A group of friends and I visited Pigya for the first time on a Friday evening and it was a great experience! We made reservations online and were seated right away when we arrived. The service felt a little rushed which I understand since there were a lot of people waiting outside. There were a lot of big parties celebrating graduations when we were there. We ordered the Pork Gyu which was $109 and worth it for our group. Everything was delicious and full of flavor! If it's your first time trying Korean BBQ or you are looking to try a new spot, I highly recommend Pigya! Also make sure to make a reservation ahead of time!

Such a good spot for dinner! Their valet lot is small so keep that in mind. Restaurant is clean and always packed but staff is quick and attentive. Writing this is making me crave it again lol

Pigya is going to be my new top kbbq spot in LA! Was in awe of the amount of food that comes in the set at this pricepoint- you can't find this anywhere in OC or LA. For my party of 4, I got the larger set that comes with both pork and beef meant for 4-5 people and the food just kept coming! We were absolutely stuffed by the end. Quality of the meats were amazing and perfectly cooked. My favorites were the wagyu beef belly, which the server torches in front of you, and the short rib. One thing I will say is that the meal felt a little rushed as the servers would constantly be cooking each meat one after another so it was hard to keep up, but I get that it's a very busy restaurant. Banchan that comes with the set is amazing, not a huge variety like some other kbbq spots, but every single one is high quality and essential to the experience, which I honestly prefer! Kimchi cheese fried rice and ramen at the end capped off the experience for me- such a perfect ending. The ramen was also surprisingly spicy! Our server was amazing, very friendly, and even let us know about dessert recommendations nearby. Obviously K-town parking is a hassle, so make sure to prep beforehand and leave some time to spare, especially if you have a reservation. I made a reservation through Yelp which was super helpful as I could see long lines forming here. All in all, couldn't recommend Pigya enough! Will definitely be back.

This has got to be the one of the best KBBQ experiences I've ever had. Even though it isn't AYCE, their combo sets are perfect for a group of 4 to 5 people. My positive experience was defined by how fast and attentive the service is, the amount of food, and how good the quality of the meats are. As an avid AYCE goer, I've always been worried about the potential food insufficiency since we don't do like to eat and get our money's worth. I can tell this restaurant gets their hype from not only having great quality cuts, but also their hefty portions. We ordered the pork gyu set and as a group of 4, we were more than full! I love that they close the meal off with kimchi fried rice and hangover ramen. It was a perfect meal!

Good Korean Barbecue experience while up in Los Angeles. The Pork Gyu menu was very filling and had a lot of variety. The meat quality was good and the pork belly was massive. Lucky they take Yelp reservations and we were seated quickly. The vibe inside was lively and they played good music.

First time here with family. They lost our reservations but gave us a table right away. Busy vibe and every table filled by 7pm. Food selection were good and service was great. Quality of the food was good and price is very reasonable. Highly recommend it.

I was recommended Pigya by a couple of friends and we decided to finally try it last night. The place was absolutely packed for a Sunday night, not surprising at all, but we were seated right away. They offer $4 valet parking which was stress free. Inside, vibe is really lively. The music was so loud that my friend and I were basically shouting at each other, so just know what you're walking into. Almost felt like I was at the club. We ordered the Pork Gyu tasting menu, which was the second option that offers beef. There was plenty of meat for two people and honestly could have fed a third. They cook everything for you, which I loved. The boneless beef short rib was easily my favorite and I wish there was more of it. Just be prepared to tackle the pork belly towards the end if you're in a smaller party. Banchan was limited, but loved that they kept the kimchi and bean sprouts hot on the grill. They were also out of rice paper was that was really disappointing. The chimichurri sauce they offered was so good though, I skipped the sesame oil entirely. Overall, extremely lively place, tasty kbbq spot with great service and plenty of food.

A restaurant literally named pork, yet it's been so hyped up I knew I had to come thru! My party of six shared the Pigya Tasting Menu and Chef's Signature Cut. Each serving of meat was chopstick-lickin' good. The sides? Keep em coming! Service was fairly quick and attentive; our server was amazing! Throughout the night, he manned that grill and kept the meat cookin' and comin'. Most were clean, pure, and unmarinated, and there was a variety of sauces to dip the meat in. My biggest surprise was how much I thoroughly enjoyed the pork. All my friends know I strongly dislike pork. Never in a century would I expect to be chopstick dueling for another piece of pork after an initial tasting... Our server consistently cleaned the char off the grill, and in the end loaded up our fried rice and ramen. We were already stuffed by then, but that last bite really just sealed the stomach. Our server never once skipped the beat with sides, rice paper, salad, etc. Not even water. Top-tier service at Pigya makes me want to return to ASAP!

Went out to grab dinner at Pigya in Koreatown. We got there around 10pm and were seated immediately. Our serve came around and took our order and after a couple minutes our tray of meat came out. We ordered off the tasting menu and got the pork gyu set which came with 4 meats. 2 pork options and 2 beef options. The pork were pork belly and pork cheek (jowl). The beef was beef belly and short rib. The staff here cooks for you so it was nice not having to cook my own meat. They have a tray on top of the grill for when the meat is ready. We started off with the beef followed by the pork. Both of the beef were super tender and flavorful. The pork cheek had a nice texture to it. Kind of like a mix between cartilage and meaty texture but not crunchy. The pork belly was a good potion of lean meat so we liked that it didn't just taste fatty. The set came with beef carpaccio, kimchi fried rice and ramen as well. The beef carpaccio was thin and marinated very well. It literally melts in your mouth once you eat it. It did not taste raw at all. kimchi fried rice and ramen were pretty standard and a nice way to end the meal. If you get cheese on top of the fried rice they will torch the cheese as well. Since we came before closing they didn't have valet parking. We got to park and just go in. Once you enter the restaurant they have a check in tablet in the front to sign in. Make sure to watch your step as the floor was a little slippery.

valet parking available $4 cash, $6 venmo in the lot right next to pigya! came on a saturday evening around 6PM and surprisingly didn't have a crazy wait. a big crowd did come after us, so i think it was just luck. the service here was great, with the servers grilling up the meats for us & being so attentive with recilling our water + bringing bonchon as requested. the restaurant is a great size and seems to be well managed. the overall ambiance was lively and diverse. we ordered the gyu+pork set for $109 -- the total came out to be around $140 after tip and tax for 4 people! the meats here are so high quality, fresh, and cooked well by the servers. theres no "porky"/gamey taste to anything. the bonchon is also so fresh and well prepared. overall, amazing first-time experience at pigya :) shoutout to our server, with the long blond ponytail!

Came to Pigya for the first time this weekend as I needed my KBBQ fix. First impressions was the restaurant being clean and spacious, and the staff was friendly and welcoming (Yes they cook for you). As for the food let's get into it: We went with the Pork Gyu Tasting Menu, which was $89 for 2-3 people. - Beef Brisket (8.5/10) First course, great start to the meal. Probably my second favorite meat item they served us. - Boneless Beef Short Rib (8/10) Juicy and tender, paired really well with the salt, but also recommend trying with the other sauces. - Pork Cheek (6/10) This is a personal preference, I'm not the biggest fan of pork cheek. - Pork Belly (9/10) Hands down my favorite, they prepared this the way I like it, which is cut up into small pieces with just the right amount of char/sear. Overall a great experience, not the best KBBQ I've ever had, but the service and price point, I would give this place a 5 star for sure. Would I go again? Absolutely!

I think pigya is my favorite kbbq spot in all of ktown. For the pigya combo it's about $100 after tip. Not only that the sides are amazing you get japchae, salad, cucumbers, and steamed egg (with combo). The server we had was super attentive. Immediately when our rice paper and kimchi ran out she filled it up without asking. The combo also comes with rice and ramen. So much food for such a great price. If you come with three people it fills everyone up. There's a parking lot for valet street parking is pretty hard to find.

There is sometimes street parking but the availability is rough, it's tough to park, and even one of the meters we ended up at just didn't work. They only charge a $5 cash service charge though, which isn't bad. We were lucky to be seated right away, even in a packed restaurant. The restaurant has a surprisingly modern design, and is comfortable for as small as it is. We were quickly served their signature kimchis and barley rice. The kimchi, particularly the yeolmu (young summer radish) kimchi, has a unique flavor profile well suited to their food. We ordered 2 bowls of their plain kalgooksu, 1 bibim milmyun, and 1 tteokbokki. The food came out fairly quickly. The kalgooksu was as expected the star of the show. The anchovy broth brings a savory complexity that seems impossible for a soup made from just dried fish and a few other ingredients. It even has a rich, almost thick, quality to it that is surprising for a fish broth. Their noodles, the titular kalgooksu, have the signature irregularity and chew of knife cut noodles. I appreciate the vegetables that always come in kalgooksu, like potato, pumpkin, and zucchini, which offer an earthy heartiness to the light soup. My only complaint is that the potato is in huge irregular chunks, and is barely cooked, though I feel like I have had this issue with many of the kalgooksu bowls I've had over the years. The bibim milmyun was solid. I think that I prefer the texture and flavor of naengmyeon buckwheat noodles, but the milmyun, which are made with mostly wheat flour, still provide a satisfying chew. The sauce tasted bright and fresh, especially with a splash of added vinegar. It also came with a small side portion of spicy pork and some rice paper to wrap. The tteokbokki was the one let down of the meal. To be fair, I wasn't expecting much out of tteokbokki at all restaurant like this whose specialty is essentially the opposite. I ordered the tteokbokki as a "safe pick" for a picky eater in the group. It turned out to be a bit mediocre in our opinion, and that friend ended up enjoying their kalgooksu anyways. If you're looking to try this dish, it's definitely one of if not the best I've had in Southern California, so I'd totally recommend it. I'll also warn to steer clear of the Garden Grove restaurant of the same name and specialty. I think it's a disappointing mimicry of this place.

The ambiance was lovely and perfect for a date night. The dining room felt dark, intimate, and cozy, and I especially loved the little candle on the table. It was a small touch, but it made the experience feel warm and special. We ordered the perilla oil noodle, scallop pancake, pork jowl, and hwaechae milk to share. The perilla oil noodle had a strong perilla aroma which I loved, but beyond that it didn't really taste like much. It wasn't bad but it's probably the one dish I'd skip next time. The scallop pancake was great. It was crispy, packed with scallops, and the dipping sauce complemented it really well. The pork jowl was easily our favorite dish of the night. It was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with all of the accompanying condiments. Every bite felt balanced and well thought out. The hwaechae milk was also delicious and refreshing. It was a fun drink to share and a nice contrast to the richer dishes. While the food was good overall, the portions felt pretty small for the price point. Everything tasted good but it was hard not to notice how quickly the dishes disappeared given what we paid. Maybe it was just the specific dishes we ordered but considering Danbi is on the Michelin Guide, I was expecting bolder and more memorable flavors. Korean cuisine is known for being vibrant and packed with flavor so I left feeling a little underwhelmed. Nothing we had was bad but aside from the pork jowl there wasn't a dish that really wowed me. To end the meal, the staff brought us a yuzu popsicle topped with a birthday candle, which ended up being my favorite part of the entire night. The popsicle was perfectly tangy, refreshing, and honestly more memorable than any of the dishes we ordered. It made the celebration feel thoughtful without being over the top. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was attentive, and it was a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion even though it was a bit overhyped given the small portions, high prices, and flavors that didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'd still come back to try the steak tartare, uni bibimbap, and the zabuton!

In fact, we regularly brought visitors here. They raved about how good the spare ribs were and even insisted that their last meal before LA should be at Ham Ji Park.  Here's my belated review of what I consider the best spare ribs in LA. From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
