Came to cut a tree for Christmas this year (from South Bay) in early December. Glad to see a self cutting tree place but the trees were really out of shape. Plenty of parking on the lot, wheel burrows and tools available on site. Figured get here right after Thanksgiving there would be a good selection - not so much, unfortunately. The ones they have pre-cutnare your best options. Wanted to make this an event for the family and actually was not what we expected. Maybe this is an LA thing, idk. On a whim we decided to stop by, in the rain, to see how fresh their pre cut trees were. I was blown away by the beautiful trees, sitting in water, so they were still soft and about as fresh as the trees I used to cut down myself in Canada. We have typically gone to Home Depot for our trees but I will always come back here from now on. The price difference was so minimal and the quality difference was remarkable. We found the most perfect tree with the wonderful help from the tree man who dug through the assortment knowing exactly what we were looking for . A lot of these reviews had me second guessing to go today. I am so glad we choose too. The selection was great and prices affordable, cut down tress not a huge selection but you can't blame them its California and well we've been in a drought for years. We still found a great tree to cut down. The young men/ boys were so kind and helpful. I do not have littles so we did not do the petting zoo but it looked like a hit. We were excited to visit the farm; however, we were disappointed once we arrived. We didn't realize it would be cash or check, and in my quick online search, I didn't notice this. Total waste of time. Cut your own trees were less than shrubs and cost $50. No one would use these as a Xmas tree. They have a very small selection of actual pre cut xmas trees for a ridiculous price: $140 for a 6ft. $5 to ride a pony 1 very small lap and another $5 to pet a few chickens, goats and rabbits. Employees didn't seem interested in being there or to help in the slightest. The "Santa" didn't even have a Santa suit on or a beard. We had to tell our kids this was Santa's helper. We went for a Christmas tree in the tree section and the younger kids working were extremely polite and really knew a lot about the trees. We were greeted by two kids who were eager to help and it was really amazing to see. We told them we wanted a 6-7ft tree and they made that happen. The only thing that made me subtract a star is the pony ride and petting zoo. The people running were not nice to say the least and the animal they were using was clearly sick by the "waste" it was expelling. and after my daughter took the first turn, they girl after her got bucked off into the fence. The girl helping in the petting zoo never got up out of her chair to help people inside the petting zoo, or even got up when the pony was out of control and was in the process of bucking the girl off. I see people have complaint about the lack of trees in years past, but maybe those people didn't realize we are in a drought... the weather affects places like tree farms. My family and I have a tradition of cutting a Christmas tree together every year. We had been going to another farm but unfortunately they don't have trees this year. My father in law found this cute, little family operated business on an advertisement in the paper. 10 mins from Camarillo, just at the entrance of Somis. We got there as soon as they opened and it was the perfect time. No one else ( customers) were there, and the weather was perfect. We were greeted by a young employee who was really pleasant and helpful. My sister said he offered to help with the tree since they don't have a tractor to pick it up. However, they do have wheel barrels, so perfect opportunity to burn that extra turkey and stuffing you had on thanksgiving. Haha. Kids run around playing hide and seek. Santa took photos and selfies, listened to requests for presents and sat in the sleigh for a while. Lots of pine trees to cut and if you prefer firs, they have some ready for you to choose from. They also have a petting zoo and food for sale in the back. Since it was early in the am (9ish) we sat around their pit and sip on some cocoa we brought. Definitely coming back next year. read more

Through Google, we found Hagle Tree Farm, gave them a call and we were well on our way to drive from Santa Monica. This is a family run farm, and I initially spoke to Josh. We were leaving Santa Monica kind of late and we were fighting to get there before sunset. Unfortunately we didn't make it in time but Josh assured they'd wait for us and remain open until about 6:30PM. As soon as we got there, one of the brothers asked us if we were the dedicated Santa Monica dudes haha. We were then given directions as to where the 6-7 Ft trees were in their giant lot, given a saw, wheel barrel and also a flashlight. It was quite fun to find trees in the dark. We managed to find two awesome looking ones, cut them ourselves and brought it back to the cashier for drilling and netting. The group even helped us carry our tree and load it into my truck. It was a great first experience. They even have farm stuff and activities for the kids during the day obviously. We'll be back next year! read more

Went the Saturday after thanksgiving 2019, was really disappointing. There are hardly any cut your own trees, and nothing over 6ft. The tractor rides are not available and the farm animals are really sad looking. A lot of old rust items laying arround their cage. Can see how this place could be cute with a little TLC and cheering up, or might have been more upbeat in years past, but as a first timer I would not go back. Seems to be a bit run down and the photos on the website are miss leading; from a few years back. The wheelbarrows were really dirty and rusty, just saws laying around in a pile. It's a nice little farm! We were surprised to find a place where you can still cut fresh Christmas trees. I give it four out of five because the guy told us it was 6-7ft but when we got home, we realized it was more in the 5 foot range so we felt a bit ripped off for the price we paid. I started coming here over 20 years ago with my son than 5yr. Brought his 3yr. son yesterday and we all had a fantastic time picking our great looking tree. I've been to all the tree farms in the area and I guarantee you that you will not find a larger selection of better looking fuller trees or more knowledgeable and fun peogle as Ethan and his crew truely the best. Too bad. Went there for our Christmas tree and they didn't have any over three feet. The high school employees offered to walk us out to find one because there were a handful in the distance over five feet but the crop was mostly bad. They said they had trouble growing them this year and they'll be huge next year. Really? They only had like 11 months to work on it. How do you run a business that relies on 2-3 weekends a year for sales and not be ready with your product? Others were turning in their saws and wheelbarrows, going home sad faced from not being successful. Hagle should close and say come back next year. Wonder if we should even bother in 2014. read more

This was our family tradition over 20 years ago, as my son and husband would head off to cut our tree. But, , as they sometimes do, our son grew up and moved away. But yesterday, they again 'headed off" to cut down a tree, with our 3 year old grandson in tow. What a special day it was for our third generation men to cut their own tree, and what a wonderful surprise to find the farm still there, run by Etthan, the grandson of the man who first opened the farm. Third generation to third generation. This is the best farm out there , trust me. It had been many years since their last visit, and they weren't sure of the farms exact location. Not what I expected from a tree farm that came highly recommended. The selection for Christmas Twenty Thirteen was poor. Mostly 5 footers and smaller. The 6 foot tree I found had a lot of deformity to the actual tree itself. My choice was either a 6 footer or a 12 footer. Getting help to straighten the trunk out was difficult until the guy actually cutting and wrapping the trees revealed himself to be an employee by putting his apron and gloves back on after 10 minutes of roaming around. I received the best customer service when I returned to purchase firewood. The amount of firewood for the price is the best. There was a healthy supply of firewood on site. There was also a camp fire burning that added the holiday feeling to the place. Hopefully next year will yield taller, healthier trees. read more
