Awesome steaks, cooked to perfection. Stellar service by Michael. Extensive wine and cocktail menu, decadent desserts. Beautiful ambience. Love the warm woods and historic detail. It looks like I'm driving 45 minutes from Blythewood for a spectacular dining experience that Camden residents get to enjoy. Maybe someone will decide we need restaurants like this in Blythewood.

Club salad with grilled chicken.
Shawna G.

Came for lunch for the first time and enjoyed my dining experience. The atmosphere was vibrant, the service was great, and the food excellent. I ordered the Club salad and substituted grilled chicken for fried. The salad was fresh and delicious, but the highlight of this dish was the salad dressing. I couldn't decide on just 1 so I ordered the poppyseed and white balsamic vinaigrette. Oh my were they delectable! My lunch date ordered the fried shrimp. Oh my goodness! I had never seen such colossal shrimp. They were certainly jumbo. They not only looked great, but tasted amazing. My date said they were fried, a lovely golden brown, and seasoned perfectly. Hands down a great meal and wonderful service. Would definitely recommend to any locals or visitors to the area such as myself.

Mini Crab Cakes - these were ok but probably taste better when dining in

SK was a beacon of light in an otherwise dreary culinary nightmare. After enduring a horrible meal at a nearby restaurant, I looked for somewhere else I could grab dinner on the fly. We were on our way and I ordered my food via phone. When we arrived, I parked in the rear and approached the front, where Michael (aka "Billy"), took very good care of us. I informed him that I ordered a few items over the phone. They have a nice sitting area behind the host podium where we were able to sit and wait. The dining room is beautiful. They have a large bar area with seating, and many booth tables for more intimate dining, as well as standalone tables for people watching and a more casual experience. While we waited, Michael graciously made us some drinks - my dirty martini was amazing. After a bit, Michael returned and said that there was no order in the works for me. It turns out that I accidentally ordered my food from their other location. He contacted them immediately, canceled the order with them and placed my order with this location. I apologized profusely and he assured us that it was no trouble. My food arrived quickly and packaged with care. We were close to where we were staying so it was still warm once we returned. Tomato Basil Crab Bisque - this was so flavorful and creamy. I ordered a bowl and could have had two more. I was hoping for more crab but there was a nice bit of fresh crab meat sitting atop a crouton. Mini Crab Cakes - these are bite-size crab cakes and they come with a jalapeño mustard sauce. The sauce was not my fave but the crab cakes were decent. Dinner Caesar Salad - I ordered this with lobster meat. The salad was OK. I was expecting a really elaborate salad for 20+ dollars. I have definitely had a better dressed ceasar, with thick ribbons of parmesan, housemade dressing with anchovies, and large croutons. This salad resembled more of a side side that they threw some lobster meat on top. I was a little disappointed. Even the lobster meat was quite scant. I'm sure had we dined in, my meal would have better. My family ate here the night before and said their meal was great. They were closing and I literally placed an order minutes before they were closing their kitchen. I'm giving grace because grace was given to me and the customer service and excellent drinks I received from Michael definitely improved this rating. I will definitely ask my sister to bring us back here on our next visit. I want the full experience and hopefully Billy, I mean, Michael, is working that day.

We stopped here to get a breather and be able to eat outdoors. After we toured the Battle of Camden site we were famished. The ribs melted from the bone but the sauce I felt was just added onto the meat at the last minute versus being cooked with Barbeque. The server and staff were very friendly and we sat outside. When we looked inside this place looked amazing. It had comfortable looking booths and it was lit well to set the mood for a nice dining experience.

Salmon and salad

We stopped by Sam Kendall's for dinner and a walk around downtown Camden. One of the nicer places to eat in the area. Street parking and plenty of parking in the rear is available. We had a lovely waitress- it was not a busy night so we were well attended too. She was attentive and helpful but maybe not as polished as one would expect for this kind of a restaurant. The service was quick, drinks were plentiful and served well. I had the crab bisque which was very different but still delicious. Highly recommend if you want to try something different. Then I had salmon on a salad and it was wonderful. My partner had a steak dinner and the pre-meal salad was frozen and not in great shape. We just sent that back to the kitchen. The seating was comfortable and overall it was a great meal. Ambiance wise it is a very warm and mood lit restaurant. The bar is studded with sport tv's though. Beautiful bar area, huge and long!!! Tons of different kinds of seating from bar, booth, and regular and high top tables plus outdoor seating as well. I would recommend this place for an intimate dinner or date night. It's not luxurious but it's comfortable, clean, and the steaks looked great. From what I understand there are two of this place, one in Camden and one in Florence. As a native, my dinner partner said the one in Florence is better but since I haven't tried it, I think the one in Camden is just fine. Check them both out and decide for yourself.

Tomato Basil Crab Bisque

Located in downtown Camden. Lunch menu around noon, 1 cup tomato basil crab bisque pretty tasty. 1 Reuben very good, bill around $20. No drinks were ordered; typical bar lunch menu, not bad.

Seared Ahi Tuna.
David C.

This is a great date night spot in downtown Camden. My partner suggested it after a recent trip with her girlfriends. Rich wood finishings everywhere and exposed brick at the ample bar and hard wood seating areas. We had the broccoli cheese bites and rare ahi tuna and they were very tasty as well as perfect for sharing. But we were really there for the champagne menu. The Wild Horse Wedding Sparkling Wine I wanted was out so the owner upgraded us two to bottles of Tattinger's which we gleefully accepted. Our server was very nice and knew lots about the menu. We will absolutely be back the next weekend we head to Camden for antiques.

Ole time beauty!

The ambiance is nice, the waitress was attentive, but the Montego chicken came out extremely dry and inedible.

Over-priced and under-flavored. At one visit service was nonexistent. Go across the street to Steeplechase or BColsons instead.

It's alright. Nothing really stood out. Food was okay, atmosphere was pleasant, service was passable, but for the price I expected more.

Ambiance - Great, chill vibe with an upscale feel. Comfortable, stylish, and perfect for a night…read moreout. Service - Absolutely outstanding. Gabe was clearly busy on a Saturday night but still stayed attentive to our table of six. He walked us through the specials with great detail, offered thoughtful recommendations, and clearly knew the menu inside and out. Food - The reason we came, and it did not disappoint. Our table enjoyed shrimp cocktail, duck spring rolls, rack of lamb, and the King Tut special--every dish was a hit. The large sides were truly shareable for all six of us. The scalloped potatoes, in particular, were incredibly cheesy and scrumptious. Overall - It was our first visit, and we will definitely be back. The only downside was that the hostess seemed visibly overwhelmed by the Saturday night rush, which made the check‑in experience a bit stressful to watch. It might help to give her additional support during peak hours so the front‑of‑house experience matches the excellence of the food and service.

The place has an interesting history, it was an old mill. I walked around before going inside to take some pics. Once we walked in, the red carpet was rolled out (the best customer service).  This was definitely one the best meals that I have ever had in my lifetime. The team was professional, friendly, courteous and helpful. The food was excellent, everything tasted freshly made with love. The next day I had No stomach pain at all, which is very rare these days when I eat at a restaurant. The lamb chops and ribeye aged steak was absolutely amazing, every bite melted in our mouths, the different flavors hit all thru our palates. The only tip I wanna make sure patrons understand. Yes it's a pricey evening out, and the sides are not included. We felt that at least one side should be included with the main dish. My 4 lamb chops cost $61 which was quite a bit. Most high end restaurants will at least include one side. Don't let this take away from your experience, just go and enjoy. It's a once a year kinda meal for us. We didn't try desert, but heard it was also amazing. It was our 32nd anniversary, and the waitress wished us many more, we didn't expect anything else. The thought was very much appreciated. I will be returning again in the near future for a special occasion.

We were seated by the hostess to a nice booth and our waiter was quick to take our orders. We ordered the Grilled Salmon ($24) with a side of Risotto. Our friend ordered the Grilled salmon with Risotto and also a Edamame/succotash side. The salmon was done perfectly and the risotto also was very good. My wife ordered a side salad and I ordered a side Caesar salad. The salads were cold, crisp and very good, although my wife's balsamic vinegar dressing caught her by surprised by the acidity of the dressing. Excellent meal. Our other friend ordered the Pork Chop, which was huge and quite thick. It had a maple glaze on it. I had a bite of it and it was very good tasting...not quite as tender as I would've liked, but that's sort of typical of most pork chops. We were too full to try any dessert. Great menu, good service. We will go back.
