The hairdresser, Rachel told me she would be another 20 minutes longer with her current customer just after I arrived early for my 10:15AM scheduled appointment. Twenty minutes passed. No word from Rachel even though she was close to the front waiting area and we both had a clear view of each other. After 45 minutes passed from my 10:15 appointment, it was 11AM and I could tell she had more to do with this custome. I got up to ask her what's happening. After she claimed she would be 20 minutes longer at 10:10AM, she never said another word to me until I got up to say, it appears you're going to be a while longer? And she said yes, sorry and then asked the only other hairdresser there who just took a new client back to her chair, if she had any time, and of course she said "No". I then said I had to go and she said, I'm sorry. Very unprofessional. I had an important event and just needed a wash/blowout and had a scheduled appointment! I could have gone somewhere else or made other arrangements as I had to be in North Jersey by noon. Very disappointing. Will never go back. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Attached you will find the inspiration picture I showed my stylist and how I left. I came in, after being assured on the phone when booking that Kim (my stylist) was "very experienced" in lightening. In consultation, showed pictures of a copper with blonde highlights. Urged that a money piece around my face was very important. Asked for a trim plus bang trim. Wanted curtain bangs between my cheekbones and chin. Additionally, wanted to brighten the red in my hair already. Kim was very rude and pushy, but assured me we could accomplish to brighten the red, at least a money piece, and a SLIGHT TRIM. I left looking like a mushroom with bangs just covering my eyebrows, no visible highlights, and my red LESS VISIBLE. I expressed when checking out that nothing matched what I had asked for. Kim was at the front arguing with me saying that they had done MORE than I was being charged for. I was charged a partial highlight, single process color, and a haircut and blowdry. Additionally, she told me she wouldn't even have time to STYLE it the way I wanted. At first, they offered me a 10% discount off the partial highlight. I argued this was less than $10 off a $200+ total. They then gave me 20% off the highlight. I was feeling so defeated and there was no manager/owner to be seen. I left sobbing and cried my entire 35 minute drive home. I called the salon and was asking for a manager. The woman who had picked up the phone was none other than Kim, who had just ruined my hair and continued to argue with me. I told her I would've been happier to have nothing done to my hair at all. I was told the manager will be back Monday, and she will text her directly (I'm sure telling her own side of the story). This woman was rude and pushy and disregarding everything I had asked for. I personally am a licensed cosmetologist and have never had an experience THIS BAD. read more

I must say, I really like the Hair Cuttery. I have had everything done from color to cut to blow out, and I have always left pleased with the results. I have never had a wait longer than 5 minutes, but I must add that I do not work during the week, so I am able to go in when there are no crowds. These are the things that I love: Cheap, really good haircut. No hard sell on product purchasing. Quickly completed. I am normally in a hurry, and I do not enjoy a lengthy process. Frequent customer card, with bonus offers. I can recommend this establishment, I have never been disappointed. One time only, my hair was cut shorter than I would have liked, but the cut grew in nicely, so no harm, no foul. read more

The staff was friendly but slow. I felt kind of bad but my stylist who didn't know how to use clippers and it went down hill from there. She was nice but if you can't do a style just say you can't handle it. They were kind enough to drop the charge for the cut, but make sure you ask if they can do a style before sitting in a chair here. read more

Really happy with Hair Cuttery. I have been going now for a few years. Started up again after I paid $250 + tip across the parking lot at Bangz for cut color and partial highlights, this was about 4 years ago. Too much for me for something that was nothing really better than I had had for a lot less. Since then, I go to Hair Cuttery and get the same thing, same quality, for $90 + tip! I am grateful to come out looking great for a decent price. I do HIGHLY recommend Nancy. She is really good for both cut and color and a nice person! She is an exceptional listener and wise! She also suggested waxing my eyebrows which I have never had done and I'm really glad I did it. She said they needed cleaning up and she was right and she did it perfectly! Love the Hair Cuttery! I always have a great experience when I go there and have had everything done from cuts to color, blow-outs to waxing, I've really utilized their services. The stylists really listen to what you're interested in doing with your hair and work with you to achieve it. I've experimented with color and highlights and they always chose the perfect hues and tone to match my skin coloring, etc. Everyone who works there is nice and you can tell they're a team and get along very well. They're always chatting up their clients while they work and it comes easy - no forced, phony conversation. Yes, it's true that they don't offer appointments but I expect that when I go there. For me, I hand the kids over to my husband and head over, it's my time to hang out and know I'm going to leave with satisfying results. And honestly, I've gone to salons where I've made appointments and STILL had to wait, so it's not much different. There are obviously days/times that are going to be busier and you have to work around that. I noticed that some reviews complained that it's packed in there - umm, isn't that telling? Must mean they're doing something correct. Don't think I'd walk into an empty salon and trust those people with my looks. Just sayin'. read more

New Hope, PA location. My sister and I went tonight to get a trim. Online it says they close at 7pm so we went in at 5:30-5:35 and there's was 2 hair cutters sitting in chairs and two cleaning. We asked when they were closing and one woman said 6pm and goes we're pretty much closed....not taking anymore people. If you close at 6 and a trim takes 10-15mins at most then why couldn't we be seen? This isn't the first time we encountered such excuses! They don't take appointments and they don't use the check in machine on the weekends. The weekends would be the best time for the machine but apparently they don't use it for that. Their customer service is horrible with giving attitudes when you say you will sit and wait and calling over the phone asking if there is a wait! I will no longer be going here. If you have close at six and we walk in 25-30 mins before you close and you say you aren't seeing anymore people because your pretty much closed...THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and not good customer service at all! Update your hours to 5:30pm then! read more

The biggest disappointment about this place, is the fact that it doesn't offer appointments. Every time I go, it is packed, no matter what time I seem to choose. I have called them on my way there to get a feel for if it's busy or not, and I'm always told "no wait "... Sure enough when i get there, there is a significant wait anyway. As far as the job they do, it's average. I have only ever gotten a hair trim. Cheapest place in New Hope to get a hair cut though, so for that reason, I continue to go back. read more

I went here for a while regularly. It was cheap. Only reason. The job was average. I only had them trim, and would get highlights. Deal breaker for me was last month. I am a busy mom, and my husband had been working extra crazy long hours, so I didn't get time to get my hair done for a few months. It was overdue and I felt ugly. My husband knew this, and he surprised me one morning by announcing he was taking an early night so I could go get it done. I called that morning and asked what the latest I could come in, and be GUARANTEED to be seen for a trim and highlights was. I was told 6:30. I asked about making an appointment and was told, "No just come in. Not a problem". I got there at 6 and they said they wouldn't take me. I explained that I had called and was told if I was there by 6:30, I would be guaranteed to be seen. The girls had no empathy or even the slightest look of caring. They told me the wait was too long (there were 2 people sitting there), and had a basic "Oh well not my problem" attitude. This place is a 20 minute drive from my house, and I knew I couldn't make it anywhere else (that's walk-in) quick enough to be seen. I was devastated. Literally. I went to my car and cried. I was sooooo looking forward to getting my hair done. It may cost more to go to a nicer salon, but I am a believer. I will never go here again. They are rude. They don't honor their word. Their business ethic is a joke. I tell everyone I know not to go here. Not worth the savings in my opinion. read more

I take my children here for hair cuts, the girls are always polite. The first time I stopped in about 1.5 years ago there was a wait, I asked the girl that greeted me what we're good times without crowds and she was more then happy to share. I've been back several times and have not had to wait longer then 5-10 min. Reasonable prices for a children's cut, I personally have not had my hair cut here because I buzz my own hair at home. We typically go between 3-5pm on Sunday afternoons and it seems to be a slower period. read more

I am very disappointed with the Hair Cuttery my daughter went in there to get a trim the lady ended up cutting 4 inches off of my daughters hair my daughter was in tears. When I called and spoke to the manager Sharon, she didn't give any apology she didn't show any sign of compassion to what had happened,all she said was come in for a refund. I had the most awful experience with this salon. I called to see if I could bring my 91 year old mother over for a hair cut. She recently had a mini stroke and it was difficult to take her places so this was a big deal. I was told that the time would be fine. When I got there, I was told she would have a forty-five minute wait. I was flabbergasted. forty-five minutes to my mother is an eternity. The manager could care less. No kindness, no apologies. Mean, mean, mean. It is clear that the dear stylists are afraid of her. My mother was treated so badly that I cried (And I never cry). How would anyone like their mother to be treated like that?? I am telling everyone that I can - there is no place for hard -hearted attitudes like that in our community. Shame on the Hair Cuttery for have an employee like that!! read more

Poor experience and poor haircut. Acted like they were doing me a favor. Distracted during cutting resulting in one of the poorest haircuts I've ever had. They don't take appointments so you magically have to arrive at a time when no one else does! It is very frustrating, as this is now the fourth this has happened in the past couple months. I want to like this place, for the cost and the friendliness of everyone there. I used to get good cuts. But I"m afraid I"ll have to stop going, after a succession of bad experiences with a few different stylists. Again, they are the nicest people. But for some reason, they don't listen to what I want. The last few cuts I had there were the direct opposite of what I wanted. I wanted the length unchanged, they cut the length (by alot!). I said I wanted more cut off the top , they took NOTHING off the top. The first time I thought it was me, so I was more specific the second time, and even mores o the third. Each time I showed pictures of how I had my hair cut before, so it's not like I was reaching for the stars and asking for a cut that was impossible for me! It was MY former haircut! But each time they did the exact opposite of what I wanted, and I had to get it 'fixed' at another salon. I mentioned this to quite a few people and unfortunately they all had similar stories. The stylists there are so nice, and so personable. but again, I just cannot justify getting my hair cut once there and having to get it fixed somewhere else just because they are nice. read more
