We have to make a hair appointment to correct the uneven sides. She was very rude. They didn't even wet the hair. I have never been to a hairdresser that doesn't wet the hair before cutting it, still we trusted her and now one side is longer than the other. It was really expensive for 5 mins of what my five year old with scissors could do at home. If you have thin hair and are not white they treat you poorly and honestly don't know what to do with your hair. The yelp review was misleading. It was stressful, they were rude, and now we have to go get professional haircuts to correct their mistakes. I was trying to treat my family to a girls day at the salon and I have never had such a terrible experience. I have taken my family to get haircuts and nails before and my reviews have always been positive but this time I feel like those with our type of hair (thinner Asian hair) should know that this is not the place for you. On the phone they told us we could get our hair cut all together. When we got there they told us they only had two hair dressers one that could cut short and one that could cut long hair (even though there were 4 hairdressers there). In terms of pricing this place is expensive. They charge 30 dollars to wash your hair, 30 dollars to cut and 30 dollars to blow dry. We were going to do all but because they lied and we did want my elderly grandma with dementia and my five year old waiting we went just for the cut. Still expected them to at least comb the hair and spray it with water before cutting. The second star is for the lady that does short hair. Because she cuts hair like my mom used to when we were growing up. It's fine, not salon style not not offensive. However, as we got closer to the wedding day, we started seeing red flags. First, Gurdeep was unwilling to travel to my wife's house in New Jersey, even though our wedding was also in New Jersey. She insisted my wife come to New York instead, which was unreasonable. When she finally agreed to travel, she charged an absurd amount for what was only a 30-minute drive. On the wedding day, my wife was disappointed with the way Gurdeep handled her makeup. Instead of listening to her preferences, she insisted on a dramatic smokey eye and dark lips--something my wife never wanted. Being an introvert, my wife didn't push back at the time, trusting Gurdeep's expertise. Unfortunately, when we saw each other for the first look, my wife could immediately tell from my reaction that the makeup was a huge mistake. It was poorly blended and did not suit a traditional Sikh bridal look at all. Even when we received our wedding photos, we begged the photographers to fix the makeup in post-production, but there was only so much they could do. We were left deeply disappointed that such an important part of our wedding day was mishandled. Brides, please do your research before booking!
