Beautiful day. Forecast 55 degree, felt like 70. Easy going staff. Reasonably priced almost sure catch.

Great easy going staff. Forecast 55 degree but felt like 70. Probably 50 people fishing on a Sunday but wasnt crowdes. Plenty of parking. 70 minutes from SF. A chance to get away from the city.

Great friendly service! Took my kids for the first time, they helped us with everything! We even caught our first fish! Thank you very much! Will definitely be returning again!

We have been waiting for three years to fish here since COVID started. Only 2 hours from San Jose with 30 degree cooler and super helpful owner l, both my sons had a blast. We caught five fish and a surprise crawfish. We will definitely come back.

We had a blast. I didn't catch a thing but the kid caught 6 and we are having a fish fry tonight. Much more expensive than buying trout, but the experience made it a wonderful day. Nana painted and sketched and we picnicked on site. The dogs played around and I couldn't be more pleased to have spent half a day at this lovely setting.

Decided to take my siblings fishing like when we were still little for my sister's birthday. I (the one with the ponytail) decided that a trout farm would provide the most nostalgic experience and found this place with a little research. Got there with our gear when they first opened, paid the entrance fee, and it was off to the pond! Nice folk working, beautiful weather, and caught 13 decent fish for the grill. All in all, we'll definitely be back with the rest of our family for round 2!!

Took the family here yesterday on a beautiful day in Bodega Bay. It was tons of fun. We all caught fish, brought them home and cooked them up. Delicious! The girl at the front desk (didn't catch her name) was awesome, very kind and very helpful. We will definitely be back!

I don't think there are many fish left in this lake. We stayed from 10:00 to 4:00 with a decent turnout and only saw two people catch fish.

Today was our second visit to this trout farm. We didn't catch any fish and the only fish we did see caught were very small.

No fish. Nobody to help us on my son's birthday. Talked to others with similar experiences lately. Place should close down.

Ask the Community - Hagemann Ranch Trout Farm

Any recommendation for cooking the trout?

Cut off the head and dredged them lightly in flour salt, lemon pepper and powdered garlic. Heated a hot skillet with a good olive oil and cooked 3 minutes a side, until the meat pulls away from the bones. Put slices of lemon in for the last two…

How much does it cost? What is the pricing per fish?

5$ to enter, 7$ per rental fee. Fish vary from 8$- up

In addition to the worm, we also used the orange "power bait" which is a bright orange foamy little ball.

I had flown in from New York, while my wife ended a business trip and flew in from London. By the time we got our rental and made it through San Francisco rush hour, our ride into the mountains was in near total darkness. I've driven on narrow mountain roads with no guardrails before in Arizona, but always in broad daylight. This was terrifying. We got a taste of the remoteness when we had to stop to allow a family of wild pigs cross the road. We knew this was a drive we would remember the rest of our lives, we just hoped that the rest of our lives wasn't in another 10 minutes. All of this, however, was worth it. The East Coast contingent of the wedding party were all up before dawn due to jet lag, and we sipped our coffee and watched the dawn rise over the mountains. This was the first view my wife and I had of the place. It was magical. It was like being transported to 19th century California. I hadn't realized California had places so untouched by population. The bed was comfortable, the accommodations very homey, and the setting magnificent. Easily one of the best places we've stayed in California. Just drive up in the daylight!

My heart aches for how much I already miss this place. I couldn't have picked a better nook of this…read moreworld to wed my love and celebrate with our best friends! This remote corner of Sonoma County is breathtaking, and Anvil Ranch is just perfect. Sam went OUT OF HIS WAY to help us pull off an amazing party. He's such a helpful and cool guy - we repeatedly encouraged him to join us in the festivities because he's that awesome! Shannon is just the sweetest, and she was a big help on Sunday sorting through the rental gear and easing our final hours on the ranch. There is so much to gush about, I'll just need to update this review later with great tips and details, but suffice it to say - we will be back! love!!!
