Actually she use to work closer to down town jax, and when she moved out to Ponte Vedra all of her clients followed her! I wear my hair super short now, and it's so crazy that even with it so super short, there is so much shape and a modern edge to it. While I have many complaints, the main one is that I did not like my haircut, and even after I tried to ask the stylist to fix it, I was rushed out looking terrible. My haircut was 14 minutes with no wash/shampoo, no blow dry and no products. I was told that the cut would be dry because of my hair type. My hairstylist was Rita who said that my hair type is best cut with dry hair. I have never had that in the past, but I trusted her experience. However, I was very disappointed that she cut my hair so quickly and then didn't ask me if I liked it, I felt like she was pushing me out the door. I have long hair and asked for many layers, lots of layers that are visible and she did not give me that. I had her add more in and asked her to fix a few things 5/6 times, which she did, but with the attitude that I was bothering her. Her cuts are $75 dollars and that's an unfair price for the experience I got. My next complaint is partly due to the coronavirus but it still left a negative taste in my mouth. I called on Friday for an appointment and was told the salon was finally able to use the blow dryers, but to schedule early in the day because they sometimes ran out of sanitized brushes near the end of the day. I came in for my Saturday appointment and Rita told me that was not the case, no blowdrys. I told her that the receptionist told me differently, and her only response was "oh she knows". Therefore my hair looked extremely sad due to the lack of wash/blow dry and products. Overall, I felt very unwelcomed at this salon. I don't like my hair at all and I don't recommend Rita as a stylist.

I called to see if there was any availability during my lunch break and to my surprise, there was room to get me in. Jessy is who cut my hair, and she gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. So many stylists prior to this experience talked me down off of super short layers. But I'd gotten it before and loved it; I knew it would look good on me. She took her time and though it took longer than my lunch break, I really appreciated that she was committed to my vision to the end. More importantly, she wanted to ensure I loved it post blow dry and style. I was also able to take a 5 minute work call in the middle of my cut, which some salons do not allow; so I was also appreciative of the flexibility in allowing me to take it without headphones so last minute. If you need a cut, I highly recommend giving this salon (and Jessy) a chance like I did!!

I spent the entire visit just having a genuine conversation with a wonderful person - laughing and sharing life experiences. I'm extremely grateful I went to The Master's Touch Salon for this part of my treatment journey. They were caring, kind, and compassionate and I highly recommend Elle and this salon. What's more, they didn't even charge me for the visit. I know this isn't a typical salon review as I seemingly had my hair "undone" but any salon and stylist that shows this degree of care and compassion is certainly the kind of place I'd go to again and again.

I have a ton of thick hair that can be insane. A lot of people never knew how to cut it correctly, and majority of my hair cuts ended in tears... Until, I met Carol. She started cutting my hair in 2003 and I never let another person touch it. She really takes her time and will not give you a cut that looks bad on you. I trust her with my hair explicitly. And, I cannot stress how anal I am about who I let touch my hair. But, with Carol I can just go and give her a really vague idea about what I think, and I let her take it from there. I've never been less than ecstatic about every haircut she's ever given me. Even when I moved to Tallahassee to go to FSU, I came back for Carol's haircuts. Recently, I relocated to Chicago and realized it would no longer be practical to travel to Jax for my haircuts. However, every time I am back in Florida I guarantee I will be scheduling an appointment with her. She really is the best.
