Great salon and aesthetics. I live nearby so coming here is super convenient in my schedule. Plus parking is free in the structure. Coming to the salon is very methodical. Come in, get greeted, sit at table until the assistant comes over and brings you to get your hair washed, then they'll bring you to your station while you wait for your stylist. The stylist will ask what you're looking for, I'll show some inspo pics, and the rest of the session is pretty performance-oriented. Not much chit chat. If you're looking for a more social, chit chat haircutting session, this place isn't for you. The only reason why I took off a star is because each visit, the stylist will try to upsell me on services-- recommending color or a perm or their more expensive services. I don't appreciate this. I clearly see their list of services before I book! And it's expensive for a haircut already!

Got my haircut by Duna today and she was amazing! My hair looks exactly like what I asked for and feels way lighter and healthier. Perfect if you're a long layers and curtain bangs girlie like me

I went to Etude for the first time today and decided to get side bangs. We had an appointment for 6:15pm, and showed up on time. When we walked in, the front desk told us (slightly irritated) that they were waiting for us because they were supposed to get off at 6pm. We were never asked to show up early, not sure why it was our fault even though we showed up on time. We were asked to pay first and give tips even before we received any service. My stylist was Chanel and while she's very nice, I think she was not very knowledgeable on how to cut hair. I showed her the reference photo (attached) and she started to cut my hair into straight line bangs. I asked, "it's not going to be straight like this right?" and she confidently replied "I know," so I trusted that she knew what she was doing. When she started drying my hair, I quickly realized she did NOT understand what I meant, despite the reference photo and even questioning once during the haircut. When I mentioned once again that I wanted side bangs, she said "oh side bangs?" Then tried to fix it but it was already cut too short... A few other stylists came over to try and fix it but it still just looks awkward now. They also said it looks weird because of my previous root perm, but I will let the attached photo speak for itself. Everyone tried to convince me that it looks fine and it will look good once it grows out. I left very sad and upset, because there was really nothing they could do to fix it. I wasn't even offered a refund at any point and now I will have to hide these bangs somehow for the next month until it's grown out. I paid $30 +tips for this service (bangs cut alone), and was extremely disappointed by the work that was done. My friend, who also came to fix her bangs, left the salon looking the exact same as she came in. They cut like two parts super quickly and she was done. That also cost her $30 +tips. My boyfriend also joined us and his haircut was rushed, his suggestions/preferences were declined (his stylist straight up told him no), and they did not even style or put any product in his hair (he paid $60 +tips). Amongst the three of us, none of us had a good experience and are wondering how the reviews are so good. Everyone is nice though, but I'm not sure that's very helpful when you walk out feeling upset and defeated.

This has been a long overdue review. Etude has been my go to salon for the last four years and I'm always happy to pay a premium for the stellar service. From haircuts, full color changes, root touchups, balayage blending, to dry styling, I've always left the salon ecstatic with the results. I've even put my friends on this place. I've booked with Jay, Tiara, Duna and John who are experts in hair design and is able to deliver on the small details that makes my hair look amazing. Recently, I've been booking with Jisun and she is simply the best. She keeps my hair healthy through all the bleaching sessions and nails the color every time. I love chatting with her assistant, Sol, who's also very knowledgable and has helped me decide on my hair design. Overall, every stylist I've worked with here has gone above and beyond with their service and will stay overtime just to get the design right.

Second time having a cut and mens perm here, I can confidently say that its a top tier experience. Jisun always pays attention to what I need and also discusses my previous cut and perm so we can arrive at the result I want today. Also shoutout to Solana the assistant who did an outstanding job at making sure I was having the best salon experience. She moves very efficiently and always ensures I'm comfortable.

I was very iffy to go red since I've been blonde for over 5 years, but decided WHY NOT! Sometimes change is good ! That's when I found Jisun on Instagram and loved how she left each client with amazing hair. I asked her for a consultation/strand test and she was able to take me the following week. Unfortunately, due to LA traffic, I was 10 minutes late, but Jisun was very understanding and forgiving. They have a cute closet/locker room where you can leave your belongings and change into a cute robe. Her assistant, Solana, was also very friendly and welcoming. They kindly offered tea/ water and made me feel as if I was catching up with a long distance friend. In addition, they both gave me future tips on how I can maintain healthy hair! I love how I also received a mini head massage when I was getting my hair washed. Overall, I love the results and can't wait to be back! The best thing (besides me hair): PARKING WAS FREEEE! Which is an absolute plus!

Her attention to detail is unmatched -- she takes the time to really listen to what you want, offers expert suggestions, and somehow makes the entire experience feel effortless and fun. Her technique with men's cuts and iron perms is flawless; she knows exactly how to create a clean, stylish look that grows out beautifully and is easy to maintain. She meticulously works on your hair to perfect it at every angle. So if she is quiet, it's because she's in her zone. She's been working on my hair for the past year--perhaps approaching two years. Can you believe she is the co-director of this place? How empowering. I used to go to the other co-director, but I needed a change & I knew Olivia would be the best stylist for me. I always feel so beautiful whenever I leave the salon and I feel like every customer should feel that way. So what is she known for? Her hair coloring skills. Oh gosh, I wish my fine hair would allow me to get balayage... but I have gone to a point where my hair will tolerate jet black. And I can tell you -- my hair has never been this long and healthy since my virgin hair (middle school!) I can post a photo to show how cute it looks. I think I found "my look." She cuts my hair every couple of months. I love how she cuts my bangs. She makes sure that it looks good from eeeeevery angle. I've convinced my SO to come here too. And now he won't let anyone else touch his hair. He is very shy, so he likes the luxury treatment with little conversation. Hehe. Thank you for making us look great, Olivia.

I went to a different stylist from the one I usually go to because he was out of town. Jay(my usual stylist) did a digital perm on me last time which turned out perfect. I went with another stylist since I've been going to this salon for 10 years and Jay has never done me wrong. This time, I asked for another digital perm and Elisha completely ruined my hair. I should have known because first she talked me out of getting the one I got before (which took Jay 6 hours) saying it would be more "low maintenance" and would look better on me. She finished my haircut with perm within 2.5 hours. Her blond haired assistant/student kept aggressively pushing my head forward bc naturally I had a lot of curlers which made my head start to lean back at times even though I was trying my best to keep it straight. I know perms dry your hair out and Jay would always advise me to do at home treatments for upkeep, but this time I had to buy hundreds of dollars worth of deep conditioning masks/oils/treatments to get my hair to look somewhat normal on top of the hundreds of dollars I already spent on the perm Elisha gave me. I thought about not writing this review since I love going to Jay and the staff he has around him have always been so sweet, but my experience with Elisha was not good. I thought she was nice at the time, but she left me with worse hair than when I went in with/than I've ever had in my life. I will have to get it done again bc no amount of masks/oils can fix it. read more

I strongly don't recommend hair dye, hair cut, and perm here. My hair stylist Jisun was welcoming but skills are lacking cause my wolfcut looks like clumps sectioned off. Half the time she handed me off to a blond dyed hair girl student who repeatly hit my head with a hair blow dryer while blowing my hair and then got dye on my shirt and skin on & around my head; which remained on my skin for 3 weeks (I never experienced this with other Salons I've gone to for hair dyes) I didn't pay for a student price, I paid for a professional service ($$$) so this was very disrespectful & unethical of Etude Salon. My perm was done incorrectly and costed me more time and money to fix it elsewhere. The young girls at reception don't know how to talk or be welcoming; will tell you to fetch things for them. read more

I made a point to read all of the reviews that weren't 5 stars because I genuinely couldn't understand how this salon has so many glowing reviews based on my experiences. I gave this salon two chances with two different hairstylists because I wanted to believe my first visit was just an exception. Unfortunately, both experiences were very similar. The biggest issue was communication. Neither stylist spoke enough English for us to have a basic conversation about what I wanted, which immediately made me uneasy. I had a very simple request: no layers, no thinning, and only trim 1-2 inches because I prefer to keep my hair long. During my first appointment, the stylist immediately tried to convince me to get layers and have my hair thinned despite me clearly saying I didn't want either. Throughout the appointment, she also kept encouraging me to come back for a keratin treatment to straighten my hair--even though my hair is already naturally straight. It felt like I was being sold services instead of having my requests listened to. A couple of months later, I decided to give the salon another chance with a different stylist. Unfortunately, it was the same experience. Communication was difficult, the stylist wasn't particularly friendly or personable, and I never felt confident that she understood what I wanted, even after I showed multiple inspiration photos. For context, I don't color or chemically treat my hair. I only come in for simple haircuts. If a salon struggles with something as basic as following straightforward haircut instructions, it doesn't give me confidence in the level of experience or attention to detail of the stylists. The customer service at the front desk also left a lot to be desired. The receptionists didn't feel welcoming, and the interaction noticeably became friendlier only after I tipped my stylist more than 15%. Given the prices this salon charges, I expected much better communication, customer service, and a stylist who would simply listen to what I asked for. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this salon based on my experiences. read more

I had a bad experience with Elisha. I asked for brown, but she dyed my hair black and acted like nothing was wrong. She also asked me to pull out my Instagram to follow her and pressured me to like her photo, which felt very rude and unprofessional. Before I left, she asked if I had Venmo so I could pay her tip. I won't be coming back. read more

I've been going to Jisun for my men's haircuts and perms for about 3 years now, and she never disappoints. She really listens to what I want and always recommends what works best for my face shape and hair type. Her Korean trendy style is exactly what I'm looking for, and the results always come out clean and modern. From consultation to finish, she takes great care of her clients and makes sure everything is perfect before you leave. She always checks if I'm fully satisfied and makes adjustments if needed. I have been going to Aria for over three years now? I live in NY but when my main colorist moved I struggled to find someone who could get my long fine asian black hair to a blonde I wanted without the brassy tones. Aria has been amazing and has gotten me to my blonde balayage every summer and always focuses on the integrity of my hair. I fly back often from NY and always make it point to go to her in the Spring and Winter for touch ups. If you need a good color and cut stylist then don't wait and book now! They speak English so no need to be nervous! read more

Came here for a simple haircut a few months ago after hearing great reviews of the spot -- overall the ambiance is nice and they wash your hair well. However, my haircut was extremely rushed... I asked for layers and a simple trim to keep my length. She repeatedly told me that she couldn't do layers for me because my hair was too thin, on top of that when the haircut was finished she didn't ask me if I wanted any changes and she went immediately into styling. I also had to remind her to add in hair protectant (considering my thin hair). I was extremely disappointed by the customer service here considering a women's haircut is priced at $80 or higher. read more

I have been a long-time client of Ms. Aria Choi. She has been coloring and cutting my hair for over four years now, and every visit has been amazing. Aria has such a great eye for aesthetics and is always so patient and attentive. I trust her completely!! The entire team at Etude Salon is also fantastic. Love Olivia and the whole salon! She's an absolute expert--I've trusted her with my hair for over a year now, and she never misses. I got my first C-curl perm with her last November, followed by a trim, and just came back today for another perm. I love my hair every time. Honestly, probably the best haircut I've ever had. She knows exactly what she's doing, and my hair is so easy to maintain with lasting volume. The whole team is amazing--everyone is super friendly, professional, and the salon itself is chic, clean, and filled with good vibes and great music. Great space, great vibes, free and easy parking, very friendly and talented staff. Jisun and her assistant Sol did a magic straight on my curly coarse hair. it's a long process but I had a great time. and my hair is Magic Straight! Free consultation and they do everything there! the staff trains for three years so you never get a beginner stylist. It was my first time there and it was a great experience! I loved how they give you gowns to wear before the cut and helps a lot with not getting hair all over your clothes. My Stylist was Zion and she was very sociable and I felt very comfortable. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted and she went out of her way to not only dry but straighten my hair to make sure everything was even. She actually recommended a softer, wavier perm, but I kept insisting I wanted it curlier (lol). She listened to exactly what I wanted while still giving me honest professional advice, which I really appreciated. She also recommended getting a haircut beforehand, and I'm SO glad I listened. I have really thick hair with a lot of density, and she spent about 40 minutes cutting it. She didn't rush at all and was so meticulous. She removed just enough weight while keeping my length, added beautiful long layers, and gave my hair so much more movement and dimension. The perm came out exactly how I was hoping! My hair feels so much lighter, the curls are beautiful, and I'm honestly obsessed with the result. I drove about an hour from the Valley, and it was 100% worth it. Jennifer agreed to accommodate me and even stayed after hours to work on me. She assessed my hair and decided what to do (we ended up removing 50% of the extensions -- the previous salon had added too much hair so she could charge me for more hair, which was one of the reasons I ended up looking like I was wearing a wig). I met Yuki, who owns and operates this salon and also one of the best stylists I've had in my years of barbers. She is so nice and explained the process of the donation and also provided guidance on selecting the best hair cut for me. After looking at a few photos, I decided to go with a moderate cut to ease back into the general population. I was so happy with the results and would recommend Yuki to any of my friends. She will only take appointments and is the busiest during the weekend. I would recommend calling well in advance for your appointment, as she works generally towards the end of the week through the weekend.

I said I had another appt after but that would be fine. I arrived and sat down and waited. They said I was checked in. I waited one hour before going to the front desk to say that now, I would not have time to do the appt because, as I told them, I would have to leave for another appt. I had allotted 2 hours and now there was only 1 hour left and I had not even been seen or sent for hair washing. All the while I waited, I could see Sal doing at least 2 other people's hair. When I asked the front desk if I could reschedule, they said they would talk to him. Several minutes passed. Sal was aware that I was there, but chose not to speak to me himself. He chose not to even take two minutes to face me and apologize. He was going to Mexico the next night, and could only offer the next day during hours I had to work. The salon manager apologized for Sal and offered another hair dresser. I have curly hair and want someone experienced in curly hair- especially when the haircut is right before my wedding and will cost hundreds of dollars. I think the worst part was that Sal was right there but simply didn't have the courtesy to apologize. I will never return to this salon. As for my wedding in two weeks, I have asked my makeup artist to help me find someone.

I specifically said I was willing to pay the extra because I did not want yellow or orange roots. Not only did my roots remain yellow after processing and toner, but since the appointment I now have noticeable breakage on the bottom of my hair that was not present beforehand. My hair appear fragile and uneven, and my hair feels significantly thinner since this appointment. I can't even run my fingers through it .......it feels extremely dry, rough, and damaged. During styling, I also received a burn on my ear from her curling iron. When I raised concerns about the color result. It was dismissed rather than addressed. She told me it was impossible to get my roots bright blonde with regrowth this long....... after already charging me extra for the double process and assuring me it could be done. This service was performed by Jaime, the owner. I am now left with breakage in the back, damaged hair, and yellow roots.

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. And thanks again for the massage therapist recommendation. Rest and recovery, here I come!

If your feet are in need of TLC, renewal and restoration, Ms. Glen has a carefully curated service that will leave your feet feeling brand new. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I had discussed my upcoming nuptials with her and she wanted to make sure my hands moisturized properly for my big day, even providing a demonstration on proper application. Ms. Glen is a gem!

I trusted the front desk staff to guide me, and was quoted $80 for Gel-X, builder gel removal, and French tip. At my appointment on Friday 7/18, I was unexpectedly charged $110! I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

I recently visited this amazing hair salon and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such warmth and friendliness by the staff. They immediately put a luxurious robe on me and tied it for me, which was such a lovely touch. The salon itself was clean, modern and beautifully decorated. What really impressed me was how every stylist and their assistant tended to their customers immediately, without any hesitation. It was clear that customer service is a top priority here. The salon also went above and beyond by washing my hair before and after the cut, which was so refreshing and relaxing. Now, onto my stylist, Kimmy. She was absolutely amazing. If you go here I would recommend booking your appointment with Ellie! But honestly all the stylists here are amazing! I have been following Ellie for a while on Instagram and managed to convince my boyfriend to get a haircut with her last year. She did such great work that I decided to treat myself to a haircut with her for my birthday. I dragged my boyfriend there again for a trim and perm and my friend for a cut as well on the same day! (Birthday Hair Date~) She did such a good job on the perm and our haircuts. She recently did an amazing dye job on that same friend's hair and so I took it as a sign to finally bite the bullet and dye my hair too (something I've always been on the fence about). I am a newbie to dying my hair and so I was a bit nervous about how my hair would fare, but Ellie did such an amazing job! I love it and she answered all of my questions and requests patiently and kindly. I've gone to Isabel (@youronly_won) twice now -- once for a haircut and once to bleach/dye my hair for the first time ever), and I'm so incredibly happy with the results! It's been so difficult finding the right hair stylist that truly understands how to cut, dye and style Asian hair. I really wish I found her sooner! Isabel provides consultations and really takes the time to understand your hair and listen to what you like/don't like. Last week, I visited Isabel to get my hair bleached/dyed for the first time. During the consultation, Isabel explained the different shades of color I could achieve with my hair, how many times I would potentially need to bleach my hair, and what other alternatives there were. She was also very communicative throughout the process and explained what she was doing step by step. Isabel always goes above and beyond to make sure I'm 100% satisfied with the results. I got my hair done by Isabel a few days ago and she did amazing! She's super friendly and always explains step by step what she's doing so you know what to expect. There was occasionally another assistant that would help her to quicken the bleaching and dyeing process. Her and Isabel were extremely thorough to make sure every strand was covered. Isabel made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process and even gave me a massage while she washed out the product in my hair. She also taught me how to style my hair at home. I was honestly a bit nervous because I'm very picky and have had multiple bad experiences with salons but I love how my hair came out! I was worried how to take care of shortcut hair Every morning cuz I'm too lazy to dry my hair in the morning. So I asked her that and she goes, Dont worry! Let's make that happened miracle! Wow it is really a Miracle! OMG! After her doing my hair, I became a totally different looking! I like that! Also in the morning, I just do the blow dry after the shower, and it is just perfect without doing any iron! Even more, i saved more time in the morning doing styling hair! 10 STARS FOR ISABEL! I decided to get the refresh setting perm from Isabel and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Isabel is extremely professional, humble, and genuinely cares for her clients' hair. What I especially loved about her is that she took into consideration what I wanted, while giving me her own advice and opinion. Also, I loved how she didn't pressure me into getting additional treatments -- however, she guides her clients based on the condition of their hair, so definitely take her advice. Olivia is the stylist to go to for all your hair needs. She has been my stylist for many years now and she never disappoints. I usually go in for c-curl perms and hair cuts and she is extremely talented. I also love that she respects my requests. If I ask for a 2 inch trim, she will cut no more than 2 inches of my hair. This time, I went in to add some layers to my hair and for curtain bangs. I specifically told Olivia that I wanted to maintain my current length. I love love LOVE the results. I love my new balayage hair done by Ellie! I found out about her work through a friend and instagram. It was my first time getting my hair bleached and colored so I was a little nervous, but Ellie is sweet and friendly and made me feel comfortable. She was patient as well with my questions about hair care and products. I'm super happy with my hair and would go back to her again for any touchups and next major hair changes. Parking was free at the plaza the salon is located in when I went. Etude W Salon is on the second floor. Got my hair done last Saturday! I would highly recommend Isabel Won to anyone looking for a great hair styling experience. I was running late but Isabel was incredibly understanding and accommodating. She did an amazing job on my hair! She was professional, took care of my hair, and never let the assistant do the jobs on their own. She checked every bleached section carefully. (My previous experience with another stylist was bad:( ) The assistant was also nice. My scalp is always sensitive but I rarely felt uncomfortable during this visit, which was truly satisfying! Ellie is the best! My friend recommended me to her and I'm so glad to have her as my hair stylist now. She is always very understanding of exactly what I want and also very stylish. I usually get my hair cut by her but this time I decided to make my straight hair more wavy but getting a refresh perm, along with a treatment to make it healthier. I've been coming here for a few months now getting my haircut by Isabel and they've been the best haircuts I've gotten. Before, I used to go to Great Clips and it would take a few days for the haircut to look ok. But Isabel really cares and takes her time, making sure you're comfortable. I've been driving all the way from Santa Barbara to see Aria for the past 3 years. I get a digital perm and the results I get with her are life changing. I don't think I've ever had my haircut turn out just like the photo I provided, but she can pull it off easily while giving you personal consulting. I had such a great experience with Dune! She did an amazing job with my haircut and highlights. She was incredibly sweet, gentle, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire appointment.
