. We went on a Sunday which we didn't know they had brunch and live mariachi. We tried the fish and shrimp tacos which were absolutely delicious and over stuffed. The shrimp agua chiles were also delicious. The campechana cocktail was also great but hard to enjoy as it was filled to the top, couldn't mix it after adding chile, lemon etc. Also, I had to ask for a spoon, never had it with a fork before lol. The michelada was plain, needed more spices didn't finish it. It took a long time to get our waters and michelada but over 45 minutes to get our food, slow service. Waitress said it was due to the brunch food being cooked and refilled. We'll probably be back on a different day for the regular food on the menu or try their Sunday brunch for faster service. Ate there for the first time tonight. My friend told me it was the best Mexican food and a van low Valley that it was traditional. Nothing traditional about it was the same item you'd find that any Mexican restaurant in the valley. The food I'll give it a three stars max everything was overly salty. Both of us had the fajitas with chicken beef and shrimp and the shrimp were OK. The chicken was good and the meat was so thin and overcooked and salty whatever they marinated in burned your mouth so avoid those we just had sodas to drink and they were fine. I heard the bar wasn't good so we stayed away from that. The sad part is we were the only people in the entire restaurant and we won last Saturday around 7 PM. It was colder than heck though they left the front door open and it was getting cold and windy outside and all that came in the restaurant was quite disappointed will never go back and I don't really know why my friend thought it was the most amazing food she'd have it certainly wasn't on the day we went and I don't see how they stay open because we were the only one in there and finally two guys came in and ordered beers and some chips and we left. There was no one there at all and this is a Saturday night. Any other Mexican restaurant would be full. Save your money go to someplace like Medrano's delicious always. I decided to have my 60th birthday at Xalisco's Mexican restaurant in Lancaster. They offered quality service from start to finish. It exceeded my expectations. The coordinator worked with me one on one. He allowed me to do tasting to pick the food choices that I wanted. They allowed me to pick out the decorations and ambience that I desired. They allowed extra chairs and tables just in case I went over and I did. When the sun went down, the lighting in the back just topped it all off. They included a private bar in the back for my party. They helped me with my decor. They even had a small area where you can dress and wait for your party with air conditioning. It was so special . To date everyone is still talking about it , almost 2 months later. The food was great, fresh and delicious. I have no complaints. I truly enjoyed it. It exceeded my wildest expectations. I am so pleased with everything. I will gladly have another event there and since my party, I have shared the information with many others who plan on going there . And have already went there to war the food again. Thank you Xalisco's restaurant for your quality service, for your five star presentation towards me and my 60th birthday it was amazing, until next time! I have not tasted a ceviche with right amount of shrimp, acidity, tenderness on scallop with the usual suspects. I could easily indulge myself to a full bowl of it. Great hospitality when they tending my friend's private party. I know who to call for catering when I have private party. read more

Good family friendly restaurant , we tried the buffet on Sunday it was great, lots of food and really great flavor the ambiance is great, they have Mariachi every Sunday from 12-3 and they are really good and friendly, definitely recommend you to try this place. I've never written a bad review on Yelp but this is deserving of it. My family and I waited 2 hours for our food but left before it arrived. Mind you, there were not that many occupied tables. The only reason why we waited that long is because we were told that it was going to be another 30mins after the hour had passed. The owner knew that his restaurant was a s**t show and never took the initiative to deescalate the situation with his guests. We didn't even know that there was an owner or manager until we walked out. The server had to drag him out to speak to us. What was the most upsetting is that my 2 year old's food wasn't brought out, even after bringing it up to their attention. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED. Where do I begin. It honestly take a lot for me to write a review. One star at Best. 1st time at this restaurant, 6 family members to enjoy a hosted comedy event. 92 degrees in Lancaster, this paid event is hosted with no AC, no fans, over 100 people, waitress forgot our order. Order finally arrived with no plates, food was tasty (ordered fajitas). It's a comedy show, but our experience was so bad, the only comedy was the experience. Highly advise not to come to this. Hector the owner, I believe in first impressions, this was by far a negative review. Hoping things improve with the future success of this place. The place has a perfect outside garden oasis, beautiful! I walked in to inquire about the events held there in June 2021 when restrictions had lifted. I was greeted by Rigo and he took me on a tour, he told me about a Rancho in Santa Clarita they owned and how Beautiful it was. I let him know I wanted my event in town, so we made a date to come back and test the food. While I walked the outside the place was a mess and unfortunately neglected but given it was shut down I guess it's to be expected... you decide. I saw the potential it had and wanted to give this place a chance so I came back to try the food the following week. At this appointment there was other families who were also interested I presume, and he did his best to attend us all. He kept saying he had no help and he was alone so we sat patiently. The food was so tasty and well made. I was impressed! So that day I decided I was going to book my event. I went through the menu and right away, he was trying to sell me the more expensive packages but said he could not serve my guest because again he had no staff. I opted for a moderate food selection and asked what drinks would be served. I was surprised No drinks were included on a $6000 bill. He said it was a 500 ticket minimum if I wanted drinks, mind you I only booked for 100 guest max. He insisted I get drink packages it would be $5. I realized he was talking about the alcohol so I asked if I can let him know at a later date as it was covid and we didn't know who would come and if we'd shut down. He agreed. We spoke about a guest list of 75-100 people because it was after all a pandemic. I went and visited with several vendors and each time he acted like i was a nuisance, always annoyed about something. At this point we are seeing that the outside is still neglected, several items missing or broken, rusted and dirty. We asked if the place would be cleaned, the fountain, the chandelier, cut the grass, trim the gazebo, replace the broken lights hanging above, and most definitely fix the columns falling over that held the lights. It's been a few weeks since they opened and we talked and nothing was done. Each time I needed him he was busy and a complained about everything. He made me want to cancel my event. I can't believe he is the representative for such a beautiful place. I can go on and on but I end with him scamming me out of 300 dollars, telling me I would have to buy pizzas to feed my guest. I went in one week prior to my event and the place looked the same! He declined me the $5 drinks, took $300 and never documented it for fountain drinks, and then STILL CHARGED my GUESTS! He's a scammer and a lier avoid doing business here. He took 700 for tip also! He has nothing but family there which usually is great for a family owned business but they sat and trashed talked us the entire night! My family and friends herd this guy and his staff being so rude and up charging us. Scamming everyone. I was so embarrassed, and disappointed. read more

We wanted to take my mom out for a nice Mother's Day dinner. She was the one who chose this restaurant and was excited to try somewhere new. How disappointing that we waited TWO HOURS for absolutely nothing to come out. If it hadn't been for the drinks and chips and salsa, we would have been extremely hungry. I used to work in the food industry and understand that things can go wrong and kitchens can get backed up, but waiting two hours is unacceptable!! My family and I handled the situation with respect and grace, but we will never be coming back to this restaurant not ever recommending it to anyone. Xalisco is in a building that used to be a rental hall for weddings and other events. It's a big place, with a very high ceiling, and the acoustics are awful. Not a lot of tables, and they haven't done much of anything to transform the place into a "restaurant". Bare, concrete floor. It has a lot of potential, and they are well past "start up" days. The food was very good. However they had no salad available. Or tonic water. Albondigas soup was excellent. My carne asada was perfectly cooked, seasoned nicely and tasted great. The accompanying enchilada was huge, but a little bland. Frijoles were fantastic. Food prices are fair. Drink prices were high, in my opinion. Service was fine. Nice enough people, for sure. A little slow, but like everyplace, they seem a little short staffed, so that's okay under the circumstances. What disturbed us was the noise. Blaring, screaming banda and ranchera musica--and with such terrible acoustics in the building. Impossible to carry on a conversation without raising one's voice, and the half a dozen tables were all doing the same to be heard. Worse, they turned the volume up even higher for Las Mananitas for the birthday party a few tables away. Might consider again for carry out--food was good enough--but not for dine in. read more

Can I give negative stars? My son got married this weekend. It was supposed to be a great day, yet it wasn't. I'm writing this so you all are aware of the horrible service I received at Xalisco on 10th street west. It used to be the Elegant Affairs. The owners are Hector and Rigo, Rigo is who I mainly dealt with. He is a rude and not a person who should be doing weddings. Two days before the wedding he said we didn't finish paying. Which we did. I brought the receipt and he told me to add it up. I told him it was signed by the owner saying paid in full. I shouldn't have to add it up, but I did and I explained it to him. It's his receipt, yet I had to explain it to him. So that's done. Then, it was the champagne cost. He was trying to charge us $5 a glass. Not a cork fee as per usual. So we didn't do that. Then day of we arrived at 12 pm to set up for wedding and meet vendors for deliveries. Rigo shows up and says why am I there the wedding is at 3. I told him(and he was there when his boss said this) we were told we could come at anytime to set up. He tells me no I can't I'm supposed to show up at 3. Why would I do that if wedding is at 3. It needs to be set up prior to wedding. Now he stands off to side watching us and talking to staff and not helping. He then calls other owner and tells me I need to talk to owner. So I do, and I tell owner you said I could come whenever. He said yes I did. That's it. Why am I on the phone.? The wedding is in the back of venue, so that needs to be set up obviously. He says you want chairs? Ugh yes. It's in the contract, which again he was there. He tells one guy to open shed and that's where the chairs are. WE set them up! Not him. Not the staff. We did! Then the speakers don't work so our Dj's playing music but it's not coming out right. Muffled at best. No champagne glasses for toast, no plates for cake, no servers to cut or pass out cake. Charged for sodas when we had already paid for unlimited. Are you getting what I had to deal with. Do not give them business, at least weddings or quince. Avoid avoid avoid. Beware of prices. They have the wrong prices on the menu. Some items don't even have prices. We ordered something that was recommended and it ended up being $55 for a platter of seafood. Which was not much seafood. Our margarita was $10 and we were charged $11. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but I just don't like dishonesty. The manager didn't even seem like cared. A hidden Gem!! This is by far the best tasting and freshest Mexican food in the entire antelope valley. When me and my wife walked in there was no one there!! When Bertha served us the tortilla soup, I took one sip and said this is going to be excellent!! That's all it took one sip of soup. I was right, We had ordered a three enchilada plate, it was the best I've tasted in this valley!! Don't waste your money! I've been wanting to try this place and finally did. Two waitresses and no one in the restaurant. Should of been a red flag. $170 later and was not worth it! The menu stated the tortilla soup had cheese and avocado, it did not. I ordered the table guacamole that had jalapeño, onions, cojita on it. They brought a small side of guacamole, I asked it that was the one I ordered she played it off than brought a bigger size with literally the same guacamole but with a sprinkle of cheese on it. Tacos were blan, and than the drinks were basically watered down margarita mix.
