I left a message to schedule an appointment and Amy, the owner, texted me just to let me know she would call me later, so we didn't have to play phone tag. Great service!! When we did chat, she was super friendly and informative about the salon, as well as asked questions about what I was looking for. I arrived on time for my appointment and didn't wait at all to be greeted. Amy and I got along great, and Cassie, the assistant, who gave me my shampoo was friendly. I have curly hair, as does Amy, so I knew I was in good hands. She took me from limp split ends to gorgeous layered curls, and we had fun chatting. I did a lot of research before coming to Hotheadz. They were the best in Yelp reviews and I'm so glad that I tried them out, instead of a large name brand salon with mixed reviews. I called on a Monday, was scheduled for the next day with Ashley and was able to use a Facebook offer that they had for a free haircut with a color service. My hair was a mess when I walked in with over grown black roots and yellow ends, bumble bee-esque would probably nail it on the head. I walked out with a gorgeous shade of burgundy ombre hair with very light tips at the end. I love it. The blending of the ombre color is fantastic. The cut was equally great as well as Ashley styling my hair with beautiful waves in the back. I have naturally curly hair and she didn't take too much off. I will definitely be returning. The place is a bit cramped and a little hard to find but don't let that fool you. The quality of work, customer service and attention to detail is top notch. OK, this place is great! It's hip, it's trendy but better yet has some really awesome stylists!!! Now, I've only had my hair cut by Gina so this review is really more about her. For those of you who simply want the bottom line, if you need to look your best or simply want to (and who doesn't right ?!?!?!?), it will be hard to find someone better than Gina. Seriously, she comes with extensive experience from one of the big famous places and when I asked the other stylists there who did their hair, just about everyone if not all of them said Gina. It was on such high recommendations that I originally went to her and have been sold ever since! If you can't tell I'm a huge fan and highly recommend this place. I especially recommend Gina who specializes in haircuts, updo's, hair therapy, and extensions but can help with all of your "image" needs whether it be hair, makeup, or even wardrobe! Called me three hours before my appointment and said a stylist was in the hospital and they had to cancel my appointment (made weeks ago). I explained that while I was sorry someone was ill, I needed my hair done before my graduation next week. She was unable to fit me in today, tomorrow, or Saturday... but she could get me in Monday. I explained I had to work Monday, and her response was "Well, I can't get her out of the hospital, or hire someone new". I came to her with only a vague description of what I wanted & she worked wonders. I've been going to Tammy since & I highly recommend her. My highlights last long and always look great. Along with Tammy, there's Amy (another stylist) who's helped me schedule/re-schedule my appointments. Amy (and Hotheadz by extension) has been very flexible with scheduling and continuously goes the extra mile to ensure that I can get in when I need to. The assistant, Kassie is also very capable and helpful. Tammy, Amy, Kassie and the other customers create a positive, warm, and friendly environment. They saved my hair before my wedding! I dyed my hair the week of my wedding (I know, I waited too long). I went to Sorelle Salon thinking they would do a good job with my hair, but the girl did not listen to me and made my hair a very dull, almost grey color (I wanted ashy blonde). I lost all my confidence before my wedding and didn't know what to do with myself. I spotted Hotheadz on Yelp and decided to give them a try. How much worse could it get? I called them up and the woman on the phone was so sympathetic and understanding and was a great listener. She asked me questions, gave me answers, and told me honestly that they would try their best to fix the problem or at least improve the situation for me and my poor hair. I am so glad I went here... I have not been to the salon, so this review is strictly for Gina. Gina lives in the building I manage, and she started cutting my hair a few months ago when I struggled to grow it out from a short, stacked bob. Gina knows intuitively what you want even if you can't express it. I get more compliments on my hair since Gina began working with it. Yesterday, I told Gina I was frustrated with the bulk of my hair and wanted a new shape. She snipped and flicked and I now have the sexy, moving, bouncy hair I dream about! Came to visit Amy due to a friend's recommendation after her extensive research on a stylist that had experience with long, curly hair. I called Amy and advised her of my intention to donate my hair and asked for her suggestion as my research didn't leave me convinced of any one cause. After some conversation, I decided to donate it for use of patients suffering from alopecia. Amy was able to handle the submission of the donation, and I appreciated her involvement with the great cause. Have visited twice since and love the new cuts she provides, haven't left disappointed. I am SO happy to have finally found Michael. I've been in the area for the last year and have bounced around from stylist to stylist, never finding what I wanted. With Michael, I got the whole package - someone who listens to what I want, is honest about my hair and what he thinks I should do, is easy to talk to, and who is just fun to be with. The price was right, too - what I expected to pay for a good cut and color, but not excessive and didn't feel cheap. The family at HotHeadz is great, too! Been pondering coming here for a while because it's more expensive than other places but the reviews were too good to ignore so I decided to save a little and come here. First off. It's true that the ladies here are super friendly and Tammy is a great! colorist. Love her and so happy with my hair! The only thing that didn't make it 5 stars was I feel a little taken advantage of money wise. I know I have long hair but I literally got a trim that didn't take more than 5 minutes and it cost $75. I can understand if there was more to it like adding layers and what not but it was literally just a small clean up. I've gone to places that have charged me $40 for a full on cut. So probably won't do cuts here again but they sure know how to color! and that is what I will come back for. Overall good experience. Just that little detail that bothered me a bit. My friend Kelly has been going to Leslie Knuth for quite some time now. However, when Kelly started posting pictures of her new Victoria Beckham like haircut on Facebook, we were all floored. She looked so cute and it was such a departure for her. We were so proud that Kelly got this really modern, edgy cut. That was it -I was convinced! Seeing Kelly's transformation reminded me that I had become too conservative. I was forgetting my inner 80s diva from my childhood. Plus, I had just attended a Rihanna concert and was really inspired by her "bad girl" attitude and hairstyle! I happened to be in the area so I turned up my Lady Gaga CD and jetted over to make an appointment with Leslie right away. Let me tell you: she does not disappoint. First, she is really knowledgeable about what cut looks good on your face. She is very down to earth and honest, and she will tell you if something is not possible with your hair type or texture. After a lengthy discussion of what my hair had been through ( color wise) and showing her lots of pictures of what I wanted to achieve, she gave me a really cool and modern style. I feel like a new person! After seeing how great Kelly's hair looks, and now my hair -I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone who asks. She is truly a talented person! The salon is really cute too. It has a very modern IKEA-esque decor, but has a warmth to it. Amy has gone above and beyond for me so many times, not just with what she does to my actual hair but fitting me in to her schedule at times. I went to see Leslie..what a professional whom loves her job. She was very friendly (opposed to snotty) and was a listener to what I wanted for my hair. I have very thick and wavy hair, so if it's cut wrong it can be choppy and hard to manage. She did a wonderful job, I even waited longer than normal for a follow up cut but the style held and worked well for my hair. The second time I seen her, she treated me like an old friend and still worked her magic. I will be a longtime customer and highly recommend this place. Let me tell you I did not get upset or even looked for another place to accommodate me, you know why. I have been to Hot Headz once, but plan on making this my go to salon. The staff is really laid back and easy to talk to, and Amy did a great job with my hair. The only thing I wish they did differently was provide more suggestions on how to cut my hair, but I understand it was only my first visit and probably didn't want to scare me away. I asked Amy how to curl my hair (because I'm awful at it) and she gladly did it for me. She's so nice!!! I will be going back soon and will hopefully get some more good advice from Amy! read more

This is the friendliest, warmest place not only to get your hair done but to have a great time with great conversation.
