For my most recent, our party ordered various proteins and vegetables, including their Kobe beef belly, fishballs, and mixed tofu assortment. The Kobe beef belly was thinly sliced and tasted good with our own seasoning bowls. The mixed fish balls had a nice bouncy texture, and the variety of tofu in the assortment was enough to satisfy everyone at the table. While the workers are quite busy, they were still helpful with our requests and did their best to accomodate us. read more

Here's my main issue with Haidilao: if you've experienced the restaurant in China, anything less will be disappointing. That's how I feel about the Haidilao locations in the US - there are fewer amenities, and the service isn't quite as attentive. I understand it's impossible for them to operate the same way they do in China. For example, in China, Haidilao offers manicures. Other locations provide shoe cleaning services, and if the manicure line is long, they offer coupons for a future visit. In China, Haidilao is known as the place to go for hot pot and exceptional service. They offer complimentary plum juice in China, but not here. Overall, the experience feels pricier with less value. I've found that servers seem overworked here, and the personalized service isn't as attentive as in China. That being said, this Century City location is the best Haidilao experience I've had in the US so far. It's only the second one I've been to, and the difference between this location and the City of Industry one is night and day. We visited the City of Industry location during a busy holiday weekend for a birthday celebration, which is important to note as we dined at the Century City location on a weekday lunch, shortly after opening. We made a reservation through Yelp, which was very convenient, although it wasn't strictly necessary. The service was good, likely because it wasn't busy. I was a bit disappointed that some of the lunch specials were no longer available, as it seems we just missed them. I noticed they are still advertised on their Yelp page, and I suggest they update it to avoid misleading other diners. Just a friendly suggestion! They didn't have the mooncake plushie I wanted, which is understandable since it wasn't the right season. However, I asked for a plushie, and they gave us a super cute pumpkin one. We also asked for a toy for my son, and they were very accommodating in finding something suitable. The service was much better here than at the other location we visited - they were accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The noodle show was very entertaining! The performer had great showmanship, and he even checked with us about how thick or thin we wanted the noodles and which broth to use. Big ups to him! I'm concerned that free gifts are offered in exchange for reviews. I didn't participate, as I had already requested a plushie and received one. I suspect this practice contributes to the high Yelp scores. I'm giving this a 4/5 rating because my previous experience at the City of Industry location was a 3/5, and this location was clearly better. However, I would say it's closer to a 3.5/5 in my personal opinion. I'm definitely open to returning to this location or other Haidilao restaurants in the future to see how they compare. read more

On the hunt for the best and this spot is up there. Perfect place to celebrate birthdays. You can order a ribbon dance with a worker who comes to the table dancing with a ribbon. They can also sing happy birthday for you. There is a make ur own sauce bar with honeydew melon that I got for dessert. Service is amazing! Our waiters were so friendly. I forgot his name but the waiter that said he was from Pennsylvania made it even better with how awesome and attentive he was. Out of all the broths the miso was my absolute fav. Meat was fresh. This is the best Haidilao. They have the best staff- every server I've had has been excellent. Most importantly- they have the best noodle dancing staff. The staff there actually engages with the customers and makes it a whole experience with the noodles. I've been to other locations where you do not get the same service. I've actually never gotten the Dancing noodles for myself- but have seen them while dining. I've even caught a birthday celebration and they treated the little boy with a great celebration. Haidilao has always maintained a standard when it comes to its food and quality, and thankfully that was still consistent during this visit. Unfortunately, the service at this location was far from impressive. If customers are unfamiliar with how the line for the sauce station works, there should be a staff member there to help manage it. I was patiently waiting my turn when our server, Evelyn, walked over and squeezed herself into the sauce station ahead of everyone without acknowledging those who were waiting. Our experience with Evelyn only got worse from there. We were placing our order on the iPad, and I asked if she could help remove an item I had added by mistake. Instead of simply assisting, she snatched the iPad out of my hand and walked away without saying a word. Throughout the entire meal, she came to our table only twice to drop off food. She never checked on us or asked if everything was okay. The only things she said were, "Here's your beef," and, "Here's your toy." When we finished eating, she looked directly at me and said, "ALL SET?!" in a tone that made it feel like she wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. The food lived up to Haidilao's reputation, but the level of hospitality did not. Seems like a visit to Haidilao is more for the entertaining hot pot experience rather than the food itself. My partner and I were able to make a reservation ahead of time, so we didn't have to wait in the long line when we got there. We were seated fairly quickly. At the table, there was one pot in the center for us to share. Up to 4 different broths can be put into the same pot with dividers to separate each broth. We decided on the tomato soup base, which was rich and savory, as well as the miso soup base, which was light and refreshing. Both broths are great hot pot broths. We ordered a mix of various proteins, fish balls, and veggies. They were all decent, particularly the thinly sliced beef. I do wish each portion was bigger though. The price of each item added up quickly and this meal ended up being even more expensive than an AYCE hot pot restaurant would be. Something you MUST get from here is the dancing hand pulled noodle. A person will dance with the noodle at your table while playing music on a portable speaker. It was a pretty cool little show to watch. We were quite impressed. Definitely check out the sauce bar - it has a wide variety of sauces, herbs, and aromatics for you to create your own perfect dipping sauce. Included in this self-serve bar, there are snacks, fruits, dessert, and a few appetizers you can grab yourself. Always heard of Haidilao but never been. I was pretty astonished with how big this spot is. Located on the second level of Westfield Century City, its hard to miss this restaurant as their logo glows in the bright night. For anyone that's been to Westfield Century City, parking here is practically a maze. You'll find a spot eventually but during peak hours and holiday season especially, it can be even trickier. Parking here is also paid, some stores offer validation so look out for that for a discounted parking fee. Staff here is quite friendly and welcoming. Made sure that everything was explained for first time diners and often checking tables upon tables. My wife and I both love hot pot, not really on the spicy side so we decided on tomato and miso broths. It's not AYCE so your bill can rack up pretty quickly, portions are moderate sizing for most meats, perfect to share between one other person I'd say. With that said, we got a assortment of meats, fishballs, and vegetables. Presentation is pretty standard here but the vibe was great overall. Taste of all the meats were just like other hot pot places that you'll find elsewhere. Although the experience and vibe here is a lot better in terms of how the table is set and how clean it is. Of course, we had to get the dancing noodle showcase and my goodness it was impressive. For a minute show, the dancing noodle is such a experience to fathom. My wife and I were very impressed with the choice of music, dance moves, and just the show overall. At the end of the show, you can choose between thick or thin noodles which is a nice touch. Tasting the noodle itself after putting it in the broths was spectacular. Love the texture and taste, or maybe I was just that impressed with the dance performance. There are many snack bars throughout the restaurant with plenty of snacks, chips, candy, gummies, ice cream, and just a plentiful of edible dishes to choose from. Finally got to try out Haidilao for my lunch break. You can tell this place is very service oriented. From the time you walk in you are greeted. They will help you order your food and tell you about the specials. My servers also made sure I had everything I needed including; hair tie, cell phone holder so I could watch Youtube, a plastic bag to protect my cell phone from hot pot splash, napkins, and even made me a dipper sauce to try. I had two of the broths, tom yon and the spicy beef tallow. Great combo. The meat on special did the trick but I would probably opt for a better quality next time. The vegetable and noodle add ons come with plenty. It is loud in there as people are celebrating special occasions which the restaurant makes a part of their service. The hostess was friendly and let us know we could scan a QR code to place our order ahead of time so the food would be ready once we were seated, which was definitely convenient. The restaurant itself is very clean and gives off a high end vibe. However, it's not AYCE, and everything is priced per dish. What really threw me off was the $3.99 per person charge just to use the seasoning bar, which felt excessive. Sodas were $2.99 each with no refills, and service was okay at best. the server checked on us twice after dropping off the food, but for the price point, I expected more attentiveness. That said, the Kobe beef was really good and definitely the highlight of the meal. For three people, four orders were more than enough when paired with veggies, noodles, mushrooms, and tripe (which was surprisingly good). The broth, however, was just okay..nothing memorable. Overall, aside from the Kobe beef, the food didn't do anything extraordinary, and the experience felt way too overpriced for what you get. Despite the modernizations of the ordering process, the human servers are extremely accommodating and fast. It was my first time and my waitress thoroughly described everything to me. All the food is of the highest quality and there is a great variety of broths and sauces. My favorite broths were the sukiyaki and spicy ones. However don't sleep on the tomato broth or chicken/fish bone. The restaurant is modern and what I imagine China to be like lol. The only caveat is how expensive this place is. Standouts include the short rib, sweet potato, vermicelli, and daikon. Of course, get the dancing noodles! One thing to note is the service was fantastic. Our server was so nice and friendly. He saw we had a toddler who wasn't eating as much, and he brought over some kids meal which was extremely appreciated. Now vibes are chaotic, as any hot pot place is, but great time was had. Welcome to Haidilao, founded 1994 in Sichuan, China with locations all across the world, including 1,300 in just China alone! The front room offers free tea, snacks and goodies for kids to play with in case you need to wait for your table to open up. Upon entering the dining area, you'll need to go up some stairs, so if you have a baby stroller, be aware that you'll need to fold it and leave it next to the host at the front door. The tables are very large, seating at least 6 people comfortably, with room for more, if needed. You order on an iPad, where you can choose your 4 different broths for your hotpot, along with the your assortments of dipping food, regular food, and drinks. While you wait, you can also grab some delicious appetizers and soups at the snack bar, located near the center of the restaurant. The food is delicious, serving up both traditional hotpot flavors as well as unique and trendy tastes. No matter what you and your guests like, there's something for everybody. Of course, the main thing Haidilao is known for is their Noodle Dance, which you'll get if you order their special dancing noodles off the menu. We ordered the dancing noodles, but also a lot of other food, so I think our waiter actually forgot to get somebody to do the dance for us. We asked him if we get a dance, and he rushed to the back, and a man in all red ran out carrying a long noodle in one hand, and a boombox in the other. "What is Love" by Haddaway blasted out of the speaker while the man made the noodles move and dance on their own like he was Geppetto to Pinocchio. Twirling, shaking, shimmying, twerking. These noodles were scandalous! And with a *plop* the dance was done and the noodles were in the broth. The show was over, but the memories would forever live on.
