I would drive myself down to Buford Hwy. in Doraville, Georgia, to talk to my stylist Brian about all my high school drama. Now, I sit down in his chair to take about raising our children in capable adults as we catch up on each other's lives. I cheated on him for a while at another salon that I shall not name, but I'm back now. He fixed the other salon's mishap and I haven't looked back. He's cut my hair, bleached my hair, and toned my hair to my heart's desires and I will never leave my hair to another ever again. Brian's is an artist. He always listens to what I want and we discuss the results that I want. He knows me well, so if ask for something out of the ordinary, he makes sure that I understand what I'm asking for. I mistook another salon for this place and got a terribly botched cut. The other salon (hair talk on peachtree industrial) did not cut the hair like my photo at all. I was on the verge of tears! So I quickly made an appointment to fix my cut with Joseph on the same day. I was so happy with how he fixed it! He is very professional and takes his time cutting hair. He definitely knows what he's doing. He even gave me a bit of knowledge in hair cutting, how everyone's hair cut should complement the shape of their face and head shape. It seems like he used to cut Korean celebrities' hair before he relocated to Atlanta. Definitely recommend this place :) It seems it's about $30-35 for a cut here. I just moved here to Duluth recently and haven't found a hair stylist I've been satisfied with until today. I really enjoyed my visit with Brian. I called in day of to get a hair cut. Brian was very professional and made time for me later in the evening. He immediately sat me when I walked in, gave me a full consultation in my seat. He took the time to listen to what I wanted from my cut today. After he confirmed the length, style and price, he guided me to shampoo my hair and start my hair cut. The appointment approx took 45 mins. Brian took his time for both the cut and the blow dry. Once he was completely done, he double checked to make sure I was satisfied. AND rechecked all lengths to make sure he had perfected the cut. I really appreciated this attention to detail. I recommend Brian for cuts and who ever comes to make sure you tell Brian in detail what you want. He will definitely listen ! read more

Joseph, the hair designer is very good at haircuts. I've been seeing him for haircuts and color for more than two years since I came to Atlanta. He knows how to draw the best hair cut for each individual. The salon has nice and warm atmosphere. One thing is that they are a little pricey, but compared to the good service and output, I am very satisfied. They occcasionally send out coupons for their customers. Joseph speaks English and all of the staffs do too. I recommend this place. read more

I am very very picky about my hair and I will make sure to read reviews and see the hairstylist work before making an appointment. Brian was amazing! You can tell he knows hair he himself has amazing hair! He was very flexible with my schedule and if there were any cancellations he went out of his way to call and ask me if that time was more convenient for me. He is also very professional, he asked questions about what I wanted and showed me pictures. -- Don't let the other comments make you think twice I'm not sure about the history, however I got my hair done by him he did an amazing job! I have been going to see Joseph for over 7 years now and he is wonderful! I recently just got a straight perm and absolutely love it. He has done cuts, curly perms, straight perms, color, conditioning treatments and all have come out great. Joseph is very sincere & kind and really cares about how your hair comes out. I went to this place the other day to get my haircut and he argued and yelled at me for not having enough knowledge on my hair and style. wth?? I went into Hair InStyle Salon after seeing the amazing job they did with my mom's hair. She got a perm and color, and her hair looked so soft, so natural. And she looked so much younger! She said it was a bit more expensive than the average Korean hair salon but definitely worth it. So I made an appointment for a Wednesday afternoon. It was an easy drive through Johns Creek. The place was simple, classy, and small. They didn't have advertisement posters plastered everywhere. They didn't offer beauty services like eyelash extensions and whatever like so many Korean salons. There weren't TVs around blasting K-pop. They did play fun Korean songs from the TV show or "I'm A Singer". The guy who runs the place looks like a hipster, and it's evident his taste differs a bit from the usual Korean hair salon owners who are ahjummas in their 50s. The salon also seemed more appointment-based than most Korean hair salons where a lot of people just walk in. There was a steady stream of customers during the 3.5 hours I was there for a wave perm, hair cut, and color. Even with the magazines, my Kindle, and the talkative assistant, I was bored out of my mind. The dude next to me was working on his laptop the entire time, so I'm guessing they have free wifi. I love the way my hair turned out-- my co-workers and friends have complimented me on how natural and pretty it looks. I also liked that the hair dresser didn't give me crap for being so low maintenance or try to upsell products and services. The VIP card is a very nice touch. It works pretty much like the CVS extracare card. You receive 5% back every time as "bonus" dollars, and once you have more than $10, you can use it any time. They are very lax about family members sharing VIP cards, so it's easy to earn and use the points (just make sure you agree on who gets the points XD ) read more

I am from Las Vegas but spent the last several months in Duluth. I badly needed a trim but I'm very skeptical about trying new hair stylists out. I eventually settled and came here based on a recommendation from my mom (who has very different style than me, but always sports well done haircuts). The main stylist (only stylist?) here is Brian Cho. He is AMAZING. Not kidding, he gave me one of the best hair cuts I've ever gotten. My hair looked bouncier and shinier not only the day of the cut, but all the way until my next cut. Sooooo, to me this means it's because of the way he cut it rather than just a bunch of hair products and styling. And the prices are super good-- not sure how much haircuts usually cost in Duluth, but in Vegas they're usually $55+. At HairInstyle they're less expensive than that but I walk out looking like I got a $200 haircut. Not even exaggerating. I literally get compliments on my hair ALL THE TIME now. Anyway, I've gotten probably 3 haircuts from him at this point and he is consistently amazing. I'm heading back to Las Vegas, but will definitely be scheduling appointments with him when I come visit family here every few months. I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

I've been going to Hair In Style since it has opened because I love how Joseph cuts/styles my hair. However, I can't say the same for the new owner. I got a haircut with the new owner and he totally messed up my haircut. He didn't really follow what I had asked for and I had to try and cut my own hair at home to fix the mess. I will definitely make my way back to Joseph. I also heard rumors saying Joseph has left the country but that in fact is not true either. read more

I've been going to Brian for years to get my hair straightened and cut; He does wonderful work. He did my hair for my wedding (which was on a boat in Florida), and it was so beautiful, lots of movement, great color and NO frizz. People mentioned my hair when discussing the wedding--months later. Great work. read more

This location has been sold and closed. Previous owner, who were fabulous has opened another business near Alpharetta or something. New person who took over, boy, do not waste your time and money. He told me that he is as good as Joseph - yeah, right. Never going back there again read more
