Where do I even begin. Crystal is incredible. I have struggled to find a stylist who makes me feel at ease and who is able to take the time to truly understand what I want and to actually do it. The salon is so comforting, and so nice. I have spent the last few years going to a luxury salon and leaving unhappy every time after spending so so much. I made the decision last minute for a birthday cut to go somewhere else and how glad I am that I did. I wanted a shag initially but I was very unsure about the bangs. I was indecisive haha. I spoke to Crystal over text after being referred to her through the salon and asked her many questions, in the salon she took even more time to talk it out with me beforehand and we figured together what would be the best thing to do. She is so patient, so kind and just has such good and warm energy. At the other salon, I always felt anxious and rushed and had to put on a happy face and lie because I felt too scared to speak up. I was constantly unhappy. But not here, I expressed to Crystal my bad experiences and she checked in with me throughout the cut to make sure I was happy. She decided to start with the layering, then the framing and dry it then decide at the end if we should add a fringe. This made me so happy that I could see the process and make decisions throughout. She will give you her opinion when you ask and be honest with you about any concerns which is so important. The amount of care she put into my haircut and goals and her patience is amazing. She informed me about styling and haircare. We had great conversation throughout and she gave me an incredible scalp massage when shampooing. She was so intricate and truly took her time with me. I am sold and will continue to visit here. It feels so good to finally have found a stylist that works with me and understands me, and to find a salon with such a cozy and welcoming environment. I've been in this Salon twice now. I had a haircut at first, it turned out very nice. I decided to return to them because of their great costumer service. The second time I went in I knew I was getting something that took lots of time, lots of patience and a bit on the pricey side. I have natural black hair and I asked to get it lightened and dyed to an ash light brown. Crystal was the one who attended me and she did a fantastic job! She fit me into her schedule, and even though it wasn't gonna be an easy task, she took on the challenge. She worked for hours (about 5.5-6 hours) and we finally got the color I had desired. Throughout, she was so patient, so friendly and completely exceeded my expectations. There's back story to these stars. I cut my hair off in November to a cutie pixie style. Since then, I've had it cut again by the same person (it looked fine) and then two more times by two others here in San Francisco (once in a hipster salon, once at the same salon of the original cut) Both times I kept trying to "fix it" back to the adorable original style. First off I have to say that my stylist was very friendly and entertaining. She offered me water and answered all my questions. I decided to try this salon because I was in need of a haircut and I couldn't get in at another salon I wanted to try. I told the stylist I was open to a new style and allowed her to suggest a style that she was comfortable cutting. She suggested cutting the sides of my head with scissors instead of using the razor. That turned out to be a bad idea. I could tell that the sides were cut uneven and waited for her to give her opinion. She looked me over and knew it was off but told me it was okay. The reason why I am saying this is because she asked me five times and looked a little nervous. Overall the cut was average. The shampoo was the highlight of my experience. read more

Danielle is the best hair stylist I've had- and I've had quite a few. I have a bush of curly hair, and she's helped me keep it cut well so that it's controlled. She's patient with me and all of my crazy hair antics, and I never have to worry that she'll give me a haircut that looks bad on me. If it's a style that doesn't suit me, she lets me know and has suggestions on what we can try instead, which most stylists don't do! I'm always confident that I'll leave looking cute. I also never feel forced or obligated to buy hair products, and as a poor college student, that makes things a lot less awkward. the environment of the salon is very relaxed, it's not hoity toity, and the other salon staff are friendly and they make you feel welcome. Taking in consideration that the most recent review for this salon was back in 8/14. This was my experience. I called the salon for a consultation and ask the receptionist to select the most experienced hair stylist as I am very weary about someone doing my hair. She booked me with an apprentice I believe (Not Good). On my initial consultation I ask if it was possible to get my hair to a lighter shade ( my hair is dark brown). She ask if I had dyed my hair in the past and I said yes (black over the counter products) about 3-4 months ago. She said ok, that should not be a problem "If my clients want blond I give them blond". read more

I've gone to get my hair cut with Tracy for the past 4 years with zero disappointment! She really has an understanding of what her client wants with a knowledge and expertise to get the job done. I've never had a bad cut with her and it's always a clean and sleek look. I'll go in there with a general idea (i.e. keep it long, cut it short) and I give her free reign to do what she thinks is best. I'm more of a simple, conservative person in terms of fashion and I never worried about her going overboard or giving me a really avante garde style. Although, if you wanted that, this salon could do that really well too! They're prices are a bit more expensive, but you are definitely paying for a high quality, flattering hair cut and it is WELL worth it! read more

Just got my hair colored here. $55 for hair color, $63 because they couldn't get my previous blonde hair to match my root on the first go, $30 for blow dry (is this necessary? Do they expect me to leave the hair salon with wet hair?) was never informed that I was going to get charged for blow dry. My hairstylist did it on her own after washing my colored hair. $16 for deep conditioning and $13 for a hair mask. Plus a $30 tip. I can't really justify paying $200 for going back to brown hair. I did however liked my stylist. read more
