She is on portable oxygen and loosing her hair. She was very concerned about having her hair cut, much less shampooed and styled. On a Sunday at the Hair Cuttery, Anna took wonderful care of Mom. Came here on a whim because I ran out of time to go to my usual salon & wanted to get a quick trim before attending an event the next day. Was greeted immediately by a very nice lady named Lena?Lana?Lulu?; not exactly sure but her name definitely starts with an L, lol. She took me right away. My hair was shampooed & conditioned & I was given a little scalp massage. I found it very clever that they advertise on the ceiling so when you're reclined in the shampoo chair you see it. I got a trim and blow out & my stylist was very precise in what she did & she made sure she was doing my hair completely to my liking. She was very nice and made easy conversation. During the pandemic this location closed for a short time which they moved to another Hair Cuttery location. Went there and was told they don't offer Military Discount on weekends, so guess solders are only recognized on weekdays. A haircut cost $33 not including tip. I left $5. They didn't even ask to wash my hair. At Roosters they recognize soldiers every day of the week and also wash your hair. All for less money. Haircut ok but not worth it. I will not be going back and by the comments from the manager he doesn't care. I served 23 years on active duty and that included serving on weekends. It's sad the Hair Cuttery doesn't feel the same way. read more

The haircut overall was good, however, I always ask for a buzz cut using number four for my entire head, and she didn't do that. She used it a very little bit and then she used her scissors for much of the rest of my hair. Though the final product was okay, I'm used to a buzz cut and a shampoo and being in and out within about 20 minutes. It was 50 minutes that I was there for my haircut and shampoo and it was not exactly what I requested. Again, the haircut was fine and it was the length I wanted, but the method of getting there was longer than I had planned to be at this shop. My stylist also was coughing and sneezing and even though she wore a mask, it wasn't an n95 to protect me from her germs. This is not the regular hair Cuttery that I normally go to, but in a pinch I tried this one. Probably won't be back because time is money and I didn't have 1 hour to spend at this location. Also, there weren't a lot of stylist working. There were only three and one had a regular client and the other had a client with more needs in her chair. That left this lady and when I got there there was already a 15-minute wait. I understand that you can't know when there will be a lot of people coming in for haircuts, but I've never had that issue anywhere else. read more

I travel from Ashburn Virginia to this location every few months, bypassing several other locations near me, because of the stylist Kim I have been going to for years first at Reston and when that location closed to Vienna. I don't have to explain what needs to be done, she calls to remind me, and she is very careful given covid to make sure I am safe. He is very amicable, courteous, respectful and knows his trade, however the shop seems to have a hostile environment, when paying this older female stylist pushed Leo away from the cash register and said something in her language that seem derogatory. He had to finish taking care of my payment after she got done with her transaction. I will be back, Leo is my hair stylist even though I drive from Crosspointe, lorton that is a bit far. read more

The attendant claimed that "thick hair" cost more than straight hair. This is clearly a racial issue. The woman looked at My daughter's complexion and said the price goes up for "curly" hair. Hair is far from curly. I would never recommend this place to woman with full/thick hair or ethnic. This was the first racist experience. I will call corporate on this one. read more

Really bad experience. I asked for layers and to not touch the length, but left with my hair above my shoulders. It's so short now. My face was also sprayed with water because it slipped? I just came back from the Hair Cuttery on Branch Rd. in Vienna, Virginia. This is the first time in many years that I went to a Hair Cuttery for a cut & color - I also ended up getting cap highlights. I am delighted, so very delighted with my experience today with my outstanding hairdresser, TINA! I almost do not want to rave about her because I want to make sure I can always get in when I want to. I decided to go in 30 minutes early and she was able to take me early. The salon was very clean and the hairdressers all seemed very friendly and they were professionally dressed. Tina was outstanding. She gave me excellent advice as to the selection of color and level of highlights. She was very sweet and very thorough/detail oriented. She knows her stuff. Her actions and expression made me feel special and I could tell she cared about her work and my appearance. . I live in Annandale and there are many many hair salons within a 3 mile radius- but their work is not as good, and their prices are much higher than the ones at Hair Cuttery on Branch Road! Previously I had gone to a hair salon in McLean and paid $65 more for the same services I received today, and my hair did not look nearly as good. You cannot beat a GREAT haircut for only $19, and a coupon for the next service! This is my new hair salon and Tina my favorite hairdresser. read more

Hi, I wanted to give you an update on my experience at the Hair Cuttery on Branch Avenue in Vienna, Virginia. I have been going to Tina ever since that very first time I wrote my interview and I am still so happy and very pleased with her work. I have short layered hair and I go to her every month for a color, cut, and style; and every other month for highlights, too. Tina is one of the best and nicest hair stylist I have ever been to. She is very thorough and you can tell by her posture and concentration that she really cares. She takes my hair small section by section to color and cut and at the end she tidies up loose hairs that are out of place. With Tina it's not 10 snips and you're done. She is meticulous and detailed in her work - something I so appreciate. I do not know much about the other stylists there, but I can tell you Tina is fantastic. After my hair treatment with Tina, I usually go to the Fresh Market grocery store right next-door to pick up a few things. So, for me it's a win-win! read more

Decided to come in for a simple haircut and wash, but decided to run out of there based solely on service. There were 2 stylist busy with clients and when one noticed me she signaled another stylist I couldn't see behind the counter. She walked up to the computer and didn't even make eye contact with me or greet me in anyway. As she was tapping away in the computer one of the other stylist finished up with her client and assisted on the computer. She kindly asked the sour stylist if she could please take me up as a client, and in front of me shook her head no! I felt bad for the stylist who tried to help me (she apologized for the sour stylist's behavior, saying she "wasn't feeling well"), but I was NOT going to give this place any of my money with that type of attitude. Stay away from here! I am unspeakably angry after getting a haircut. I showed her 5 pictures of the style I wanted -- an easy-care style (long layers, long bangs, longer in back) and told Anna that I had to be able to pull my hair up off my neck for physical therapy. I even put in two bungee bands at the length I needed it to be - the lower one was 8 inches below my hairline at the back of the neck. I said no shorter than that one. She cut it off below the lower band, then proceeded to cut another 6 inches off! Well, I know now why they start at the back and keep pushing your head down...so you can't see what they're doing until it's too late! I told her 3 times that she was cutting it too short, and she just said, I'm making it even...yeah, sure, she made it all even with the SHORTEST cut!! My hair is now so short I can't put it in a ponytail, it is much shorter in back than in front, and I can't even wrap it around a curler -- FAR FROM EASY-CARE! It is more a wedge-style than long layers. Now it's so short, and so unevenly cut it will be YEARS before it grows out enough to do anything like I wanted. My hair was below my waist - now it's barely below my neck. If you want to have a say in how you look, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! read more

I had a horrible experience at this Hair cuttery location. I've gone to many different Hair cuttery locations and have never had such a terrible color and cut by Anna. I am a light blonde. I asked for a dark blonde. She colored it dark brown with red in it. She also cut my bangs crooked. Everyone at my job laughed at me. So, I went back to speak to a manager. The manager, Farrah, assured me that she would fix on Monday for me. However, I arrived there today to find out that I had no appointment and was told that I lied about what Anna did to me. This Hair Cuttery in Vienna hasn't been there for very long, but it was recommended to me and Sunny Seo was the stylist that the walk-in lottery (I was in "wing-it" mode) provided me. Seriously, as she approached me her smile really did give me that much needed "initial confidence" required to keep from bolting for the door. I actually showed her an older picture of myself off my iPhone and she smiled again and simply said, "okay!" That was it... when all was said and done, the haircut was one of my best ever. You know, you leave and people that you don't even know say, "hey there handsome!"
