It seems like multiple hairdressers here have individual Yelp pages, so the salon might just be a venue to host their services (?). Given the current COVID situation, Martha's salon enforces mask wearing and social distancing between clients. I definitely felt more reassured that safety measures were in place. Apparently San Mateo county has permitted hair salons to open for the past month, but I think most folks aren't aware of this... I felt like I stumbled upon a secret. My haircut was $75, but so worth it. Martha's professionalism and attention to detail is impeccable. Though my hair was so overgrown I couldn't recall the last time I cut it (maybe... a full calendar year ago... it's a mystery), she hacked through the mess and pared it down to the most silky, feathery layers within the hour. Every now and then, she'd check in with me about the length and style, ensuring that I was happy with the progress. I genuinely appreciated the time and care she devotes to her clients! OK I love her. So I'm biased…read more I met Natasha a good four years ago, through a Yelp review. I had been on a serious hunt for a a great hairdresser and she happened to be close to my workplace. I have never strayed from Natasha (unless you count me trimming my bangs once in awhile. I get lazy). Not only is she amazing and only uses the top stuff (scissors, hair product, attitude) but she's great to talk to. To date, Natasha has been through three of my jobs and four ex boyfriends and have helped me navigate through all of successfully (I'm not kidding). Haircuts are relaxing and go by so fast when we have so much to catch up on. In all seriousness, my haircuts last for at least 4 months. I always get long layers and the haircut gets better as time goes on. I always joke with Natasha that she shouldn't make her haircuts last so long but I know she can't do anything less than the best. I've had short hair, long hair, blunt bangs, long bangs, bangs to the side; everything has worked out for the best. I've done highlighting with her as well and it looks great even when its grown out (I am lazy. again.). I liked it so much that I did it again recently. Last time I came in, we were the last ones there at around 8 PM. She was so sweet, not only squeezing me in when I requested an appointment a week prior, but she also stayed late! All in all, always a great time. My long hair haircuts come out to about $80 which, I think, is a great deal if you think its about $20 a month. Coloring and haircuts come out to about $225 (I think it's dependent on hair length and craziness of coloring). I've recommended her to friends and they have become faithful customers too!

Update with lighting:…read more i am disappointed with the blotchy results I came in for a bleach partial babylight touch up service to an ashy level ten, and left with patchy, uneven results with visible hotspots and areas where the bleach overlapped so that caused breakage. I gave the stylist a chance to make it right. She initially offered a redo or refund if I removed my review, but then left me on read and didn't followed through. I asked if she wanted me to come back or just refund me, and got ghosted instead. She also did slices instead of babylights, which are small weaves; she did not feather the bleach. I even told her the formula I used, 10T, 10P, and 10V. When she combed through my hair, she used a wide tooth comb, but she tugged from the roots instead of the ends and whole chunks of hair just came out. I told her her to not brush so hard and she deflected it with, "it's is your scale sensitive?" No, you're a licensed hair dresser, we both know you aren't suppose to do that. When I went home, there was still bleach powder in my hair, which I had to wash rinse out. If you care about your hair health, transparency, or integrity, I wouldn't recommend coming here. See the attached photo for what I was left with. The ashy bottom is what I initially had, the yellowish areas were the touches up parts.
