I left a message but no one called me back :( Called back the next day and was able to schedule an appointment for 3 pm. Arrived a few minutes early and was instructed that the stylist was running 15 minutes behind. Well I didn't actually get to the sink for my hair to be washed for ~30 minutes. In general, I enjoy the hair washing as it usually involves a nice head massage and is relaxing. Well this was FAR from relaxing. I felt like she was clawing my scalp with her nails, thankfully it only lasted a few minutes! Finally, I met with the stylist and told her I would like to keep the majority of my length but to cut it so that it was healthy. She was very receptive to my request and before she would cut more she asked if it was ok. So the cut went well. She asked if I wanted my hair "straight straight" or "straight with body". I opted for "straight straight" but the blow out fell a bit...well...flat. I think next time I require a hair cut I will seek my regular stylist.

She was so kind and gave me some products that has been so helpful with giving my hair more volume. After kids my hair and curls went flat and thin. The products are pretty great honestly. Also, fear of scissor-happy hairdressers who take off too much hair and don't listen to your wants and needs. You may ask, "Why Mandi, what caused you to get haircutophobia?" I'll tell you a story. I was four, and I had lovely long, long, curls. My older brother was growing bored of cutting the hair of his teddy bear, so he thought it would be wise to attempt his newfound skills on his kid sister. Guess who started kindergarten that year with an awful bowl haircut to her ears? Yep. This girl. Sigh. As such, ever since that fateful day, my quest for the perfect hairdresser has been on. I realized I had bookmarked this place some time ago, and with an upcoming vacation I decided to call. I asked the receptionist who she recommended for long hair, and she said "Michael". Conveniently, he was available for an appointment the following day at 10:30 am. I came in this morning and met Michael, who recognized me from Sephora days, and I recognized him as well. We were off to a great start, and I immediately felt comfortable. He talked to me about what I wanted and we had our game plan. This is the first time ever at a salon that the person who cut my hair, also washed and blew out my hair. I was VERY impressed with this, as many salons will have one person shampoo you, then you get your haircut, and sometimes another person will blow out your hair. I have A LOT of hair, and I knew it can be a pain to have to blow dry but Michael loved it and said it was one of his favorite parts of doing hair. Umm...then wouldja mind coming by my place every a.m. to do it? Pretty please? I never felt rushed and the total time spent from start to finish was about an hour and fifteen minutes. Michael gave me an AMAZING haircut, I feel like a total superstar. Watch out, Beyoncè! Mandi's in town! This is one of the best, if not THE best, hair cut I have ever had. I've received many compliments already, my parents loved it, the boy loves it, I love it. And as an added bonus, I ran into a few people that I hadn't seen in a very long time at Target afterwards looking fab-u-lous. Don't ya just love that feeling? I'm very picky about who I let color my hair because it's very porous and fine and I'm happy to say I'll be returning whenever I'm in town!! Nina did an amazing job and sat there and listened to all my hair stories to find out just exactly what I like. My hair came out great, just how I asked, and even offered for her to lighten it up if it turns out to be too dark or anything! And not only that but for everything she did and so well her pricing is amazing.
