I booked a deluxe blowout, which is specifically meant for curly, thick hair. Unfortunately, my experience was really disappointing. The stylist was very kind and personable, but he openly admitted that blowouts weren't his specialty. It showed in the results--I left feeling like the service wasn't worth the money at all. If a salon offers a "deluxe blowout" service, it seems reasonable to expect that it will be done by someone experienced in working with curly, thick hair. I wish I had been assigned to a stylist who regularly does blowouts, because that's what I booked and paid for. read more

Made appointment online for a one color all over for my Granddaughter at $74 and up. When she got home her hair was the same color she went in with and the stylist added another package for $143. My girlfriend went here yesterday for a trim. Her hair was down to her butt and they lady cut more than a few inches off, unevenly, and thinned it out resulting in flyaways all the way through her hair. She spent less than two minutes on her hair and used only clippers to do it! The lady who cut the hair had short chin length hair. I've now made this my regular stop, and can't see that changing any time soon. Kate is my stylist. She is young, but has more than enough experience to understand how hair works. I explained how I liked my hair and she immediately told me what previous stylists had done wrong, and then how to fix the issues. Four months later I'm happier than ever with the way my hair looks. Today I learned that Kate also has a nice sense of what colors will work well together. I walked in feeling mousy and left looking marvelous! The stylist did a wonderful job on my hair, however, she was extremely rough when it came to my eyebrows. As she went to wipe off excess wax, she used a very rough towel and wiped with a significant amount of force. This was the result. I had been to this location before and received a good haircut and was treated well. Not today. I had an appointment and showed up on time. When I got there a woman was trying to work through some mess up with her appointment. The person helping her said Please wait I will be cutting your hair have a seat. They went on and on for a total of 15 minutes. By this time I felt direspected for having made the appointment and being on time. I told her that I had told someone I had hoped to meet them in 5 minutes from the time she actually got around to helping me. My hair is easy to cut and should take 15 minutes. At this she looked pained and immediately went to the back. I got up and left. I understand wanting to help the other woman but when someone is waiting she could curtail the idel chit chat. I felt like my business didn't matter to her. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO THAT LOCATION. It is a SERVICE INDUSTRY, and if they can't treat it as such, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Haircuttery saves the day! I saw Brandy to re-do my ombre highlights and get a quick trim. She was amazing. She took the time to explain to me how they should have been done in the first place and did a GREAT job fixing them. Finally my hair looks how I wanted it to. On top of that, Brandy was super friendly and I had a wonderful time chatting with her. For nearly half of what I spent in my first failed attempt at ombre I got color, trim, a deep conditioning treatment, and style. My hair was soft and shiny when I left the salon as opposed to fried and brassy. So maybe they don't have amazing ambiance. Maybe you have to sit between an older gentleman getting a buzz cut and a three year old getting his first haircut but so what! I paid half, HALF, of what I paid at another salon and got ten times better results. Plus, I finally found my go-to stylist in Frederick. read more

I hadn't seen the review ahead of time (which I really try to read them, before I go places) I needed my eyebrows shaped/cleaned up, with a possibility of getting a haircut as well! I walked in, was greeted pleasantly, information entered into their computer (I live in IL, and all computer systems are connected!). Eyebrows looked awesome and had such a good chat with the gal, (Miranda), that I decided to get my hair trimmed as well! I needed to get a good vibe from the gal before I trusted her with my hair-and the trim turned into a cute hair cut! Price was amazing! I got the eyebrows done, shampoo, cut, style, and dry for $30! Came here a few months ago to get my eye brows waxed before a wedding, and the stylist ended up burning the area under my right brow and it got infected....I thought I would give the place another chance today and I was wrong. I walk in the the receptionist or whoever she was rude and didn't even take the time to add my name to the list. Ended up waiting for almost an hour until I actually had to go up and tell them that I had been waiting for a while...turns out I wasn't even on the list. It doesn't help that my cut is completely uneven and I left with my hair still dripping wet. It takes a lot to annoy me and today Hair Cuttery really ticked me off. I'll never be back nor with I ever recommend this place. We came in as walk-ins on a Saturday. When we drove into the lot, I saw Hair Cuttery promoting its walk-in availability on the electronic sign at the entrance to the parking area. We walked in and were told it would be a 20-minute wait; I had my daughters (aged 6 and 2) with me. The wait was okay because I knew it would be a bit busy on a Saturday afternoon. We waited...and waited...and waited. An employee kept telling us we were next, but other customers got serviced before us (maybe they had appointments?), and we waited and waited. The floor was terribly dirty; I put my purse down next to the chair I was seated in, and then when I picked it up, there was hair all over the bottom. My two-year-old kept wanting to sit down and play on the floor, but it was covered (no exaggeration) in hair. I also saw some of the stylists reusing items without sterilizing or washing them. None of the chair areas was clean, many of the chairs and stools were cracked or coming apart, and it was just really overall unclean. The magazines in the waiting area were all Cosmo, Glamour, etc. - no children's books, etc. Fortunately, I kept my children busy with our own toys. After 40 minutes, we left. We will not be coming back. If a salon promotes itself as walk-in friendly, it should be prepared (and there were plenty of staff available), keep its salon CLEAN (a simple sweep would have gone far), and not keep telling us to wait. And add a couple of children's books to the waiting area; there were at least three other similarly-aged children there and all seemed restless/bored. read more

No one was at the reception desk and there wasn't a sign up sheet visible. I waited for a couple minutes. The employees that walked past me and up to the reception desk completely ignored me. I had 3 pictures of a long Bob to refer to and after I got in my car to take a real look, I realized how badly my hair was botched! Cut all the way up to my chin in some places and down to my shoulders in other places.
