I've had many unsatisfactory haircuts in my life, but this one has to be the worst. Rather than being upset, I'm disappointed in the quality of the service by a "professional". First, I had planned to donate my hair, but it was my first time doing it so I wasn't sure how it worked and requested a quote on yelp. According to Yelp, they usually respond around 24-48 hours later I believe, but I never got a response so that should've been my first clue. I could've called but if they're going to offer online quotes, they should deliver. Second, I informed the hairdresser I was planning to donate my hair when I arrived and I told him I wanted a shoulder length bob. He moved the rubber band lower and cut above it, which I thought was my shoulders like I requested. It wasn't until after they washed my hair did I realize the length of my hair was now above my chest. I know hairdressers need to leave excess hair as a baseline before a cut, but he left too much and that could've been donated too. Especially since all he did was make more blunt cuts and thinned out the edges slightly. He could've skipped the additional blunt cuts by just cutting off how much I requested and then thinned out my hair. Third, my hair looked fine when he cut and styled it, but after I washed it myself 2 days later, I realized the hair on my left side was longer than my right. Unless I tucked the hair on my left side behind my ear and wore a dark colored top, it's very noticeable. The ends aren't even either on my left side, there are some short and long strands. It looks like I tried to cut my own hair at home with Edna Mode as my reference. I considered going back to have them fix it but I didn't want to risk having them cut off even more so I'm just going to let it grow some more and get it cut again later. Or maybe I can salvage it myself once my it grows a bit longer. The only reason I didn't give this place 1 star was because the young woman who washed my hair was great. She was very gentle and meticulous. read more

Writing this review to hopefully help others avoid the situation I'm currently going through, I was a customer at Hair wizard. They were great. I went back end of march 2025, not knowing that it was under new management. Owner performed a keratin treatment and Japanese hair straightening and I have been dealing with persistent damage since. Losing 2 years of hair growth has been devastating to a degree I'd never thought I would have to experience & Im unsure how long It'll take for it to grow back or be even remotely healthy again...Was told by 4 other hair salon personnel at 4 different places that he shouldn't have done what he did. Confronted owner about this and he wanted to "fix" it... theres nothing to fix when hair had been irreparably damaged. Echoing the same comments as below he is super argumentative, arrogant, money hungry and will gaslight you. Save yourself pain please Please take a look at Google reviews as well. Desperate for a hair cut in my small window of surprise time, I scoped out Yelp, of course. So many places are closed on Sundays or seemed really focused on color, and other places didn't have time. I told myself, "if this last place doesn't have time today, I'll try another time," and it was like fate that HW could squeeze me in. My haircut today was one of the best I've had in a long time - and one of the fastest and cheapest too. There was only one other family in the studio. The space felt safe in this covid19 age, where seats were apart and masks stayed on the whole time. The speediness was also a plus. I booked an appointment and asked for a haircut, i was greeted kindly when I walked in and the hair stylist proceeded to start. She was happy to let me show her a picture as I explained what I wanted. I came in asking for a wolf cut and my hair was weird because I was still growing my hair out after an undercut and she flawlessly brought my hair together to be the same length as she cut it. Horrible what kind of place doesn't know how to style hair. Never in my years have i met someone so inept. My hair looks like it was done by a five year old. The layers are very uneven I genuinely feel like my left side layers are longer than my right side. She thinned out my hair wayyyy too much it looks like ive lost hair (suffering hair loss) and it emphasizes an unflattering head shape if that makes sense. After the hair cut when she was styling my hair she couldnt style it at all. I left w one random curl on my right side and straight hair on my left?? Honestly so disappointed because i cant even get this fixed at my normal hair stylist (she was booked out and decided to give this place a shot) until my hair grows out. My experience here was ok. It was my first time there. I wasn't greeted when I arrived (there was only 1 client there, so not like they were busy). I told the person cutting my hair I wanted a few layers, and also showed a picture. She acknowledged not a lot of layers. The ladies working here are incredibly lovely and detail oriented. I got exactly what I wanted and more - they cut to exact lengths (not 4 inches shorter than you asked for!!) and the head massage during the wash is fantastic.
