We came back today because we wanted to show our child this place, and Jordan was great! He checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect and provided excellent service. I've seen reviews in which people aren't happy with service, in our case it was beyond good both occasions. The food is always fresh, and the quality of the meat is exquisite. I went here with my husband and our six year-old (half off!). We all have very different tastes but we all got what we wanted. I came here twice during their 10th anniversary event, including Tuesday night in the Valley with my mom and family. The wagyu meat itself was good, and considering the anniversary pricing, it felt reasonable. However, the side dish corner (bulgogi, japchae, tangsuyuk, tteokbokki, etc.) was a complete disappointment. Everything was dry, hard, and looked like it had been sitting out forever. The tteokbokki especially looked dried out and unappetizing. This was the section I was most looking forward to, but instead it was embarrassing--especially since I had my mom and family with me, and there were many foreign guests around watching the sad state of the food. They said items were being remade, but with only one person working, nothing was really replenished. My mom didn't even touch the side dishes and said this visit was enough for her. Yes, they do offer rice paper (though no glass noodles), and a kids' dinner price of $21 for ages 8-10. That part was nice for us since we have two kids--at other places we usually have to pay full adult price for them. Parking is validated for 3 hours at $1.99, which is convenient. Overall, the wagyu quality and anniversary pricing were good, and the kids' pricing made it family-friendly. But the side dish bar was very disappointing. With the seasonings I added, I was able to enjoy this broth a little more. The Sukiyaki broth was tasty both times. For dinner, that was around $42 per person. I loved this all you can eat experience. They made it so easy to order, since you order your meats through a website on your phone; super innovative!! The wagyu selection of meats were all so delicious and extremely tender. Good selection of soups too. I liked that they had some hot foods as part of the buffet offerings, but honestly they were mostly cold and somewhat stale. Still, that didn't take away from the entire experience. My family and I went here on New Year's Day and there were no signage stating that holidays would be priced differently. They only noted it on their instagram but there was absolutely nothing in person. Of course, we weren't aware of holiday pricing and weren't made aware before we started to eat. When the bill came we were shocked to see we were billed much more than expected. Only then did they notify us that they charge dinner pricing on holidays. I attached photos of all their in person signs, where the lunch price clearly excludes ONLY saturdays and sundays, not holidays. Good food, shockingly bad service. I live in Koreatown, and sometimes after a long day of work I just want some good hotpot close to home without having to travel far. Bon Shabu is our closest option, and honestly the food itself isn't bad. The sauces are great and the hotpot can actually be really enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service completely ruins the experience. Feels like I'm being serviced at the DMV. On our last visit, we were seated and then ignored. No one came to ask for our broths or take our order for quite a while. When I politely asked a server if we could order, he let out a deep sigh, rolled his eyes, and told me to "hold on." He then immediately turned back around and asked us to order but made zero eye contact. The moment we said our broth choices, he sped off without acknowledging us at all, like we had somehow annoyed him just by asking. To make things worse, the table was set with almost nothing. We were given only a bowl and spoon--no chopsticks, no ladle, nothing we could actually use to cook or eat our hotpot with. We had to hunt someone down just to get basic utensils. The restaurant also wasn't busy, which made the whole situation even more confusing. Most of the experience is self-serve anyway, but the servers are usually nowhere to be found. You basically have to catch them while they're speed-walking past to drop something off at another table. At one point we asked for a Coke and the server rushed past, slammed it on the table, and walked away without even looking at us--almost like he didn't want to risk us asking for anything else. The service honestly feels like DMV-level customer service--cold, dismissive, and like you're bothering them just by existing. What's frustrating is that this isn't just a one-time experience or one rude server. It has been like this every single time we've gone, and each time it's a different person with the same attitude. It's honestly a shame because the food itself is good. But when every interaction feels like you're inconveniencing the staff just by being there, it's hard to justify coming back. If they could just fix their attitude, this place would probably have a lot more customers and more business. read more

The ambience is very nice, it's very clean, which I really appreciate as a lot of hot pot places can be hit or miss when it comes to cleanliness. We came in, and we dined and dashed. As in, I think we were in and out in 30 minutes. For that, I would say the level of service was pretty respectable to be able to handle our party of five in 30 minutes. I want to be very clear that we were in and out in 30 minutes because we showed up late, and had to leave on time in order to make it to a concert. They were so nice about it the entire time. And we were very apologetic. They were very nice to us as we were switching out soups and everything as well. The quality of the food seemed pretty good as well as the quality of the meats. If we had more time, I think we would've thoroughly enjoyed our time here. So I would try to come here again if I can. The only reason that I took off one star, is that our server seemed to not be knowledgeable for the first timer person at our table. The real kicker was that the stove for the hot pots did not reach temperature like they should have. I felt like we were left playing around with the temperatures to make sure that the food cooked, and that the soup didn't boil over. We are a group that goes to hot pot pretty often so it was just obvious that the burners weren't set appropriately or needed a maintenance check.
