It was the worst haircut I ever had. They never even showed up for my 10 am appointment and I waited over 20 minutes for someone to show up to the closed building. Tried texting the person who made the appointment and she never responded back with a sorry I am late or can not make it. Nothing professional about these awful hairstylists. Do not even bother coming to this place ran by junkies who forget what time it is. I guess their name fits real well as they are junk on responding or showing up. Picked this place on a whim when I saw a mention that you could write on a wall. I called and spoke to Therisa, who informed me they took walk-ins. "I'm the one with the pink hair." On my way! I can't say enough good things about this place. As the namesake would suggest, the theme is very automotive and eccentric. Absolutely love it! I was informed the owner is the artist, a labor of love. A 7 and 9 year old were completely mesmerized, couldn't stop pointing out all the cool stuff. There's a huge chalk wall in the back lounge area, artwork, robots and cool stuff to discover in every nook and cranny. What a gem this place is. The staff here was absolutely amazing and friendly! Therisa did an amazing job on my 9 year old's haircut, the best he's had yet. Usually, for him a haircut isn't pleasant.... but Therisa changed all that. He couldn't help but smile when she was done. How awesome is that. The price of the haircut was $10, so I definitely didn't mind tipping! What a great deal! I came during the middle of the day, so parking was a breeze. Their location is a stone's throw to PLU, walking distance to coffee shops, PLU bookstore and eateries. If I haven't mentioned how awesome this experience yet, let me convey this further. I was willing to be forgiving of not having my hair colored like the pic I showed,because,often times,miscommunications arrise....but I could NOT forgive the uuuu haircut I got. I called and left a voicemail on Thursday and that evening she called me back and I was able to schedule something for Monday. Keep in mind, it's the middle of December and shes slammed and she still was able to get me (a new client) in! To top it off, my sitter canceled and I brought my daughter who is very clingy. So I went in there with a scheduled bleach apt.. but same day i changed my mind wanted red with hint of .black similar to a hair ap I had used I showed her a picture... she was very confident she could do it. Which gave me the confidence in her as well. I was very nervous because my hair is 100%my looks. Still i wanted a change. I hated it at first. Everybody else loved it enough to make me like it. I have very curly hair so I always get it styled straight after a hair apt. When she was done straighting it, it looked good. She told me dont wash it much, I was like why? She said well its red it will wash out. I waited the recommended amount of days to wash 4 and just enjoyed it straight ... I even used cold water.... as i dried my hair I was dripping redish all over ... so now.. I am just restraightning it as much as possible keeping color... I would recommend her to anyone that's had bad experiences in the past. After moving to Washington, I bounced from salon to salon, hoping to find someone I liked as much as my hair dresser in California. Three years. It took me THREE YEARS to finally find Dee. Needless to say, I'm a tad picky. I don't color my hair so I've only gotten it cut but every time it has turned out great. I pay $35 per cut (my hair is fine, I think thicker hair may cost more), which is a freaking steal. Dee will tell you exactly what she's doing when she styles it so you can do it yourself at home. Never any pressure to buy product (although she will tell you about stuff you can get and whether or not she thinks it's worth it). Last time I was there I brought my newest baby (brand, brand new, like eight weeks old) and I think I actually breast fed her while I was in the chair. Normally I feel weird nursing in public but I didn't feel judged or uncomfortable, which is kind of a big deal for me. The area is really cute and reminds me a lot of Portland. There is no private lot, only on street parking though, which does kind of blow. There is a school lot right next door. Yeah, don't park there. :-| There are NINETEEN other reviews, all positive, screened out by Yelp. I have no idea why. You just gotta trust everyone that's reviewed this place. It's great! read more

Additionally, my entire family goes to see her (wife and both kids). I started seeing the owner, Dee, for her new client specials. I have kept going back for the last 3 years because she is amazing!! Not only does she do great cuts and color, she always does her best to make sure everyone feels comfortable while there. I cannot believe how much I love my colorist/stylist, Dee. She is beyond talented with both her knowledge of color and creativity of cuts. I adore her spunk and spirit. The salon atmosphere ROCKS. She has done an amazing job on my hair and given me a fabulous cut that everyone loves.
