He strolled in 20min late for the appt. His ignorance and unprofessionalism mixed with a lack of talent should immediately disqualify him from ever touching someone's hair, again. He stated he teaches at Pau Mitchell. God help those people. They gave me a refund in the cut but not the tip. Hence the 2 stars instead of 1. The receptionist had a negative vibe. I'm from Denver. This was kind of a podunk salon to me but I guess Winter Park finds it suitable. Ryan cut me with a razor he uses all day. I could get a disease from his poor technique. He also cut me and didn't say anything. Coward. Edit to respond: Unhappy? A blind person can cut hair better than Ryan. There's no "feeling". It's a fact that he cut my hair like an amateur. I went to another salon. They said you hire anyone and that complaints about the quality of hair cuts is something other salons are aware of. Why would I return to allow him to continue or butcher my hair? My neck was bleeding. Your salon is trash. The photos I provided are proof. What a dumb way to try and side step responsibility. Calling you unprofessional would be too high of praise. You manage your salons like Ryan cuts hair. Regardless of the review I'm going to the doctor and I'm calling code enforcement.

To start things off, I'll say the place is very nice and reminds me of a coffee shop. People are very nice and will even give you complimentary refreshments. Parking can be a little difficult since it's in Ivanhoe area. For my haircut, all I needed was a trim. The agreement was just maintaining most of the length and let the hair have some flow and texture towards the top. The guy even ran his hands through my hair to follow the direction it grows in. Next thing I know, he's combining my hair in the opposite direction and cutting. At first I thought it was some technique I'd never seen before. But turns out he fully intended for my hair to go in that direction. At the end, I asked why he cut my hair that way if originally he was even moving my hair in the proper direction. His response was that my hair wants to grow in the direction he cut. I chose not to argue since it had already been done and at that point I didn't trust him to fix it anyways. However, I do know he's wrong. My hair naturally falls in the direction seen in my picture as it dries. Now it has a weird shape on the sides with no life at the top. I'm sure these people are well trained, however I had a bad experience and will not be returning.

Five stars truly isn't enough for Kat - I honestly don't think I can put into words how truly amazing and talented Kat really is! When I first moved to Orlando about 6 years ago, finding a perfect hair stylist was top priority. I came across Kat on Instagram and just knew she would be perfect. For almost 6 years, she has had kept my hair completely and utterly flawless! She truly listens to what you want and and delivers 150%. She is the best colorist I've ever had and just as amazing of a stylist. You can just show her a photo and she somehow make it into reality for YOUR hair type and style. I moved to Orlando 5 years ago and one of the things I struggled for a while was finding a hair stylist that could cater to my style and my hair! I'm Hispanic with a TON of curly hair. By luck I stumbled upon Kat's Instagram and I saw pictures of her work and I spotted clients with similar hair with fun, bright colors so I had to book an appointment. I'm so happy I did, Kat is amazing! She was very helpful on social media prior to our meeting. The day of my first appointment she was a darling, Kat understood me and my style. Kat is very well known for her women's color and Balayage expertise ( something I can also blows me away though it's not a service if ever need lol ) but her men's cuts are not to be forgotten ! She's been doing my hair for almost two years now and I trust her completely, to the point she has free reign to be creative with the direction of each cut. She is up front and honest if she thinks a color idea is either a bad choice or isn't immediately possible based on the facts and doesn't just do what would make her the most money knowing it's bad for my hair. I respect anyone that does that, in any industry !! She works at Educe Salon on Mills near Colonial (50) and is a perfect fit in this trendy but down to earth salon, with cool owners and her laid back attitude and honed skills , I know I have found my stylist for LIFE! I am probably at the old-ish end of Kat's clients' age range *and* have been in a high end salon client for years. Kat is multi talented in: cut, color, working with your hair texture/skin tone, maintaining hair integrity, and client customer service. Professional hair artist seems to be a more appropriate term for her skill set. My aging hair is shiny, bouncy, and on trend. I also love how she books/confirms. As a busy, working, neurotic mom - Kat's and Educe's confirmations are completely appreciated and professional. Additionally, her prices are great. If you compare her fees to some of the higher end salons here in the Orlando 'burbs (without the talent) you'll understand the value in Kat. I'm really glad to have returned to Kat. Several months ago I visited her at Educe Salon and had balyage and a cut done to my hair. I got the most compliments on my hair than I have had. I took it upon myself to do my hair after that- mainly to save a little money and because I live about an hour and fifteen minutes away. What a mistake! I managed to cut half my hair off into a mullet at another salon and my hair was over processed and unhappy. Truly missing the Care, Color, and Beauty that Kat infused previously in my hair, I returned to her recently and she put flow and rich color back to my stiff 'do. I've booked two appointments for the next four months- won't go anywhere else! Looking forward to growing out this mullet of mine so I can experience Kat's trademark Natural Hair. Kat is hands down the best stylist I've ever had. I had an absolutely horrific hair incident that i've been trying to fix for the past year. Kat was able to work with my extensions beautifully when I had them in on top of helping me correct my color with damaged hair. When taking my extensions out, she was able to work with me in creating a style that I felt comfortable with despite the mess it had be left in (from original incident). I finally feel comfortable with the hair I have thanks to Kat. She is such a warm kind-hearted person who knows what she's doing!!! I actually found Kat on instagram back in 2016 and she took me from dull blonde to blonde balayage and I loved it! I've been coloring my hair (highlights, etc) most of my life but recently I really wanted a change. I sent Kat some pictures because I knew if anyone could do what I was imagining, it would be her! I paid over $400 for a balayage and haircut after a consultation where we agreed on a beige balayage and a trim with long layers. Instead, I left with hair that was orange, uneven in tone, and much shorter than expected. I specifically requested a trim and to maintain length with a U-shape. Not only did I lose significantly more length than expected, but when I returned for the correction appointment, my hair had to be recut because it was uneven. $125 for a haircut keep in mind. The color was never what we agreed on. I was left with obvious warm/orange pieces and was told we would need to lighten my hair again to get closer to the beige result that was discussed from the beginning. Even after the second lightening service, the result was still not what I asked for. I now have significant breakage in my bangs and front pieces that did not exist before this service. I had intentionally spent a long time growing my hair out and avoiding additional bleach, and now I'm dealing with damage that will take a long time to grow out. Months, even up to 12months! After I reached out with concerns and provided multiple photos, I received a voicemail indicating she was willing reimburse me. However, when I followed up, no refund was provided. Instead, I felt like my concerns were dismissed. At one point Patricia even suggested that my photos were not true. I ultimately had to seek a color correction elsewhere at additional cost and am now hundreds of dollars deeper into fixing a situation that should never have happened in the first place. The color correction alone was $275. Between the original service, corrective work, and the damage to my hair, this has been one of the most disappointing salon experiences I've ever had. She ran her fingers through my unruly mess with a kind of confidence that felt like both a service and a privilege. Her scissors? Dangerous in all the right ways. I didn't leave the chair so much as saunter out of it, feeling a little too good about myself and maybe just a little bit scandalous. And when they say "Panache," they mean it. You'll leave with hair so sexy people will assume you've been up to no good. 10/10 would let Amanda play with my locks again... and maybe even let her pull them a little next time.

Luckily, a friend came to the rescue and recommended Anna at Bella Mia. Bella Mia is located on the back side of the Maitland Exchange, just past the Publix Plaza on 17/92 in Maitland. It's a lovely salon, filled with some very nice people. Anna has been cutting my hair for 8 months now and I couldn't be happier. Anna listens, makes recommendations and is a total doll. She has shaped up my hair and it's happier than ever. LOVE Anna!!! Plan on booking 2-3 weeks out, as she fills up and so do the other stylists. I've seen some great looking cuts and coloring services leave that salon. If you are looking for some fun services, like Hair Bling, check them out! (Shiny stuff tied into your hair, lasts a few days or a few months depending on your hair). They have 'Nole, Gator, UCF, Magic and Bucs colors, plus some fun colors like Purple.
