On the plus side, I got the vehicle I was looking for at a reasonable price. On the negative side, Haddad gave me the impression that they couldn't care less about any aspect of the car buying process. It took almost 2 hours to get the finance manager to present me with paperwork to sign. When I came to pick up the car, there was another wait - the paperwork hadn't been prepared properly and they added $125 to the fees associated with the purchase. Fine, mistakes happen. But it's clear that they did nothing to get the vehicle ready for me to pick up, despite having two days to prepare. The contract says cars are sold with a full tank of gas - it had 3/8th... which I had put in when I took the car on an extended test drive! It's a plug in hybrid... they didn't plug it in, and it had 18% electric charge. The clock wasn't set. The windshield was covered in ice, making it undriveable until it was scraped off. In other words, they don't care. They say they do: they love the phrase "We want to earn your business". But actions speak louder than words, and their actions say very clearly, "Give us your money and go away." read more

I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with the service department at Haddad. On May 26, I brought in my leased vehicle (which has 26,505 miles and its lease ends this September) because it was making a strange noise whenever I pressed the accelerator. Crucially, when I dropped the car off, they did not perform any initial walkaround inspection of my vehicle. At the end of the day, they called to claim the noise was just the brakes and that they couldn't hear anything when accelerating. Since everyone who drives with me could hear it, I insisted on coming back the next morning to do a test drive with them. The next morning, I drove with the Shane Rose - Head of the Service Department. Of course, he heard the noise immediately and asked me to leave the car for another day. Later, they called again, still insisting it was a brake issue, quoting me $1,240 for OEM parts or $685 for aftermarket parts. I declined the repair, picked up my car, and drove to a nearby store. When I got out, I was shocked to discover that my bumper had been cracked and damaged while in their care. I immediately returned to the dealership. The Head of Service had already left, but his assistant promised a call the next morning after checking their security cameras. The next afternoon, the Head of Service called me while I was on my way to New York. He claimed their cameras showed I arrived with the damage--which is completely impossible. I told him I would be back in Massachusetts the following week and demanded to see the screenshots myself. He later claimed that no screenshots were saved, but still insisted I brought it in that way. The real kicker: On June 1, I took my car to the Empire dealership in New Rochelle for a second opinion. The very next day, Empire diagnosed the true problem: the transmission was failing and needed to be completely replaced. I picked up my car from Empire on June 10, and it now runs perfectly with absolutely no noise. Haddad completely misdiagnosed a major, dangerous transmission issue as a standard brake job. On June 17, I returned to Haddad to speak directly with the General Manager - Khalil Yacteen. I laid out the entire story, from the dangerous misdiagnosis to the vehicle damage. When I asked him what he would have told my family if the failing transmission had caused a catastrophic accident on the highway, his literal response was: "But no accident happened." To make matters worse, after previously being told no security footage was saved, the General Manager went back to the service department and returned with a screenshot from May 27--the second day my car was there, after it had already been in their possession overnight--claiming it proved the car arrived damaged. Avoid this dealership at all costs. Between missing a major ransmission failure, deflecting blame for vehicle damage with timeline-warped "proof," and showing a complete lack of empathy for customer safety, management and service here are entirely untrustworthy. read more

Haddad of Pittsfield: If I could give them a zero (no Star) I would. The service department is horrible. They hooked up a wire harness that does not have power from the battery(fuse system) to all wires to start with. The red one, yellow one, and one of the brake wires has no power from the battery but the other ones do. When I plug my camper into the wire harness there is only one wire with power that's the black one. Which means they didn't hook it up correctly to the manufacturers box that had to be used to connect this crap. The service manager is a horrible manager has no idea what he's doing when it comes to the Santa Cruz I know how to connect wires. He said its because they were twisted together, guess what there is still power going the ones that have power from the battery (fuse system). Now I have to find someone who knows what they are doing and connect this correctly and make sure all wires have power. The manager at Haddad was no help the service manager was no help and the service department has no idea how to do a simple wiring job for one of their own vehicle's the Santa Cruz 2025. Do not go here I will let everyone know where to get the harness installed correctly as soon as I find someone. read more

If only there is a way to rate with no stars. I would NOT recommend Haddad Hyundai, even if it is a last resort. Except for our salesman, Will, they were unprofessional, disrespectful, and insulting. I took my 88-year-old mother out to buy a car. We found one and worked with Will, and the manager on duty. We agreed on the price and interest rate. After sitting for an additional 2 hours of just waiting (1st indication - disrespecting our time) we decided to return after the paperwork was complete to sign it. When we went back, the interest rate increased 8%. (2nd indication - a question of integrity) so I decided to pay in cash. I had a cashier's check from MT Greylock for the downpayment and was paying the balance with a check from Navy Federal Credit Union. I was told they would accept the Mt Greylock check and we could drive off the lot however not from Navy Federal. (3rd indication - insulting Veterans. Navy Federal Credit focuses on veterans and their families). The final straw that prompted this extremely negative review is the time it has taken to be rebated for the downpayment and their nonchalant attitude. Ironically, they would not accept a NFCU check because they claim it takes too long to clear however have no problem taking too long to refund a downpayment. I showed up about 30mins earlier than my appointment time. There are signs at the service garage doors that indicate parking but there were no available spots to park. There's no one near the service doors to greet customers as they drive up. I parked outside of the service doors and walked in. The place looks really clean and although its a Hyundai dealership, theres a pretty blue Corvette on display in the lobby. Although several workers were sitting around in the main lobby, or walking around aimlessly, nobody greeted me when I came in. There was nobody in the service department area to greet customers. After a couple of minutes standing around staring at people, someone who had just walked in the door asked if they could help me. He had to go out to the garage to find someone in the service department who could help. After getting checked in, the rep asked for my keys, pulled my car in the garage, and didn't say anything else. As a matter of fact, when she came back in, she walked past me and didn't say a word. I sat in the lobby to wait. This is the first Hyundai I've been to that offers no free beverages or snacks for customers. I've owned Hyundais for about 7 years and have visited dealerships all around the country. The cold/hot water dispenser next to the vending machines had no cups in or near it in case someone was actually interested in a cup of water. The bathrooms are really clean, which was nice. The staff seem to be very social with each other but lacking in customer service and basic professional communication with the customers. After waiting for what i thought was long enough to be sitting without any updates, I went to the Svc Dept counter and my car was ready. My car was ready within about an hour. Which was nice and surprising. After inspection, I realized that I got the wrong oil. I have had synthetic oil in my car for years and they replaced it with something else. It would be understandable if I didn't deliberately make a note in the comments section when I booked the appointment and also, my previous oil change sticker noted it as well. So I returned to let them know. They fixed the issue at no extra charge, which was much appreciated. Again, no additional information, like an eta, was given. So I went and sat down to wait for my 2nd oil change. I decided to check out the Corvette and asked a rep to see inside (the doors were locked) but was told that I couldn't because it was sold. There were no "sold" signs on it or near it. And after I suggested to the rep that maybe there should be a "sold" sign placed on it so people know, he fake laughed and said, "Yeah, I know." And after watching for another 30 mins, no attempt was made by anyone to put a sold sign on or near it. Not one initiated conversation with me or asked if I needed anything during either of my hour long wait times. I sat in the lobby for over two hours. I did, however, receive a lot of awkward looks, awkward smiles, and respectful nods from several people walking around--and from some of them, I received these gestures multiple times. After waiting for what I thought may have been long enough without any update, I got in line in the service department to be informed that my car was ready. The rep apolgized and gave me the keys. My car wasn't parked out front so I had to go search for my car in the parking lot. This was not an enjoyable experience for me but it was definitely a memorable one. I hope things can improve around here for customers. I'm glad I don't have to ever come back. read more

Now that I went to the police they tried saying I never even bought the tires there until I gave them the recept!! Great car buying experience!! I went to check out a used Jeep Grand Cherokee, I had happened to see gleaming in the sunshine as I drove by earlier in the day... I checked out the entire vehicle very good condition and beautiful exterior and interior. The sales staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Brandy was my salesperson, she was lovely. Very knowledgeable and on top of her papers and information. After the test drive it was kind of a done deal... I was in Lenox with my wife to visit Canyon Ranch when our car battery stopped starting, although it would run if it started. We managed to get the car started without a jump, but clearly either the alternator or the battery needed to be replaced. We asked for recommendations; Wal-Mart seemed to be the consensus choice. As I was driving on Route 7 to Pittsfield I saw Haddad Hyundai and pulled in. I left the car running in the lot as I went in to see if they could take me. They could - right away. The staff were super-friendly and helpful. After about 20 minutes, they told me it was the battery, and that they'd install a new one for $129 installed - lower than the price on their price list. I confirmed that it was a new OEM battery. Less than a half hour later the work was done and I was out the door - with no hassle, and with a sense of assurance that the job was done well. Haddad's service team was excellent and seemed extremely trustworthy. They were great to me even though I'd never been there before and likely never would again. I was told by the manager Hyundai doesn't have trunk mats. He then said he'd check with his parts manager to see what the price would be. We were interested in buying a Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid, but needed to test drive one first before making a final decision. We live in the Albany, NY, area, and have been searching to see one in person at a dealership within 100 miles of our home. Haddad had one on the lot, so we drove to the dealership last month to see and drive it in person. The visit was expertly arranged by Arthur so that any concerns we had that the car would not be there were mitigated. He was understanding and very helpful. Our salesperson, Ian, spent a great deal of time with us both in the showroom and as we each drove the car around for a bit. He was knowledgeable, respectful, and patient answering all our questions without any problem. The manager of the dealership also helped to make this a very positive visit. We ended up ordering the car with the hope we will receive it soon. While this is a different way to buy a car that we are used to, the staff at Haddad made it very easy to get what we needed in order to make a decision. read more

Terrible service department. We purchased a vehicle in September and have had the same issues. When I went to deal with the issue initially I told them what needed to be fixed and all they did with it was reset the Obd system and say the problem was fixed.... it wasn't and it took two hours for them to do that. It took 3 days to get a call back to address the issue. The only positive was the service tech admitted that there is no excuse for not getting back to me. read more

Heard a grinding noise intermittently in the front end of the car. My guess was that the brake pads needed replacing on this 2012 Santa Fe and it was time for an oil change anyway. I'd taken the car to Haddad for oil changes before and was pleased. However, this time I felt that I was being targeted as an old guy who knows nothing about cars. Full disclosure, I used to work in a garage. We left the car the day before with the understanding they would call about the work. The call came at 7:40 AM while I was still in bed. The clerk told me the car needed pads and rotors and tires. The pads and rotors I went for, [it was early and I hardly noticed that the clerk told me the rotors were rusty..it's the Berkshire, the rotors are ALWAYS rusty. The car has about 45000 miles on it so I let it go. The tires were a different story. They were purchased when the car had 25000 miles on it, less than 20000 miles on a set of 18" tires seemed a little much. Told the clerk I would get them elsewhere. Took it to my regular tire place, they will go at least another year. When I picked up the car I was ASTOUNDED by the bill, at least double what the work could have been done for elsewhere. The car also has a GPS system which had not had the maps updated in years, asked them to do that as well. When I picked up the car that was referenced as "Update unavailable". I find that hard to believe. No explanation, no suggestions for what to do. I guess when the maps need updating, one is supposed buy a new car. I have a twelve year old system in my other car which can be updated anytime. I'm not sure, but my guess is they either forgot to do it or just didn't want to. Bottom line, never again. When we are ready to replace the Santa Fe, which we really like, we'll be getting our new car somewhere else, say Bennington. read more
