We had heard that Happy AYCE had reopened, so we decided to check it out. Walking into the restaurant around 3:10pm, there was 1 party there. After they left, we were the only party there. It wasn't as busy as it used to be to be. After looking at their menu online, we saw that the lunch price ended at 3:30pm, so we got there before that time. When we were there, we were handed a new menu where lunch is from 11:00-3:00pm and dinner from 4:00-11:00pm. We were asked to pay the dinner price, The waiter just said his manager told him to tell everyone that, but the menu doesn't state the price between 3:00-4:00pm. The online menu also needs to be updated. As for the food, the hot food selection has gone downhill. Not as much variety as before. Mostly fried foods, not as much greens as before. The dessert selection was only oranges and a jello dessert. The meat was sliced super thin, so it wasn't chewy. I would say the service was just ok. One waiter was catering to us, but he was also busy doing other things in the kitchen. Would I come back here again, probably not. Not the first time but very satisfied for our most recent visit here. It's been a while since we last ate here and we had family dinner as a party of 10, so we were given a private room with 3 hot pots. We had beef, lamb, and pork slices for hotpot which we ordered 5 each per order. We had two pots original and one spicy. The meat slices were very thin so cooking time wasn't long and we paired it with various sauces, so if you make a good sauce it'll be even better. The buffet selection definitely changed, there's more hot foods and they no longer have mini sausages. I do enjoy their char siu and their varieties. Staff were pretty attentive with making sure our tables are cleared and if we need more meat. Since we were in a private room, they still came by to check on us. Overall, I did enjoy this place and would come again! I think not everyone liked how thin the meat was sliced but I'm fine with it. Ice creams costs money as well. read more

I use the app To Good To Go, and today I reserved a lunch at this new-to-me restaurant. I went to pick up the food, and the parking was very easy - it was lunch time and I found easy street parking right in front. I walked in and the ambiance is fun. When you get food through the app you don't choose what you order. It's always a surprise. They gave me enough food for 3 meals, all of it DELICIOUS! I got egg rolls, fried rice, the house special bbq pork, & Sichuan eggplant. The food is DELICIOUS. I am definitely going back for hot pot. read more

We got the spicy bone marrow and the black truffle mushroom broth. Both were pretty tasty. We stuck with the beef, lamb, and pork for meats. I was pretty satisfied with the quality. Pair this with the selection of veggies (spinach, watercress, bok choy) and I'd say it's all you need. Since it was my first time, I did have to try the Chinese buffet trays. Most of the items are just okay, but the chicken wings, although a bit oily, was super juicy inside. I could do without it next time though. They did have seafood but I'm pretty skeptical of seafood in these situations so I decided to skip it. We also decided to try the dimsum but as everyone else says, it's only 3 items. They said it'll take 20 mins but after like 40 mins we realized they forgot our order. We reordered it and it came out in 15 min but it was just so-so. The extra wait made it feel worse. All in all, if you just come for the hotpot, it's solid. Don't expect much from the extras and you'll have a good time. read more

What happened here? The food quality is way down and prices are up considerably. Happy AYCE used to be one of my go-to places for great value hot pot, but I can't recommend it anymore following my previous visit. It doesn't help that they were shut down by the health inspector due to a cockroach infestation in December. We got inside and nobody was at the front. We waited for 10 minutes and had to go inside to get someone to get us seated. At least our server was nice and understood our frustrations. She genuinely seemed like she was trying her best despite the restaurant being busy and understaffed. It was difficult to get a server to take our orders for more meat and the food came out slowly. Also, the plates were dirty we had to ask for replacements multiple times. Seems like they haven't improved on their cleanliness. The self serve bar is a shadow of what it used to be. They removed many food options and replaced them with ramen noodles. Veggie options were also replaced with cheaper alternatives like lettuce and spinach. The soda machine was out of a few sodas at one point and I'm not sure if or when it was refilled. Happy AYCE Hot Pot has become Sad AYCE Hot Pot now. Cleanliness is definitely a recurring issue and I don't trust that they've made the steps to fix it. Given the increase in pricing and a decrease in quality, look elsewhere for hot pot. $130 for a party of 3 on Sunday afternoon. Be careful if you come here :( read more

When I came here for the first time a while back near the grand opening, everything was wonderful. This time, I had the most horrifying dining experience. The meats were so old- extremely chewy and dried down to the plate which they were served on- and the vegetables were all wilted. We just left while the health inspector was checking the food, and it was apparent that things weren't going well judging from the looks on everyone's faces. We even overheard a table (who seemed to be bosses or business friends) dining alone on the left side of the restaurant speaking to employees in cantonese, instructing them to move all the bad vegetables onto their table so that the health inspector wouldn't see it. That's CRAZY. If this place closes again soon, we know why. Aside from that, I felt so bad for the severely understaffed servers who seemed extremely overwhelmed. It took a long time to get their attention, but I don't blame them for this. If you scroll to the bottom of the yelp, you'll see that most of the 1 star reviews were filtered out somehow. This is actually a good deal! For lunch, you have access to their hot pot salad bar (including seafood). They also have a small buffet of sides like (egg rolls, steamed buns, noodles, etc.) and it comes with a drink and everything is AYCE!!! We opted for their first hot pot lunch selection, ($23.99/person). That included everything I mentioned above. I forgot to mention they have packages of instant ramen noodles you can add into your hot pot with their seasoning and it's all included. I was delightfully surprised at the selection of ramen noodles, vegetables, seafood and tofu. Everything was fresh and the veggies were still wet from being washed. They have plenty of tables with burners set for your hot pot. And you can wear their signature orange bib so you won't get any of the hot pot splashed on you. Will definitely come back. read more

Went Sunday late afternoon, wanted to try their Chinese buffet and ayce dim sum. Parking is tight but there is a public library right by there where there seems to a lot of parking. The restaurant is a decent size with a small private room for private parties. The restroom was decent clean, they do have a B health rating at the moment as of 7/5/26 if that matters to you. Now the hot food buffet section was not a huge section food was a hit and miss, the bbq pork if it comes out fresh was really good, as well as the cucumber smashed salad. The did have salt and pepper shrimp on a skewer, not bad tasting but if it was double fried and bit more crispy would have been better. The pork fried dumplings were ok. The rest of the stuff was meh. The video on post will show you the buffet section. Soft drinks are included in the buffet price. The plates weren't all that clean for the buffet that was an and miss and they were still wet. I also paid $5 extra for the all you can eat dip sum which was basically the worst thing. First it takes 20 min for the order to come out and your expecting fresh made dim sum. Not the case, I feel like it takes that long so you'd fill up on the buffet before it arrives. It was the most pathetic dim sum I ever had, the other reviewer were right on when they said it was horrible. First the selection is very small. The shrimp har gow filling a shrimp paste filling. The soup dumpling was dry as it can be. The shu Mai was decent not great. All the dim sum felt like left over reheated that they didn't sell the night before, really bad worse then frozen stuff. If you plan to go avoid it like the plague. The so call black sesame custard bun, was just standard white bun with grainy cream yolk. False menu item. Overall the food was 2-3 stars, after tax and tip on a Sunday afternoon I paid about $38 per person. Totally not worth it for me. I wasn't in the mood for the hot pot and to me the selection wasn't all that from looking at the hotpot section. If you like mediocre Chinese food with the worse dim sum if you can call it that go for it. They definitely use msg in their food, I was extremely thirsty after the meal. I'm deeply disappointed with the decline in cleanliness and overall quality of this establishment over the years. What was once a delightful place to visit has steadily deteriorated, and my recent visit was the final straw. As someone who has worked in food service, I understand the significance of proper sanitation and food safety practices. What I witnessed was truly disturbing. Employees were wearing the same pair of gloves while performing various unrelated tasks without changing them. I observed staff handling dirty items, picking up debris from the floor, pushing dirty carts, touching shared surfaces, using their phones, and even making physical contact with one another all the while continuing to wear the same gloves when handling customer items. Gloves are designed to prevent contamination, not spread it. Wearing the same contaminated gloves throughout an entire shift defeats their purpose and creates serious cross-contamination. There seemed to be a complete lack of awareness of basic food safety standards. The dining area was equally disappointing. The menus were visibly greasy and oily, as if they hadn't been cleaned in ages. During slower periods, most restaurants take the opportunity to wipe down menus, sanitize surfaces, and maintain cleanliness throughout the establishment. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. The salad bar was in a state of disarray. Ingredients were scattered, vegetables were mixed into the wrong containers, and food was spilling over the sides. The entire area looked neglected and unorganized. Instead of appearing fresh and inviting, it looked messy and unsanitary. To add insult to injury, much of the dishware appeared dirty. Plates, bowls, and utensils had oily residue and didn't look properly cleaned before being put back into service. There's nothing more unsettling than wondering whether the dishes you're eating from are actually clean. Dining out should be a pleasant experience, but this establishment fell short on multiple fronts. The lack of sanitation practices, visible cross-contamination, dirty menus, messy food stations, and unclean dishware left me feeling disgusted rather than satisfied. We placed a online reservation 3 hours before. The place opened at 11 and only a few people already seated. Place looked alright if you don't focus too hard on the off putting parts like extension cords all over and the bright lights in the ceiling. We went for the unlimited dim sum. Even the chili oil -- usually the hero when all else fails -- couldn't save it, since the oil had the same lingering fried scent you'd find on their french fries and fritters from the buffet. The meats were another letdown -- they tasted gamey (especially on the fats), and even the lamb wasn't lean. The dim sum buffet, though only an extra $5, didn't add much value either. The tofu skin had a weird leathery, paper-like texture, the chocolate fountain was overly sweet, the soybean milk was also pungent, and even the soda station are Pepsi instead of Coke. Overall, while the price and service are good, the flavors just didn't work for me--and this is rare, since I've tried ALL hotpots around , I can always find at least one thing to enjoy even at my least favorite place. Since we drove all the way there, we decided to stay and try the basic tier A hot pot. My daughter and I did the half-half soup base since she likes her spicy. As we went to pick out our food for our hot pot, we learned that the hot food bar was included! SCORE! There was so much to choose from: chicken wings (was crispy), fries, fried wontons, fried rice, etc (view video) I made sure not to fill up on all this though The hot pot bar may not be fancy compared to the more pricey hot pot places, but it had my favorites and essentials. The choices for noodles was awesome, udon, ramen, and vermicelli. The sauce bar was great! They had more choices than other places. There were also some dessert choices. Had dinner here a while back, and while the value and food was ok, the experience left a lot to be desired in terms of hygiene! We ordered several beef and pork plates for our meat, and the portions were small with ok quality. (it is AYCE though, so you could just order more plates) They also have a cooked food and sauce bar, but everything was kind of mixed together when I looked. It can also be hard to get around in the space since it is small for the amount of tables they have. What really bothered me was that most of our dishes were being put on our windowsill, and it had a thick, visible layer of dust. Every time the dishes were picked up by our server, chunks of that dust would fly onto our table, into the dishes, and near our pot. Service was quick and parking was difficult, but I can't really get over the dust thing, which did really ruin the experience for me. I tried the regular bone marrow and spicy bone marrow. The spicy one is very oily! The meat cuts are fatty and I would have liked a leaner beef option. The lamb was alright, not too fatty. There is a self serve station for fish, quail eggs, veggies, ear wood mushroom, taro, tofu, etc. I was surprised that they did not carry fish balls and a variety of mushrooms that are very typical at other hot pot places. They have a meal limit of 90 minutes and it comes with a fountain drink. Their water needs better filtering. Customer service was lacking and there are flies circling the self-serve station. Everyone receives a bib and they measure your kid's height for charging purposes There was an entire station of fried food and Chinese food, such as fried rice, noodles, tofu, eggplant, and other stir fry, oily dishes. We got there on a weekend that says dim sum is available "whole day" NO DIM SUM. NOT EVEN ALA CARTE. No fondue like the ones they advertise on social media. I dont usually fall for those but my sister was so convinced it will be good. Whatever you see online raving about this place is extremely deceptive. It's literally fraudulent advertising. We were told they dont do that anymore. Then dont even have dim sum. Their meat are CHEAP. The selection at the buffet is literally underwhelming. Only 3 cooked meats. For hotpot, they had 2 Kinds of fish balls, and then diff types of leaves. For $30 each person, we can get quality food around our area. NOTHING SPECIAL AT THIS RESTO. It's typical buffet that look like they serve left overs from the previous day. We literally felt we got scammed. It's appaling. The staff were even annoyed we asked them why it isnt available. All you can eat hot pot for such a good price (especially if you come in for lunch!) I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation ahead of time! It saves a lot of time and you'll be seated quite promptly! They have a variety of meats to choose from, even if you are just ordering the Classic AYCE meal ($24.95 per person before tax). I like to get the pork belly and brisket! They also have a buffet area where you can get hot foods as well as other raw items to cook in your hot pot. Some of these items include: noodles, squid, shrimp, meatballs, vegetables, fried rice, fries, chicken wings, BBQ pork, buns, chow mein, shrimp chips, and many more!! They also have desserts and a sauce bar, too! Cons Listed Below: The spicy soup was SO BLAND. But I honestly can't even complain because it's one of those places where you just simply get what you pay for. The buffet section doesn't feel very clean. I noticed a lot of the plates and sauce bowls were not properly washed and still had leftover food residue. In addition, I saw a customer drop one of the tongs on the floor and just picked it back up to place on the plate... As a germaphobe, this was a horrifying scene to me. I quickly notified the staff to change it, but I think it would be helpful to have someone occasionally monitor that area. The service and meat delivery was so SLOW. It's so difficult to flag down a waiter/waitress, especially during their busy hours. The "Call for Help" buttons on the tables don't work either... pretty sure it was just placed there for a placebo effect. Parking is inconvenient as their lot is very small. You'll have to either find street parking or park at the public library across the street. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back again because you truly do get a bang for your buck! read more

Came to Happy AYCE Hot Pot for hot pot... but the biggest surprise was finding Musang King D197 durian here As a durian lover, I know how hard it is to find real quality D197 in the U.S. This one was seriously impressive -- rich, creamy, sweet with that slight bittersweet finish that real Musang King fans love. One bite and the flavor just explodes. Did not expect an AYCE hot pot restaurant to secretly have "the Hermes of durian" hidden here Honestly one of the best surprises I've had in a long time. Besides the durian, the food here is still as fresh as always. The meat, seafood, and hot bar items were all great quality, and the staff were super nice and welcoming even during busy hours.
