Famously known as Nabezo in Japan, Momo Paradise in Torrance is an awesome place for Japanese style AYCE hot pot. Meats are nice, you can get unlimited milk tea, and they finish off your meal with ice cream. What's not to like? They now have the new option for Wagyu meats for ~$55. I suppose this is to compete with the high-end hot pot places that are on trend. I usually go with the regular "Momo menu" with their standard meats for $38 for dinner. Access to their fountain drinks and milk tea is now an additional $3. Hot green tea was complimentary/included in the price. I'm okay with passing on the premium wagyu meats because, though wagyu is delicious, it's also very rich. After a few rounds, wagyu starts to weigh on you. On the regular menu, I usually stay away from the lean meats and stick to their short rib and pork belly. The marbling on these meats is nice. My wife and I like to have tonkatsu and sukiyaki broths. I appreciate that their vegetables are also AYCE. Their japanese curry is also a hidden gem that I can't skip here. I tend to go to this location in Torrance, but they also have locations in Arcadia and Irvine. Overall, I think that the experience at Momo paradise is great and worthwhile. Lastly, if you are coming here, definitely make reservations ahead of time on yelp or opentable - wait times can otherwise be difficult/impossible.

Mo-Mo Paradise is my go-to spot for a reliable Japanese-style all-you-can-eat hotpot in the South Bay area. Bottomline: soup is so-so, condiments and meat are above-average, and the vegetables are good. The meal is limited to 90 minutes, which has been enough time in my experience. I've eaten here seven times, and the quality has been fairly consistent across visits. The self-serve station is generally clean, well-stocked, and regularly refilled. During busy weekends it can get a little messy, but I've never found it unhygienic. The staff are attentive enough and are usually quick to clear empty plates or bring additional meat. Since my rating is mainly based on the food, that's what I'll focus on. There are four soup bases to choose from: Shoyu, Tonkotsu, Sukiyaki, and Tomato. They all appear to be pre-mixed. So they are okay. Shoyu is my favorite. It's balanced and clean, making it the most forgiving as the broth becomes more concentrated over the course of the meal. Tomato is light and fairly balanced, although the tomato flavor comes across as a bit artificial. Tonkotsu is acceptable, but it's saltier than I'd like and doesn't have much pork flavor. Sukiyaki is the worst. It's too concentrated at the start of the meal, can you imagine how overpowering this gets by the end of the meal? The meat quality is solid for an AYCE restaurant, although the meat selection is limited to 5 choices.. The beef short plate and pork belly are the best choices if you prefer richer, more marbled cuts. The leaner options are decent, but they aren't as tender or flavorful. The sauce bar has a good selection of ingredients, making it easy to put together a dipping sauce that suits your taste. The vegetable station offers a good variety of fresh vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, noodles, and other hotpot staples. The selection is consistently replenished, and I haven't had issues with freshness. Overall, Mo-Mo Paradise isn't the most memorable hotpot restaurant, but it's a dependable choice when I'm looking for Japanese-style AYCE. The ingredients are generally fresh, the meat quality is good.

Quality of meat and veggies are supberb. I have been dining in this locations for years and yesterday it's still exceptional. You can order up to 10 plates per order. The service is fast and quick. Inside is clean. The buffet section is kept tidy and have all the veggies you need for hotpot. They have amazing sauces and the fountain drinks. You can also supplement curry if you are still hungry. The place gets busy on the weekend so make sure you make a reservation ahead of time!

Got the MOMO Experience with the SHABU SHABU broth. Everything was delicious. Good quality beef. The self serve items were fresh. The curry was tasty with a little bit of sweetness. Service was very friendly and extremely prompt. No issues with parking. A special thank you to our server, Ily, for the great service. According to Ily, the most popular broths are SUKIYAKI and TONKATSU.

I usually don't do AYCE places, but for Momo Paradise I make an exception! I love being able to cook your meat perfectly with lots of variety of meats and side options. The place is clean for an AYCE, although the floor can sometimes be a bit slippery. The curry rice is great, and the service from our waitress Vicky was excellent. I tried the tomato base, and it just gave it a little tomato tangyness.

Absolutely love this place. I tried the wagyu experience that includes all meats on the menu and access to the drink garden and farmers market, plus ice cream for dessert. Our adviser, Alex, was so helpful and brought out their special sauces that defining elevated our experience. He explained each beef profile and the broths in detail and walked us through the best way to eat. I was skeptical at first how much different the wagyu versus non-wagyu meats are so we tried the wagyu round versus the eye of round to compare an we can immediately taste the difference. The wagyu melts in your mouth, there's a stronger umami flavor, and overall sticks to your tastebuds much stronger than the non-wagyu beef. Both delicious but I did find the wagyu beef a lot more memorable and much easier to chew. The service here was fantastic and shoutout Alex again for pointing out the happy hour specials. We enjoyed $2 house sake which is unheard of! I love the ambiance in here because you can come as you are but still feels elevated and comfortable. Highly recommend to come with a friend or group and enjoy the experience together.

We come here a lot! For an all you can eat place, they have a good amount of variety of choices from veggies to other hot pot ingredients. Just wish they would bring back the kimchi broth back! Service is good and ambiance is a normal setting. Wish it was a big cleaner overall... Lunch is a better deal than dinner but not much. But it is all you can eat! Someone like me who doesn't eat much wish the price as lower... you feel to get your money's worth you have to eat a lot! (I personally do not like to over eat and you can take home leftovers... wish they allow you to take home what you do not eat!) this is my only complaint, wish they allow you to take home what you do not eat, what a waste! But you know there will always be someone who will try to beat the system and add tone of "extra" leftovers and I do see why the establishment doesn't do this or they would be out of biz!

The food is always great at MoMo. We made reservations to ensure we got a seat on midday on Saturday. The staff were super kind and always attentive. They were never far away when we needed to ask them something. The drink bar and salad bar are also great because you can easily grab whatever inclusions for your shabu you want. I recommend the bok choy and the savory stuffed fish balls. The one issue we had was the ambience. There was a party eating toward the back of the restaurant. They had three children, probably ages 8, 6, and 3. The children were running around the restaurant playing tag (screaming and running) while the oldest child had her iPad at full volume in the quiet restaurant. The staff had to tell the children and parents (who did not care that their children were running amuck) to stop running in the restaurant. The youngest child wasn't even wearing shoes or socks. The waitstaff had to dodge these running kids while carrying bowls of hot soup and trays of raw meat. Obviously, this is not something I can fault MoMo for, but I wish they were stronger in their policy of making sure children are under control so other patrons can enjoy their meal. It's the fault of the parents who allow their children to behave in such a manner in a restaurant.

Came here about a month ago and ate so much delicious food for only $38.95 (dinner price). I came with family and didn't know they have two different time schedules on the weekdays for lunch and dinner. The lunch time is from 11am-2pm and the dinner is from 4:30pm-9pm. The good thing about that was we got to be the first group in the restaurant, with no lines. You get to pick your choice of broth and meats to dunk from the waiter/waitress and it is brought to you. Noodles and vegetables that you can put in the broth are items at a buffet counter that you go get yourself. I will definitely be coming back to this place.

Good quality food. A bit disappointed by the minimal selection for lunch vs. dinner menus. The service was not awful but not great either. I felt like I constantly had to ask for the server instead of the server coming in to check on us. All in all food is good aside from the lack of selection, service could have been better.

1st time coming here and having something like this. I am very picky with foods and i liked it. I only mostly had noodles and meats with a side of rice. Service was good. Chill place we had reservations so no wait time. They do "kick you out" lol. Lots of parking bc its inside a plaza.

During Covid MoMo's was the only place we'd venture to get take out. Now they have come out with rice bowls and they are amazing! Their staff is always friendly and helpful. We tried the Sukiyaki Beef bowl

    Noba N.

An hour and a half of unlimited meat. They give you 4 options for broth. Sukiyaki, original, tonkotsu, tomato based. You are allowed up to 2 flavors in 1 pot you share with your buddy. I got the original and the tonkotsu. They have a full buffet of condiments plus tea flavors of the month. They seem to rotate it. When I went, they had hojicha cocoa. They also have momo paradise exlusive soda, which was the momo peach and tokyo melon. They also offer boba/coffee jelly to go with your drink. I think the server is a hit or miss. My server was friendly but barely present. When she served us she was super kind. But it took forever to get our goma and ponzu sauce in the beginning. I had to hunt down a different server twice because we didn't know where to get it. She kind of gave me attitude. She told me to wait. We waited another 6 minutes and still got nothing. I hunted her down again and she rolled her eyes saying she'll bring it over. Ended up sending someone else later to get it. Maybe she was over it and was at the tail end of her shift... only god knows. The meat refills came pretty quick when our actual server came around. Besides the passive aggressive waitress, I think it was all in all a good experience.

Are gift cards available for this location?

Do they do sukiyaki with the raw egg yolk on the side as well?

    Yes,they do.

Is it good for a party of 5?

Yes, they can accommodate party of 5. Make sure you make reservation

Are you able to eat here alone?

    yes

Do you get to cook the food?

You order meats and pick up your own veggies from the bar. Then you get to cook them in whichever broth you've chosen at your table!

Are there tables long enough to sit 8 people together?

For sure! I've been there with a party as big as 9.

For a party of 7, how many pots will we get?

Probably 2 split pots, so you can choose 4 flavours

Do you have to have a reservation?

You don't need to, but the wait is really long during their lunch and dinner rush hours that the wait could be up to 2 hours or more!

My friend is allergic to nuts, eggs and dairy. Which of your soup bases would be free of these ingredients?

    Is there still outside seating?

No. Indoor only. Highly recommend making a reservation too

Do they require vaccination only? Open Table states so but their website and Yelp do not have that listed.

If we have a party of 3, do we get to be able to choose our own broths and be able to get our own pot?

You should be able to get 3 broths. 2 would share the half pots and the 3rd would get their own pot.

If I have a party of 4 people, can we each get our own broth?

It's two broth options per stove top, if you get a table with two stove tops then yes

Is proof of vaccination required to dine in?

Hi Edmund, That is a great question that i'm sure a lot of other guests share. Glen and E.L. are…

    Walk in or reservation only?

Depend the guest flow that day. It's better to make reservations so you don't have to wait.

Is it still buffet style where you grab your own veggies or?

    Yes it is!

Is there outdoor dining still available? If yes, can I make a reservation?

They had the tents up last time I went a few weeks ago but no one was eating underneath. We dined in and honestly felt very safe.

Are you now open for lunch as well?

    Yes but reservation is recommended

    How much is dinner?

Have you looked at the menu and their website? You will find your answers there.

    Is there a non-AYCE option?

Due to Covid-19 changes, we are temporarily only offering our AYCE course for dinner hours. However we hope to bring back our weekday Lunch special (non-AYCE option) in the near future soon. Please be on the lookout for more information here on Yelp…

I got the large and I'd hate to see how small the regular would be. The cubed filet was cooked tender, right amount of sauce, and had a good flavor profile. But again, needed more meat to justify the price. Service was prompt though basic, nothing special and polite enough. One of the workers was outside cleaning the windows so we approached her and found out that the power was out. She said they had no idea when it would be back on. I was like, "Noooooo!!!" I had waited an entire year to have their ramen again! We stayed in Torrance for a while, hoping the power would come back but it didn't look like it would be restored in time for lunch so we decided to try again for dinner instead. We stayed in Torrance a little longer because we really didn't want to drive all the way back to K-Town and then drive down again. We went back right when they opened for dinner, hoping the power was back... and it WAS!!! I had originally planned to get the Chashu Ramen but since our lunch had been delayed, I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. So I ordered the same one I had last year, the Kitakata Ramen. The broth tasted just as good as I remembered! Unfortunately, though, the chashu was a little tough this time. I remembered it being that melt-in-your-mouth kind of tender so I was a little disappointed. (Maybe it was because of the power outage? ) But everything else was excellent! We'll be back in LA for our son's graduation in May next year so hopefully we'll get another chance to visit Ban Nai. And hopefully with no power outage!
