GOHAR was a saint; she didnt judge me for the mess that is my hair (If you recall, I cut my own hair short in solidarity with the Women of Iran a couple of years back) so its growing out and I looked like Morgan Wallen. I have been a client for a few years at Young Styles Beauty Salon. they used to have great hair stylists but it seems they are no longer working there. The last time I went to get a hair cut, I got a less than mediocre hair cut. The stylist was unfriendly and kept talking with her associates and laughing, and completely ignoring me, which I thought was very rude. When I went to pay for my mediocre hair cut they charged me almost three times the price that I had paid the last time. I was shocked and extremely disappointed with the cut and the price gauging. This was my first time coming to this Salon and I really didn't know if my hair was gonna come out the way I really wanted. At first I was not sure if I was gonna like the results noting from previous experiences my hair didn't really come out the way I envisioned from other Salons..but honestly, after the 4 hours (I have really THICK course hair both wavy, curly & straight) to cut/layer, thin & highlight my hair so that I didn't see the "gray" and still make it look natural.. Isn't it amazing how getting a wash and blow dry can make you feel like a million bucks? Thanks to Narine for her great work! I chose to walk-in as I was in the neighborhood waiting for my kids and my hair was a disaster. She gave me a thorough wash and careful yet efficient blow dry. Very professional and kind - she even offered me some coffee! I always get the strengthening Gelish manicure since my nails have a tendency to break and chip easily, but with Anna's work, my nails always last me a month!! And they have gotten a lot stronger as well. They also offer coffee/water, some chocolate too, to the customers which is so refreshing to see and very thoughtful. I came in for a Mens haircut in the afternoon. I don't know if most salons just do not know how to cut mens hair or if I am just unlucky, but I came out with a unsatisfactory haircut. My bangs look hot garbage and were just cut in a straight line, back hair was left much longer than the sides, and just all around uneven haircut. The women cutting my hair clearly didn't know how to cut my hair or didn't seem to care much and wanted to just cut it as fast as possible. She asked me near the end "If I wanted to wash my hair or nah", which I found strange in the way she asked. I told her yes and we walked over to the washing station. She then asks me to stand and bend over forward towards the sink?! There's a perfectly good seat right there where I can sit down to wash my hair, but she wants me to bend forward 90 degrees hunched while she sprays soapy water down my head and into my face. I never in my life had to do that in any hair salon I went to Hahahah I was just dumbfounded. I was expecting atleast a somewhat decent service for a $35 Mens Haircut that was less than 30 minutes long. I just can't recommend this place after that experience. Move along and find somewhere else. read more

I've been getting Brazilian Blowouts for over 10 years and have had a problem with breakage in the past . Janna addressed those issues telling me to use a protein pack on my hair periodically, and not put heat directly on my hair. She did the best Brazilian Blowout I've ever had meticulously making sure every hair was flat ironed straight. She was also very thorough in telling me how to care for the treatment afterwards to prevent future breakage. So if you have frizzy/curly hair and want a straighter, smoother look go see Janna. In all fairness I was deceived by the name of this place so the bad experience is partially my fault. I assumed the name of this salon meant that they cut children's hair. I was wrong. They don't seem to have experience cutting children's hair. My son cried and the hairdresser started freaking out. She kept telling me she didn't want to cut his hair and eventually we stopped. His hair was a mess and she wasn't able to even it out. The part that has me knocking off stars is that the owner or person in charge of collecting ended up charging me almost full price for the "cut". The hairdresser was able to get me some of my money back which I appreciated. I may go back for myself one day but definitely don't take your scared kids there. read more

I used to see Marina when she had a salon down the street. She has since moved here and I am always happy with her cuts. I have long hair with layers and I've had my fair share of bad haircuts. The great thing about Marina is that she can do anything from a basic simple cut in like 10 minutes, to Japanese hair straightening or coloring etc. On top of that her prices are PHENOMENAL, especially for this area. When I first moved here I physically walked into about 10 salons, asking about their pricing. Everything was $50 or more for a simple cut. I was feeling pretty hopeless, as this is just out of my price range, and hell if I am going to pay some 17 yr old $50 to cut my hair. I don't think so. Finally as a last ditch effort, as I was passing by her place I decided to give it one more try. When I came in and spoke to her, not only did she give me an incredibly good price, but she cut my hair right then and there! The reason I give 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because last time I went, when I sat down she asked if I wanted just a haircut or a cut and blowdry... and I said blowdry too please because I can't tell if I like the cut when its wet. Well, I wasn't terribly happy when I went to pay. The bill was twice as much as a cut alone. I think if something is going to double your bill, then the stylist should tell you that, or at least tell you how much it costs before proceeding. I don't really understand why she did that, but I don't have a lot of money, and this definitely set me back. read more

I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed for the first time in about a year, so I came here. I saw their advertisement that it was only $10 and in general I tend to go with Armenian ladies to take care of my eyebrows because they understand how I like them. Nora greeted me and took me in the back. Immediately she made conversation with me about school, my family, the holidays, etc. She was absolutely adorable and I felt totally comfortable trusting her with my eyebrows. Nora was very careful with my sensitive skin and made sure to wax with care. It took a bit of a while for her to finish but when she gave me a mirror to check out the product, I was stoked with how amazing they looked! As I was paying she insisted on giving me some candy to take home for myself and my siblings. She honestly made my day, I left the shop so happy. The women who I talked to on the phone were condescending and dismissive...the last time they told me to come in in 30 minutes.
