I have been coming to this place for a while. My cousin used to work here so I would get my haircut from her even when she moved, I still came here. There has been no issue since until my recent haircut. I scheduled a last minute appointment with whoever was first available. My appointment was at 4 with Shirley. I didn't get sat in the chair until 4:35. I was very patient and understanding throughout the whole appointment. I told her I just wanted a TRIM, I said 3-4 inches with layers and face framing. She said because I was getting a trim and i have long hair that it will be an extra charge for the blowout which i said okay cause I understood that I have long thick hair. I could tell right away that she had no idea how to cut my hair. I have very thick black long hair, everytime i get a cut, they always say that i have thick hair but they handle it no problem. Shirley had no idea how to cut my hair, words can't describe the way my hair was yanked out of my head cause of the way she was trying to cut my hair. She didn't cut 3-4 inches she cut way more than that. My hair was cut a little bit below my shoulders. My face framing pieces look very very choppy. You could tell from my face i was disappointed. I paid and left. I later realized that I still paid that extra charge for the long hair blowout but my hair is not long at all anymore. So i called the salon and told them about the charge and that it's technically not correct anymore since she cut way more and the lady on the phone said that its considered long hair if it's 2 inches below my shoulder which makes no sense since that's not long hair at all. Overall, I am extremely extremely disappointed with this place. Dont go to Shirley if you have long thick hair cause she does not know how to deal with that type of hair. read more

I used to come here for my haircuts before the pandemic but things have changed with the prices. The service was nice but I was charged $29 for the signature cut. The website says a signature cut starts at $22. Now I know my hair is long but I literally went in to trim 2 inches off my hair, took all of 15 minutes of work (including the hair wash and check out). I'm still trying to understand this discrepancy but I feel like they were nickel and diming me. If you want to keep having business, maybe start having honest practices. read more

I booked a Value Package Single Color for $80. This same service I had done in a nearby salon just 12 weeks prior. The stylist that completed my color, I believe, was a newbie. She showed me samples of different hair color, I chose one, and then she asked me what I would like to do with the rest of my hair after doing my roots. When I told her I wanted it all over, she excused herself to check the computer again and then came back and stated that she had to charge me $20 more. This confused me as I had the same service at another Hair Cuttery and they didn't charge me any more for the package service. During the application, she kept watching another stylist apply color to another patron in the salon. It seems as she was trying to learn how to apply the color to my hair. Unfortunately, the application the other stylist was applying was a full foil, a completely different procedure from mine. I also noticed that during the application she did not take care to get the color on my skin. I have had other stylists wipe off color as soon as they got on my skin, this stylist did not and it stained my skin. As I was checking out, the stylist decided to charge even more for the services she 'provided'. She charged $140 for an $80 package that I had reserved a time to have. When I arrived home, my husband then noticed that there were spots in my hair that the color had either not been applied or that the color had not adhered. I have reached out to the salon, but with no return response. I will NOT be returning to this salon!! read more

Horrible experience when I returned the second time, my appointment was 10 and I walk in at 10:05, so I know I am late and they told me no spot available, and I can definitely understand that. So I have been told I am the next one since I am the only person waiting now and estimate waiting time would be 15 to 20 minutes. After 40 minutes, there are two men walked in, and I am 100% sure they don't have any appointments and the front desk just said :"oh, welcome back, I can take you." So those two men were both taken cared of while I was waiting me next turn. After that, I ask them what is going on, they told me your guy will come in at 11:00!! I just cannot believe, I don't have specific guy, so why I have to wait for him! May be because I am Asian and no one want to take me. Totally screwed up scheduling.Made me wait for one hour!. They told they can do the hair for both my little ones right then when we walked in the salon. After finishing the hair cut for one of my daughters, the stylist asked me to wAit so that he could squeeze in one of his appointments. We waited and waited. My 2.5 year old started getting cranky. And when he got done with his 1 hour long appointment with the other customer, I thought he would attend to us finally, right then he calls another customer and says he will attend to us after that.
