I've recommended multiple people to her, including a few guy friends, and I've genuinely never heard anyone leave unhappy. One thing I really appreciate about Andrea is her honesty. I can come to her with inspiration photos or ideas, and she'll realistically explain the best way to achieve the look while still maintaining the health of my hair. If something seems too harsh or damaging, she'll tell you -- and then help create a game plan to safely get you where you want to be over time instead of compromising your hair just for a quick result. I truly value that level of professionalism and care. Andrea has well over 15 years of experience, and it shows. She's knowledgeable, talented, easy to talk to, and her pricing is very reasonable -- which is honestly hard to find these days. She's a master at cutting all styles and I always leave her feeling happy with a fantastic cut! I've been to a lot of hair stylists over the years, from Miami to NYC and have worn my hair very long and very short and Rita is absolutely the best stylist I've ever had cutting my hair! Actually she use to work closer to down town jax, and when she moved out to Ponte Vedra all of her clients followed her! I wear my hair super short now, and it's so crazy that even with it so super short, there is so much shape and a modern edge to it. While I have many complaints, the main one is that I did not like my haircut, and even after I tried to ask the stylist to fix it, I was rushed out looking terrible. My haircut was 14 minutes with no wash/shampoo, no blow dry and no products. I was told that the cut would be dry because of my hair type. My hairstylist was Rita who said that my hair type is best cut with dry hair. I have never had that in the past, but I trusted her experience. However, I was very disappointed that she cut my hair so quickly and then didn't ask me if I liked it, I felt like she was pushing me out the door. I have long hair and asked for many layers, lots of layers that are visible and she did not give me that. I had her add more in and asked her to fix a few things 5/6 times, which she did, but with the attitude that I was bothering her. Her cuts are $75 dollars and that's an unfair price for the experience I got. My next complaint is partly due to the coronavirus but it still left a negative taste in my mouth. I called on Friday for an appointment and was told the salon was finally able to use the blow dryers, but to schedule early in the day because they sometimes ran out of sanitized brushes near the end of the day. I came in for my Saturday appointment and Rita told me that was not the case, no blowdrys. I told her that the receptionist told me differently, and her only response was "oh she knows". Therefore my hair looked extremely sad due to the lack of wash/blow dry and products. Overall, I felt very unwelcomed at this salon. I don't like my hair at all and I don't recommend Rita as a stylist.

I spoke with Tatiyana and she told me I could come in that day to have a consultation. I told her I was out of town for work until mid January. She asked some questions about my hair and she said that we can set up a virtual consult. She got my number and said that she will be sending me a message to send her some pictures of my hair then she will set up a virtual consult. One week later, I heard nothing from Tatiyana or the salon. I tried to give grace because it was around the holidays. I called again and spoke to a young lady at the desk. She reassured me she would have Tatiyana call me back. Tatiyana called me back and no apologies or anything for the lack of communication. Now Tatiyana says I have to come in for a consult and she picked which stylist would be best for me. Never seen this stylist work and how could she pick what stylist is best for me when she knows nothing about my hair. I then asked would I be able to get my hair done when I come in for a consult and she said I might but can't guarantee it. Most African American women require edge control and heat protection products for our hair to ward against excessive breakage. I shouldn't have paid for services that day but I couldn't bring myself to do it because it's her livelihood. I don't remember her name nor would I share it. I don't recommend going there on a whim unless that you know the stylist slays hair. I was LIVID when I left. And highly disappointed that the owner didn't interject or offer an apology. My last salon would attempt a balayage, but would always end up being more of an ombré which seems to be a common issue. Be warned, it is very pricey as she charges $100 per hour of application, but it is 100% worth it if you want stunning hair. Everyone is incredibly friendly and they are one of the only Bumble and Bumble salons in Jacksonville. All of the products smell amazing and are great for your hair.
