Hope is the type of stylist you rarely come across. I came in for root color and realized the next day that some of my grays hadn't fully taken. She kindly scheduled me for her next available appointment, and when the first complimentary touch-up still didn't fully cover a few stubborn grays, she immediately went back in with a darker color and let it process longer to make sure they were covered. What I appreciate most is that she won't gaslight you or pretend something looks good when it doesn't. She's honest, thorough, and genuinely wants you to leave happy. Cynthia did such a great job! I asked for a long Bob with face framing layers, and she did exactly as I requested. I also asked her not to use the razor too much, which she obliged. After a few days I can say I love my hair cut, I've been able to put it up or down and style it and the cut works, very functional. The owner bleached our roots and left us sitting there with the bleach for more than two hours. Never once checks on us because she is too busy working on other walk-in customers! The hair salon only has one hairdresser. The hairdresser also talked bad about us in Korean! She rushed to do our hair she didn't section the hair correctly which led to uneven hair color. I paid 370 for a hair done which my friend and I can do ourselves at home. When I told her why my hair was uneven color. She laughs and gives us an attitude trying to make it seem like I'm stupid saying "I can't do color evenly and you're too picky" and keeps giving me an attitude and being rude. If you can't do color evenly should've told me. My friend and I would go back to our old hair salon pika pika in Duluth they could do the color evenly. Maybe go take some manners class and be nice to your customers and an apology I would let this go but the owner is threatening me. Perm $360 I had a perm appointment with Nou and I shared images of what I wanted. I said I want curtain bangs and liked the loose curls. She says that's a blowout and is achieved just by styling. She never informed me if a perm was not necessary or recommended the appropriate service(s) that I should do to achieve what I wanted. I was not adamant about having to get a perm, yet our consultation was her talking about perm maintenance and looking at her perm work. The consultation insinuated that a perm was needed for the end result and she mentioned the permed hair can be styled like my images. We come across one previous perm job and she explains how it was done. She recommended using smaller curl rolls which will make the curls tighter and last longer than bigger curl rolls. Though I was not too concerned about that since I never asked, I assumed that she valued perm longevity and that was her best intentions. I told her about my previous perms, coloring, highlighting, and treatments to assist her in assessing how to handle my hair. I figured that she would also value hair health and advise whether the perm she showed should be pursued or make adjustments catering the conditions of my hair. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the end result. Nou was aware of my dissatisfaction since the curls were so coiled and she did not give me the curtain bangs until I reminded her since my bangs were also coiled. She says a relaxer would help loosen the curls but never mentioned it would be an extra charge. It seemed like the images I've shown and what I have requested were no longer taken into consideration. But why ask what I wanted and completely deviate/disregard that? After the relaxer, I asked if she could style my hair like the pictures since she said so during the consultation but she said it would just ruin the perm right now. So I just paid and left. My hair has matted once dried and show extensive damage. It does not reflect the quality of what I paid for nor meet the quality of the her work example shown. I understand that perming will result in damaged hair and dryness/lighting will alter the appearance but my issue is the severity of damage is the result of your recommendation to use smaller curls despite your knowledge of my hair's condition. Frankly, I believe this dilemma could have been avoided if there was transparency during our consultation. I am a client consulting you on regards to a style I wanted. I trust in your expertise that you would know what would have been the most appropriate service to provide in order to maintain the integrity of my requests. I also assumed as a professional, you would value hair health and advise for best results. The purpose of the consultation was me communicating what my expectations are and whether you can deliver the results based on your experience and skills. My dissatisfaction with the end result is a product of your poor judgement to assess, advise, and accommodate my verbal and visual expectations from our consultation. You suggested I come again to relax the curls if I was still unsatisfied but I will have to decline that since the first service was poorly executed. I feel like it should have been disclosed if a perm was not necessary, perming was the proper service to recommend, or inform what the appropriate service would achieve my desired look. Afterwards, I sought advice from other stylists and they all said a setting perm would have given me the results I wanted and that this was a botched perm job. It's unfortunate that you proclaim being a perm specialist yet do not inform your clients of your perm service's limitations and be transparent if your perming skills will achieve what I've stated the very second you asked what I wanted. I would've much preferred if you had informed me that what I wanted could not be achieved through your perm services and either suggest an alternative service that would or decline to proceed. I believe there should be a level of ownership on your part because this is your work, your recommendation, and your execution. read more

My haircut with included hair wash was fine; however, I had to flag my hairdresser back once I noticed that the length of my ends were lopsided. EDIT: 07/23/2022 I've given you an explanation as to why I complained. And you've seen the photos of her hair the day of! Summer you did her hair, u knew what was wrong. If you're going to go back and forth from apologizing to someone in private and then speaking like this in your reply to the review, at-least act a little more sincere in your apologies. Also you DID NOT offer her nor tell her to book another appointment until after I came and complained. If I never said anything, you would have continued on with your life like normal. It's all about the principle of the matter. You should've came up with a resolution before she paid and walked out of your shop. It is upsetting that you feel like I wanted you to do her hair for free when I appreciated you and recommended you to so many people but oh? Now I "want free hair color" ?? The dispute is only the refund for the $300 you swiped on her card but you fail to acknowledge that she also tipped you $60 in cash, even when she didn't like her hair, because she felt bad for you. Lastly, I sent you pics of the dispute stating it is still in progress, it all says TEMPORARY credit. I wanted the dispute to close before we did any thing further because a temporary credit was given to her a week after she made the dispute, and then the credit was taken away. Please if you're going to accuse us, speak with factual evidence and do not just assume because you're upset with us. Pleasee and I mean PLEASE be extra careful in communicating with your clients before bleaching/ coloring their hair. I requested a silver-ish white color and asked if that was possible, considering my hair was purple and my roots were outgrown. My stylist Summer says okay and begins the process. After the first bleach, she states there were hints of pink in my hair so she's unable to get my hair to the silver/white I desired. She suggests to change my color to a pink and I'm like sure, that's fine with me. By the second bleach, another stylist enters (forgot to ask her name) and begins to help Summer in bleaching my hair. At this point, the roots were a nice blonde and the purple was lighter. but still apparent. I assumed they'd bleach the purple part once more, but then unexpectedly, I am directed to enter the washing station. The other stylist washed my hair, and says "it's ruined" in korean repeatedly. then Summer comes by and exchanges a few words, insinuating it's okay. My hair was dried and then she mixes a creme solution and applies it to my hair. About a minute or so, the solution reacts and begins to turn red-ish pink. They washed/dryed my hair once more after and while mid- drying, Summer asks if I like my hair. I state that I still see the purple in my hair and it's not really that pink. She says that this pink goes together with the purple and it'll blend when dry. I am a bit at lost for words because I can see the different shades in my hair, but she says because my hair is so dead, she's unable to take the original color out completely... ma'am you should've stated this in the beginning! I wouldn't have continued with the hair coloring and paid for the trim already given. She then says there is some parts that's a bit dark on the inside of my hair and I'm thinking okay if people aren't able to see it, I'll deal with it. Because from the front view and what I can see in the mirror, I was willing enough to just pay for the service and leave. My total was $300 and I tipped $60 in the end. I was okay with everything until I came home. My family reacted well to my hair.. until I turned around. Patches of yellow, purple, pink, brown all mixed up and I was mortified. I wondered why they never shown me the back of my head when they were finished, but now I knew why the stylist reacted how she did when washing my hair. I was understanding about the differences in pink in the front but this was inexcusable. Other than the poor work done on my hair, please be more self-aware when it comes to your customer service. Regardless if you are speaking in English or Korean, I expected a certain level of courtesy. Just because I don't "appear" to understand Korean, this doesn't allow you to constantly complain about your workload and then other customers. I get that you're tired and it's alot to do alone but please, you're still getting paid for the service. I came in with nothing but love and respect for Summer since she was repeatedly recommended by my sister, however this experience was something else. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was an off day for her. read more
