I'm someone who has a diagnosed phobia of bugs, so it was not fun finding out that I have lice. If it wasn't for Karen and the Hair Queens, I probably would've shaved all of my hair off (not kidding). Karen genuinely cares to help people. I discovered lice in my daughters hair around 10:30 pm the night before a big event she was involved in. I ran out to buy an at-home kit and after about 5 minutes of trying to do it myself (no clue what I was doing) and getting the "heeby-jeebys", I decided I would call someone for professional help first thing in the morning. I called Karen from Hair Queens at 7am and she was at my house at 8:30am. She knew we had somewhere important to go at noon so she managed to move around her day a bit to help us get lice free before we had to leave. These ladies were absolutely phenomenal. I called them frantic on a Friday afternoon because my daughter's daycare sent out a notice that a kid in their classroom had lice. I had no clue how to check her or what to look for so I called them. First of all, I LOVE that Linda first guided me on how to check rather than immediately pushing her services on me. But since it was my first time I asked her to please come check because I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. She came to my house with an assistant (Stacy I believe?) the next morning and did the full on lice check and luckily we were lice free! As she was checking and combing she was telling me exactly what she was doing so that I could feel comfortable doing it on my own in the future if I have to. We bought the lice comb and the mint repellent spray (all natural) and she gave me some tips and tricks on what to do for the next few weeks to keep an eye out and to make sure we're able to prevent it! They were SUPER accommodating and did an amazing job and it just takes the cake that they're able to come to your house! What were you doing at 9pm last night? I was hanging out with the Hair Queens who CAME TO MY HOUSE to deal with LICE that my 1st grader got AT SCHOOL. They are local moms who do this because they love helping people. It cost 1/2 of what we paid last year in the "special salon". These ladies taught me how to wrangle the lice like a pro, checked both girls and my head. Lice is annoying. I was told my child had a very mild case of lice by the doctors office. I called Linda at hair queens at 5:30 freaking out and by 7:30 Karen and Xiomara showed up to rescue us. We quickly found out it was not a very mild case. My son and husband were loaded. I have long hair and my husband has very thick long textured hair. They worked on us non stop for 3 hours because they knew I was distraught and it would take me many more hours to comb out my husbands hair. We still had tons of laundry to do and get our 3 yr old in bed. They stayed with us until almost 11pm and constantly talked us through the process and what next steps we would take in the upcoming days. They talked me off the ledge and made me feel at ease. Hair Queens are quite simply the BEST!! My teenager was generous enough to bring home head lice (boo!) I was overwhelmed with the task of ridding my home and all 7 heads of these disgusting blood suckers!! Five years ago when my kids were younger, one of the little ones brought head lice home from vacation!! Guess she wasn't happy with a lousy t-shirt! Anyway, I was disgusted and I overwhelmed. What a wonderful experience we had with hair queens. Karen and Xiomara were amazing. Not only were they both so knowledgeable but so friendly and patient. They don't try and sell you on anything.
